How to create auto Collection? || Group together multiple Versions

HI,

I moved my library to a new server and did not take my configs with me.

On the old Server Collections were created without problems. With the Plugin?

Now nothing is grouped together.

In Library I have "collection information from metadata downloaders" activated. And I already scanned the library anew.

However, there is no Collection ID or whatever in the Movie Metadata.

Furthermore I have multiple Versions of the same Video, but they will be added separately.... What do I have to do to group them?

I have seen that I have to use a "-" to denote the Versions, but in the old Server it partially worked without and now it does not work with hyphens either.

...I know that I can do it manually but I would like to know how to do it automatically.

Collections are now created from item metadata, so if your item metadata was never updated collections will not be made.

First verify your Movie library option is enabled

Then take two items that you know belong to a collection and refresh their metadata, is a Collection created?

If not, can you go over a specific example.

For Emby server to automatically group the rule is " - " spaces around the hyphen but what you describe would the plugin method that will automatically group by providerid not naming scheme.

Automatic version grouping for movies

Sorry, for the late reply.

This is exactly what I have.

"import collection..." with 2

And yea, I have updated the Metadata. But it does not combine files together nor does it add an Collection ID or whatever is supposed to be there.

Does this Autocollection Plugin still work on the newest Server?

Also,  for different Versions.

I guess it does not collect them together because the 2nd has no "-"?

Toy Story 4 – Alles Hört Auf Kein Kommando (2019) [GerEngDub] [GerEngSub] [BD_1080p]

Toy Story 4 (2019) [GerEngDub] [EngSub] [BD_2160p]

I have changed the name of the first and added an "-" to the 2nd and it still does not group together. ->

Toy Story 4 (2019) - [GerEngDub] [GerEngSub] [BD_1080p]

Toy Story 4 (2019) - [GerEngDub] [EngSub] [BD_2160p]

Any ideas?

I would rather not group everything manually.

Yes it works on 4.6.and 4.7.  Assuming you are downloading the one labeled "AutoCollections-for-4.6.0.22-betaServer ".

Work just fine groups version anywhere with the same providerid.

Collections are about item metadata so if you write nfo files we would need to see the nfo file for the item that is being added to a collection.

But these are two totally different issues.

The server automatic groups has rules otherwise you have to the plugin.

As I said, there is no Collection ID or something like that. Was there one? I have it in my head that there was one...

What do you mean?

Isn´t my Toy Story example following the naming Guidelines? Where is the problem?

Anyway. I just pushed the Plugin to the Server and I immediately got the different Versions grouped together.

And after a full Metadata replacement the Collections were created too.

....Why doesn´t Emby use the same Logic as the Plugin?

...And there is still no Collection ID, ... did I remember wrong?

Emby chose a naming scheme method and a community member create a plugin that used providerid. But every user will not want the version merged when they are in different locations.

CollectionID was removed from the UI per item I believe in the 4.6 update.

Running Emby v4.8.21 beta via Docker container Ubuntu 20.04.1.
Had to re-install my Emby Docker container from scratch close to a year ago and have lost the ability to auto-group.
For the Docker container I use image: ghcr.io/linuxserver/emby:beta
I know I have many movies that have automatically grouped in the past, but I am seeing many new ones that are not doing so on their own.
Checked their metadata, and they seem to be identical.  They are added to the Movie Collections, but it will show multiple times (posters) instead of grouping them.
For instance, as above, 720.mp4, 1080.mp4, 4k.mp4 of the same movie has 3 posters.  If I manually select them and 'Group' them, obviously it works, but lost the automation portion.
If I search my Plugins list I am not seeing the AutoCollection plugin, but see Auto Box Sets v1.2.6.0, Auto Movie Version Collection v1.0.0.0.  Don't see AutoCollection plugin under the Catalog either.
The following is what my Logs show:

Thanks, updated the AutoCollections.dll that I had with the 1.0.0.5, restarted Emby server, and showed up as a Plugin under Settings > Advanced; was able to run the Update Movie Version Collection and it worked.  Guess the older version I had stopped working with the newer Emby server versions.
