Hi , running the Emby app on Tizen.

Okay, that's going to be a different issue.  More precisely, it is likely the same issue but completely different app so different solution may be required.  Be sure that is reported in the Samsung forum.

Thanks.

I just wanted to throw my hat in the ring on this one as well. I’m on a shield and can provide logs if needed. I did a slow motion video with my iPhone and the dropped frame (in my case) is the one immediately following the disappearance of the subtitle.

Hi, we're actively working on this. Thanks.

Hi,

I confirm, it's fixed. No issue for me with the beta 2.0.75.

The latest beta 2.0.76 is broken. Tested quickly on 2 4K Dolby Vision Movies.

The PGS is displayed with a white background and stay on the screen.

Rollback to 2.0.75.

I have a  Shield Pro 2019 9.1.0.

I think this was fixed already in beta .72 or .73, at least for me. Thanks @ebr!

Really?

Is it still a problem in the release version of the app?

@ebr Yes, the release version 2.0.70 still have some micro stutter when displaying the PGS.

as @freddecc said it was fixed in .72 or .73 only.... .75 is still OK.

.76 PGS broke here also.

Text will stay on the screen until the next line of text replaces it.

Logs sent at 1032 user Rick for audio static also would have the PGS subs problem

.76 subrip subtitles are broken too, not only PGS

  • PGS with HDR10 will stay on screen
  • PGS with Dolby Vision is displayed with a white backgroung and will stay in screen
  • Subrip (srt inside a mkv) will stay on screen

Can confirm as well it's finally fixed for me on latest beta (.75 for me)

The latest beta is .77. Try that one too just to make sure.

This issue is not fixed for me. Not at all. It happens whenever subtitles come up, the heavier the worse it is. It's insane.

I was watching Eighty Six Blu-rays, which have lots of music scenes with karaoke subtitles. This caused insane stuttering /  hitching ect. The final, epic scene of the season was pretty ruined.

I booted up Plex, of which I am a free user of, so no HW accelleration or anything...and it just plays, perfectly. No drops or stuttering.

This is really making me regret buying Emby Premiere, for this to still be an issue for over a year now.  Almost since I got Emby.  It happens even with ASS / SSA. Yet Plex seemingly struggles not at all?

NVIDIA Shield Pro 2019, latest emby Betas, 5900X / 3080 Ti system. 32GB 3733MHZ RAM. I feel like this should not be an issue. If it's not an issue for Jellyfin, or Plex, why is it still one for Emby?
