romero91 0
Hi! I bought Emby Premiere today but i have one problem with 90% of my Full Bluray collection. In the files that the movie info does not detect, it does not play. I enabled all options to Transocde on the server and user. Thanks. ffmpeg-transcode-b5e0ec1d-dfdd-48e2-bd75-a1284cbca4fb_1.txt Edited November 28, 2021 by romero91
Luke 37029
Hi, playback of ISO files in the web interface is not supported. Have you looked at using MakeMKV to convert to mkv?

Luke 37029
It's normal yes if ffmpeg has to be used on the server, which it is in both cases.
Carlo 4330
Hi, did you catch what @Luke mentioned about using MakeMKV to convert the ISO files to a format that can be streamed?
romero91 0
which clients accept ISO? are they working to make it compatible with more devices? converting ISO to MKV is not an option in my case. @cayars Edited November 29, 2021 by romero91
Carlo 4330
No work is being done to add ISO support as it's not a streaming format and goes against the very nature of a streaming server such as Emby. An ISO is nothing more than a one file disc image. That format is great for archiving DVD and Blu Rays but that's it. They really serve no purpose in the streaming world. MakeMKV or similar programs can take that ISO and allow you to choose the main movie, the audio tracks and subtitles if applicable and create a raw stream able file from it that will work with Emby Server. That file could then be optionally compressed to take up less storage space as well. The bottom line is that streaming media servers need files that can be streamed, not disc images. ISO support is included in Emby Server for historical reasons only. Some of the early clients could use them on network, same with Kodi for example if you set things up correctly. That at the time allowed people to migrate over to streaming files more gracefully so they could stream those files anywhere.
