Bug: Logo not showing in video player

I have a strange problem. For some reason the logo of a movie most of the time is not shown while playing it. Seems to affect all libraries containing the type Movies. However, all my TV Shows show the logo without a problem. I am a bit unsure how to troubleshoot. Below is printed in the logs when starting a movie if that helps.

Hi, have you checked to make sure you even have a logo for the movie in question?

Yes, all movies have logos working and shown on the details page. If I inspect the html code when playing a movie the container is completely empty. This happens for all movies but TV Shows works.

Try removing any custom css.

Removed all css, cleared browser cache and tried a couple random movies, but still the same problem.

That's strange. They could just be taking a little longer to load.

I don't think that is the case as I have seen multiple movies all the way through without the logo ever showing up.

I mean the problem is that the code for the logo is not even there. It should look like this but the css for the background is not even generated (see screen I posted above).

We don't actually put the logo above the text in the OSD. It's always in the upper left, so I think this is related to your customizations.

That is true but, like I said, exactly the same happens if I remove my custom CSS. I can show you if needed.

I am not sure how experienced you are with CSS but the background image put in by emby is inline which means it is generated in the same place the html is so it couldn't be my external css that is the culprit.

I have not noticed this issue with this custom css.  Only tested in Chrome and Edge.

But your image above would appear the logo is not loaded at all on in the player.  So the question is what is different about your browser/system?

@LukeI found the variable here.  If played from itemdetails the logo appears.  If played from any other area via card playbutton no logo appears.

Awesome guys! Then I guess I have to wait for the main release to keep up with the beta and report back.

Has anyone tried changing the Z-index on the css for the logo?  It looks like the logo is behind the video.  That can be why the div highlight shows up in the lower left of the video, with nothing in it.  The video has a default higher z-index value built in the browser.

But the logo is not showing in the code at all per the first image.

<h3 class="pageTitle"></h3>

vs

<h3 class="pageTitle pageTitleWithLogo" style="background-image: url(&quot;http://localhost:8096/emby/Items/56157/Images/Logo?tag=3d2a2582a5c714b8144e10dd2c73e9d3&amp;quality=90&quot;);"></h3>

But as mentioned 4.7 has different behavior then 4.6.

Aha, good point, I missed that.  Also, sounds like the fix is coming.  Some variable out of scope or code typo.  That kind of bug can so easily be missed.  This forum is really on top of all the issues.  Great work!
