Anduser2000 0
Sharing a photo with the android app (even as paid premium user) just shares a weblink pointing to the own emby server. Especially when you are using an internal server behind a VPN/firewall solution these links cannot be accessed by anybody. Therefore the sharing is pretty useless. I somewhere read that you fear copyright issues when you share the photos as images. However, about all other apps (on android) can share gallery photos as real images and don't run into problems. It should be possible for emby to do this too. Sharing just photos would be a start (resp would be ok for me) and maybe is a compromise so that you do not need to share videos (Although other apps can do this too be it messengers or email etc). If that is not an option what about either make the app open source or allow some kind of external connectors or plugins which can provide such a functionality. ebr 14860
This is going to be a duplicate of this discussion: The reality is all the parties we deal with (payment processors to app stores) have a question in the setup of "does this app allow sharing?". Answering "yes" to that question has consequences from needing to provide a bunch of extra information and security protocols all the way to "you cannot use our system". Therefore, at this time, we simply cannot allow the actual sharing of media content to anyone that hasn't been setup as a user in the system.
