FrederikB 1
Two requests in one both related to DLNA Music. The current features of Emby make it unusable for streaming on DLNA enabled players such as Yamaha and Onkyo. That is a great pity because it's such a fantastic product and it needs just a little bit of attention to make all Yamaha music players happy. The reason why we need more hierarchy in Music DLNA is that most users have 100.000's of music files of sometimes questionable source, meaning, the number of artists and genres is in the 100's if not 1000's. Usually the server folder or even the emby library organization offers good filtering capabilities but as said, they are not available in the DLNA selection process. Currently DLNA Music does not offer the option of folder browsing. It's actually requested in another post. Another way to categorize is using multiple libraries for music genres. This works well for me, example a classical library and one for rock. However when using the emby dlna UI and then searching for playlists, the results show the playlists from either (or both) libraries. You'd expect it would at least filter for the library but that is not the case. Images: libraries (Klassiek=cliassical) then the result of the dlna playlists in my iphone, browsing from the Classical library. Dire straits, Bach and Schubert combined. Playlists are global. They do not belong to a library because you can add anything from anywhere to them.
