jonborgkid 0
I have read through so many forums on this, and I still haven't found any solution. I see other people who have run into the same problem, but none of their solutions have worked for me. My goal is to set up the iOS app for remote viewing. I have the Emby server set up, and I can run it on my Roku, but I can't connect on my iOS app. My server shows up on the app, but when I click on it, it just says "Connection Failure." It doesn't work on my iOS web browser either. I have set up port forwarding on my router for all of the ports mentioned under the "Network" tab on Emby. I've tried entering my local IP address as I have a static IP set up with my ethernet on my Mac. Still no luck. Still no luck. That will only work within your network. You need to know your external address and use that when not attached to your network locally. Luke 36880
The app needs local network permission. You may have inadvertently restricted this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211870

pwhodges 1509
You said you're trying to set up remote access, i.e. using cellular data. You need to use a different address for that than for local access using the phone's wifi. You haven't yet said what steps in the article I linked above work correctly, and at what point you reach the failure, nor whether your failure is on wifi or cellular data. It'll be easier to help if we know what you're actually doing. Paul

stefsegers 9
Hi all, I have the same problem. On the Privacy-local network page I have enabled Emby. Also tried the external address -> not working Opened up port 8096 + 8920 Tried VPN: from 5g to Synology NAS to have a local IP, but same problem. Also tried to login with the Embyconnect -> not working. Using Emby externally on a Philips/LG/Samsung tv DOES work Using the browser and browse to Emby server also works

stefsegers 9
Yes it has 2 addresses (local and external) on tv’s it works perfect internal en external, so connecting works great. iOS is the only problem here
