As777 21 Posted September 23, 2021 Share Posted September 23, 2021 Scrolling language lists on the Android TV app is extremely frustrating. For those of us with languages near the bottom it takes around 40-50 seconds to scroll down the list and choose a language in both the audio and subtitle language options. There isn't even a page option to make it go faster, which would help. The language list isn't actually correctly sorted either. Using the TV app to download a subtitle in video mode is an equally frustrating task. Having to scroll through hundreds of irrelevant languages each time is a real joy! We should be able to set up the client language lists on the server side to only allow a choice between relevant languages. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The list will automatically select your preferred subtitle language as set in settings now and the next release (current beta) will select the last language you downloaded automatically. As you've said, for multi-language households (or multi similar-languages downloads) that is of limited use. Being able to list selection on top far surpasses current implementation. And language list presentation doesn't help either, where languages are sorted as per country code but when translated are left in the same place, in own example Croatian (hr) is listed between Hindi and Hungarian or Serbian (srp) after Spanish (which, funny enough, ain't listed under E for es) - that really shouldn't be so, some streamlining is needed there.
