Emby Version 4.6.4.0

Hi.

I'm using a Synology NAS DS215J to run my Emby server.

My web client says ...

"Version 4.4.3.0

A new version of Emby Server is available!

Version 4.6.4.0 is now available for download.

Please login to DSM and go to Package Centre to update."

 

The NAS is set to automatically update, with the source being https://synology.emby.media/ 

 

I guess my questions are:

1. Why is my Emby outdated when it's set to auto-update?
2. Why when I navigate to https://synology.emby.media/  is it a dead link?
3. How else can I update?

Hi, That's an old link that is no longer used.

Right now what you want to do is go to our download page and navigate to either the DSM 7 or DSM 6 pages depending on version running on your NAS.
Download the appropriate package for your NAS.

Then login to DSM and go to Package Center.
You can then manually install the package at the top of the screen.

After upgrading to 4.6.4 it might have you restart your server because of new DLLs.  Go ahead and do this.

After the restart go to the Library menu and check each library to make sure it still has the proper type associated with it and didn't switch to "Mixed Content".
If all looks good do a full library scan from the library menu to finish the migration of the database to 4.6.4

If you notice any library types being wrong, shut down Emby Server and change the library type before running the full scan following the directions here:

None of this is hard even if it seems like a lot to do.  Checking things at each step will save you time and make for a smooth migration to 4.6.4.

Thanks. Have run the update manually and all seems fine.

Will my NAS no longer automatically update then if the link is no longer used? Do I have to manually update all the time now?

Synology has never auto updated that I know of.  This as far as I know only works on Windows but I believe is planned for other platforms.

Once we're listed in the Synology app store, you'll be able to install that and it will auto-update. We are working on that.

So, may I remove the SinoComunity (https://packages.synocommunity.com/ or https://synology.emby.media/) from my NAS?

It looks it is not used anymore.
