eschreeee 0
With the Emby for Android application from the Google playstore (Android 12, pixel 6 pro, not rooted), I have some media files that don't work with the default/internal media player which emby uses (I have audio with corrupted images). When I set an external media player, I want to use MX Player, but emby instead uses Google Photos as the external media player and it fails to play the video entirely (no audio, black screen). If I disable Google Photos, emby will correctly use MX player (no issue with playback). I went through my defaults with Google photos (settings and system), but I don't think there is a way to nix it's playback capabilities. Is there a way to choose which external media player to use within emby itself? Edited December 18, 2021 by eschreeee
Solution Luke 37007 Posted December 24, 2021 Solution Share Posted December 24, 2021 @eschreeee as a test, if you install VLC, does that change anything?

After installing VLC, when I press play within Emby, a pop up asked which video player I wanted to use (option between VLC and Google Photos, MX Player not listed) and choosing VLC has it working like expected. Thank you!
Luke 37007
Yea I'm not sure why you had to do that, but thanks for the feedback.
