Hi. So I have my emby server on my computer. And I use Google Chromecast TV to what my videos.. all videos work well and my TV is only 1080p. But I still have some movies on 4k on my computer.

Problem comes went I try to watch those movies on my TV. The don't run well.. and is not the internet.. because I can watch them well on my laptop Via emby for Kodi.

What it can be the problem? 😕

If have read a bunch of comments of problems with 4K HDR combination with the latest chromecast, do yo have a 4K file without HDR to test it?

But after hours of messing with the settings. I can make it run.. but still sometime it have this "frame drops" I can see that it doesn't go smoothly all the time.. maybe a can do something in the emby server settings?

Yeah I read various comments about the stuttering with the 4K HDR combo.

Not much you can do there on while direct playing, because the load comes from the client device. The only other thing you could do server-side is transcoding that video.

Have you tried the emby androidtv app on the chromecast?

And I checked and all my 4k movies have HDR10.

Try with these samples

Although the bitrate is high.

I would try to get a 4K non hdr movie, if  this works with no stutter then you can be sure is a 4k-hdr limitation on that device.
