chinswain 10
I have a DS918+ (DSM 6.2.4-25556) that's running the old package center version (4.5.0.14-1-beta). I'm trying to upgrade via the new manual method with emby-server-synology_4.6.4.0_x86_64.spk but constantly get the below error. I've tried on a few browsers but no luck. I'm stopping Emby via the web interface rather than via the package manager (confirmed stopped though). Any suggestions? Carlo 4328
Hi, Any reason you can't update package center to the latest version?
chinswain 10
4.5.0.14-1-beta was the last version that was pushed to the community package source, I don't think Synology have approved the package yet in the store?
Carlo 4328
Scratch that. You are running the latest DSM 6 release. Did you try doing what the error message suggested by closing out DSM and logging back in again?
chinswain 10
Yes, I also tried restarting the DS918+.
chinswain 10
I've just tried with 4.7.0.3 and it worked first time.
Carlo 4328
That's pretty strange. Any chance you could uninstall the 4.7.0.3 package and try 6.4.4 again? If it doesn't work, you can just reinstall 4.7.0.3 again. This would be helpful to us if there is some problem with the release and specific NAS. chinswain 10
Hi again, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 6.4.4 - which works after the 4.7.0.3 success.

olli4711 2
Same error here. I am on Emby 4.4.3.0 and can not manually install 4.6.4.0 (emby-server-synology_4.6.4.0_x86_64.spk) nor 4.7.0.3 (emby-server-synology_4.7.0.3_x86_64.spk) My synology has an intel 64bit CPU. Tried log out/in with no success. Tried with Emby server running/stopped. Would I lose my seetings when I uninstall 4.4.3.0 before installing the new version? Edit: After trying again i can not start 4.4.3.0 any longer (Failed to run the package service) DSM 6.2.4-25556 Edited August 1, 2021 by olli4711
Carlo 4328
We need to see your last server log to try and get an idea what's wrong.
olli4711 2
I uninstalled 4.4.3.0 in the meantime so logs should be gone. still can't install any new version. will try to find and install the 4.4.3.0 package again EDIT: same error when trying to install 4.4.3.0 again Rebooted device, disabled 2-step verifaction for admin user but still no luck EDIT2: was able to install 4.6.4.0 via shell (sudo synopkg install ./emby-server-synology_4.6.4.0_x86_64.spk) Edited August 1, 2021 by olli4711
Carlo 4328
Is Emby running now after the shell install?
olli4711 2
Yes, it is running. It also shows up and is manageable in synology package center Edited August 1, 2021 by olli4711
