Hallo

Hi, you need to add folders to your Docker run command in order for Emby Server to be able to have access to them. This is covered in our Docker install guide:

https://emby.media/docker-server.html

See the Docker run examples where it mentions media directory. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Hi, the instructions are there in the guide you linked to. Did you mount your folders into the Docker container?

Did you mount the external drives in docker so they are available to use?

BTW, you'll have far less issues using the native Synology Emby server vs the docker setup.
You'll also have better performance as well.

Hallo

Wrong place.  You need to mount the USB drives in docker which is a pain and does have issues.

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24225647/docker-a-way-to-give-access-to-a-host-usb-or-serial-device

If you want to use USB drives for Emby I'd get rid of the docker install and use the native Emby server made for Synology.  This will give you access easily to the USB drives.

Just how can I make Emby completely safe (backup) so that not all data is lost.

All the key configuration and user info can be backed up quickly with the Emby Backup Configuration Plugin.

If you're talking about protecting the media itself, that would require you to setup some sort of backup program or sync script but has nothing to do with Emby itself.
Synology has several backup and sync utilities built right in you can use for this purpose.  It's just a matter of have the storage available somewhere to back this up to.
