So, what did you compromise to get it back? I hope we are getting fully fledged app back

Everything is the same as before.

I just tried out Emby today both on my android and ios devices, while streaming from a linux server.

And I was also confused as to why I couldn't freely playback on ios but on android I could.

Although that seems to be the extent of the leeway given.

Since when I try to download the file to the android device it prompts me to acquire the premiere subscription.

Click on your User name/icon on the Home page and select the "Unlock" option.

Note that payment is processed through Google Play store, so you need to have a payment method associated with the Google account you're logged in.

In that case I'm afraid app unlock ain't feasible, as it is tied to your store account (Google/Amazon), and Premiere subscription is your only option, as it can be paid externally. @ebr might revert on that.

IIRC price would show if you continue with unlock process through Google Play.

Depending on the client device, but generally yes.

My tv supports dolby vision and HDR but if i cant unlock app trough regullar payment and not G.pay only then it is NO GO for me anyway.

Pitty i hiped to have second app for playback and not just plex on my android tv but it seems its not gonna be emby then due overcomplicated payment system.

Sorry guys this should be way simpler and independent from google...

Thanks anyway.

AFAIK there were users that paid through Paypal via Google store, I suppose there's is a way to tie those two.

So what is the price for player unlocking ?

IIRC somewhere around 5 bucks+VAT, I guess 6 bucks, more-or-less.

Hi.  Google requires us to use their payment system because they take a rather large chunk of the payment.  That's their cost of using their platform/distribution system.

You can, however, subscribe to Premiere directly from our web site.

Sure, but i don't want subscription (mentioned it few times I believe). I don't need EMBY premiere for playing my own files from my local network/NAS.
