MBSki 1004
It's not about recording, it's about what shows in the guide. Do a search for The Goldbergs and you'll see what we're talking about.

Carlo 4328
I don't think there is anything Emby should do about this as it's a guide issue. When you have the same series listed with 2 different dates Emby has to assume these are different shows.

I have Plex and Emby connected to the same Cable tuner on Verizon Fios.
Carlo 4328
Comparing to Plex doesn't mean anything as they both handle things differently. I was not saying that was the issue but we found out . If I look at this show from the guide I get this: But this show really is this: So it's quite possible in your area different channels are listing it both as 2013 and 2016 and Emby will treat this as two different shows. So try taking a look at the year on both of them.
MBSki 1004
I'm not sure what you mean. Don't Plex and Emby both use Gracenote? As far as year, 1 is 2013 and the other is 2016. That's the issue. Why'd you want me to check that? 2016 is wrong. You said you looked in "the guide"? What about doing a search?
MBSki 1004
@cayars Following up. Don't Plex and Emby both use Gracenote? And what do you see when you do a search for The Goldbergs? 2 Programs right?
Carlo 4328
Clicking on it shows me this But clicking through on the first episode shows this: Three different years for this show 2013, 2017, 2019,

Carlo 4328
Just a heads up. I believe we understand what's going on with this and different years showing up for the same series.

Carlo 4328
IMHO, yes there is a way to fix this to get the correct information. How this would be implemented or time line isn't for me to say. I've only sent Luke a PM on this hours ago so he will need time to look at it and evaluate it properly.
Carlo 4328
This should be fixed in the beta 14 release. You will need to "force" this to see changes right away. Remove your tuner source and refresh guide. This will purge your existing Guide Data. Remove any scheduled series recording that have this issue (write them down if you have a few). Add your tuner back and wait for the guide to refresh. Recreate your existing problematic shows.
