I have just installed emby on my Samsung (Tizen 5). Emby app keeps telling my that there is a newer version available but it refers me to https://emby.media/download. Thats where I just downloaded the version I just installed? So is there a newer version than 1.0.89? were do I get it? This is what I installed https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/raw/master/tizen/tizen.zip

The latest is .99.  When did you download it because that link should be .99 which has been out there for a few weeks now.

Thanks. I just downloaded it but apparently I already had a version installed on my tv and ran into the "Certain Samsung SmartTVs have an issue where the app won't upgrade from USB drive if there is already a USB version installed.  If this is the case you'll simply delete the old version before inserting the USB and then repeat the same installation process to install the new version." But that fixed it.

Cool.  Glad you got it.

I think almost all models require you to delete the old usb version first.  A couple people have said they don't need to delete first, so I worded it like that so you can test it for yourself.
