  1. Hi All, This thing may already exist. If it does, and I overlooked it or somehow did not find it, I am sorry. I thought of this while looking for some classic movies. Basically the idea is to add year quicklinks to the overview on the left, just like you have the alphabetical quicklinks on the right. I hope this works right and explains what I mean. Not sure if with that, the sorting should be done by year, or if it should be a filter (click on 2015 to see only '15-movies). Also, it would be nice to see the imdb scroes and RT-scores with each movie poster tile as well. Could be below the movie poster tile, or as an overlay on the tile to save space. Maybe could be handled by an option? I hope this idea finds some interest! Would be cool! Cheers, Rudy
  2. Hello and Merry Christmas, I'm running Emby version 3.5.3.0 on Windows 7. My issue is that my Earth, Wind and Fire albums under My Media > Music > Album Artists (or Artist) doesn't show the albums in release order. It shows the first screenshot attachment. I've went into the metadata manager and added the release dates (see second screenshot), did a "replace all metadata" and I found out that MusicBrainz defaulted some of the release dates to 12/31/9999, so I added the release dates again but I used the "lock item to prevent future changes" option, cleared the Internet cache on the PC and tried again to no avail. I even logged in with a different PC and still saw the picture in the first screenshot. Any ideas??? Thank you. dsmithp233
  3. Your libraries of movies, TV, etc. almost certainly have lots and lots and lots of misidentified items, errors... 5%, perhaps more is possible... And 5% of a large collection, is a lot of items. Wrongly identified. Emby relies on the various databases on the internet, and between them, they inevitably make the odd mistake... That's fair enough. Many factors are involved, bad filenames, rare titles, foreign character, etc, etc... Some are just stupidly wrong. They're going to happen... BUT. We still don't have any tools to find them. You have no way of knowing how many errors are in your libraries. We have to rely on stumbling upon the error, or if you have an intimate knowledge of what titles you do have, you'll spot a few more of the errors perhaps. As attempted a couple of times, some of us have tried combining the grossly, needlessly inadequate 'Reports' feature (now a plugin), with data pulled from the database files with external tools. This has worked OK, but is a royal PITA, and not slick, not quick to do. But it does show you how many errors emby holds. Which might horrify/surprise you. If you want some fun, reinstall emby from scratch, rebuilding your libraries... You'll very quickly see some errors, with many more being there without you knowing. ALL WE WANT is the ability to, at least, list the path, filename, against the title and year from metadata downloaded... This simple feature, ability, would make finding these numerous errors possible, if a little bit slow to process (takes a lot of concentration to check 5,000 filenames, titles, years). Later, yeah, it would be sweet to have it highlight non-exact matches, that would speed up the process immensely. But we need the minimum now. These tools need to be in the core of emby... It's not good enough that this media database application doesn't have the most basic data analysis tool! Path, filename, title, year. Please.
  4. I can't seem to find a way to search movies by year. My library already has the metadata and I can look at any movie and see what the release date was. The search feature for Synology Emby seems to only be the simple search. I have tried to just put in "2017" as a search term, but none of my 2017 movies show up. I've seen that other Emby clients (ie. windows, etc.) have an advanced search feature, but the Synology client doesn't seem to have one. My question: Is there an advanced search feature for the Synology Emby? If not, is there a syntax (ie. <year> 2017) I can use to search by year?
  5. EDIT: Initial title: "BUG: metadata date wrong if imdb release date is 1/1/nnnn" Changing due to bug applying to all movies, the date is a day out for all of them. Original Post. -------------- I've just noticed with a couple of films, old ones, that emby gets the year and date wrong is themoviedb's entry lists the release date as the 1st of January of that year, showing the 31st of December the year before instead. I'm guessing the exact release date wasn't known perhaps, for the old film, so 1/1 is entered... What i see (e.g. a 1977 movie): TheMovieDB's website lists Release Date (for an example) as 1977 Emby's page for the movie shows 1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Release Date as 31/12/1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Year as 1977 [correct] If i delete the metadata Release Date and refresh the movie in emby, then: Emby's page for the movie shows 1977 [correct] Emby's metadata page shows Release Date as 31/12/1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Year as 1977 [correct] So the refresh makes the movie look correct, unless you actually look at the metadata/info page. Is this some weird timezone error??? Tmdb's release date entry was for Israel, i'm in Indonesia... It's the only thing i can think off... but it shouldn't cause this, should it??? ... Strange.

    Year icon sets

On my old MB3 system i had a set of really nice icons for the Movies By Year filter, the one for 2015 is attached. Does anyone know who originally created these or where I can find them? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
  7. Hi all, maybe I have just overseen it in the Server Options and in the Forum, but I nowhere found an option so sort Music Albums by release Date / year? Would be nice, if you can implement it Greetings
