tome0703 0
Hello. I wanted to test the Emby and installed this on me inem Synology NAS (DS 213+) The setup was easy going and everything seems to work flawless. However, when I want to start a movie or TV series, I get the following error message: Quote No compatible streams are currently available I have tried to do this from several different clients (Windows via Browser, Smartphone App, Windows Store App, LG Smart TV), without any success. All clients are inside the same subnet. In general, it seems like everything is very sluggish and slow. The image buildup in the movies takes a very long time. Could it be that my NAS is already too weak for this? The media data resides on the same Raid 1 volume as the Emby server (@Synology NAS). Could this be the problem? embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9f22ed25-1854-43aa-a97a-7b5727643817_1.txt hardware_detection-63764649932.txt Edited August 16, 2021 by tome0703
tomnjerry74 93
Edit: Nevermind, your log makes it look like a bunch of server files are missing or something. Best to wait for an official dev response. What I said about the server + media on same volume still applies though. To me this sounds like a permission issue. Does the internal Emby user have full permission to your shared media folder? You can check in DSM. Also, having the server and media files on the same volume is normal and shouldn’t be a problem at all. Disclaimer: I’m not an Emby dev or affiliated with them professionally. tome0703 0
I have checked this already. The user for emby has read and write permissions to the media share / folder.
Carlo 4330
Did you do a migration from DSM 6 to DSM 7 for Emby or was this a new install? The server log is showing problems accessing files in the the Emby Server directories.

I have also checked the permissions for the "emby" folder. The "emby" user has read/write permissions.
Carlo 4330
I would try and reinstall Emby again overtop of your existing installation. That may fix the errors being seen in the log.

tome0703 0
For testing purpose I have downloaded the portable version for windows. I have no problems watching movies from the same media share (NAS). I have also testet differnt clients. No problem so far. It seems that either the NAS package is broken or my NAS is too weak/slow. Luke 37060
I'll check with our package developer on how we might be able to debug this. To be honest, the Synology builds are templated, so we put together the PPC package mainly because we could, however we don't actually have one of these really old models on hand for testing. I'll find out what we can do. Thanks.

alucryd 216
Sounds like my toolchain is shooting too high for this CPU. Could you guys please post the output of the following commands: uname -a cat /proc/cpuinfo ls -la /lib/ld-* And if you could also provide me with any binary from your system (in /bin for instance) so I can see how they're compiled, that would be grand. I'll tweak my toolchain to match the cpu you have. Our ppc port was originally targeting a thecus device which probably doesn't have the same CPU. @MADVirus Thanks for the offer, I'll take you up on this should the need arise. Luke 37060
Yes our ffmpeg compilation tool chain is probably aiming a bit too high for what this CPU supports.
MADVirus 1
is there a way to test it ? i can only test the built in version of ffmeg (old version 2.7.7) and when i try to execute the one packaged with Emby it say "No such file or directory". edit: I did some experimentation, I have replaced the ffmpeg binary with one that work on my system so now it launches ffmpeg but failed with "Output file #0 does not contain any stream" as you can see in the attached file. And if I remove the parameter "-an" from the command, it works ! ffmpeg-transcode-53ef98df-04f1-4d21-b175-5fbf383ae32e_1.txt Edited August 27, 2021 by MADVirus
alucryd 216
Thank you all for the input, I'm getting conflicting information about this CPU, but I'll try to cook something up. According to the spec, the CPU doesn't have an FPU, yet Synology's toolchain is built with hardware floating point, but the supplied ffmpeg binary is soft float for some reason. I'll try to mimic Synology's toolchain, one thing I was missing is SPE, I'll give it a shot. Will keep hardware floating point for the time being, I'll disable it if it still doesn't work for you. alucryd 216
Went with soft-float after all, the spec sheet, the debian powerpcspe port, and crosstool all say this CPU has no FPU. The resulting ffmpeg is now very similar to the one posted above. Please give the latest beta a try: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases/download/4.7.0.12/emby-server-synology-mono_4.7.0.12_ppc.spk And thank you for your patience, didn't realize it's been a month already. alucryd 216
So it's somehow worse than before? Let me try hard float then, even if it doesn't make sense.
