    Connection Failure Error

Hello, So I just started using Emby and have a pretty basic understanding of how to set up these types of servers(Used PLEX before this but ran into issues with files showing up) but for the life of me I cannot get this to work. I got to the point of getting the server going with media loaded up and I am able to watch it via my laptop but I am not trying to get it so I can watch my media on my Xbox Series X with the Emby Theatre App. At first my server shows up as an option to select - Connection Failed. I proceeded to the "Sign In with Emby" and again "Connection Failed, I have tried manually entering the WAN and LAN server, with the same result. I opened my ports and restarted the Emby Server(Closing down and restarting it), I did a hard reset on my Xbox. Still got the same "Connection Failed" I tried going onto my phone and trying that way but unfortunately I get the same result. I thought maybe it's because I lacked Emby Premiere so I bought a month and that changed nothing. After uninstalling the server and apps and starting from scratch I get the same error.. I'm at a loss on what to do. I couldn't come across anything similar to my issue and now I wonder is there an option I'm missing in settings? I left everything at default.

    Stuck TV theme music

When browsing a TV show that has theme music, if you navigate away before it starts playing then the music gets stuck in loop. Doesn’t matter what you play or navigate, it is there in the background and you need to force close the app. Even home screen doesn’t work (unless unloaded by running other apps). This is on both my XboxOne and OneX, running against a Windows server. Seems to happen most when the is a delay in loading the music (drive spin up) and I’ve started an episode, everything is mixed together. Feels like a bit of a race condition in terms of when it occurs. Cannot reproduce unless the theme music hasn’t started before I navigate or play something; if the music starts when I enter the show page (or episode) then it stops properly on the next action. Can try and find logs if it helps.
  4. Is it possible to have Emby Theater UWP register itself with a persistent device Id? I'm working on a plugin for Hue lights (similar to the MiOSEmbyZWaveControllerCS plugin) to dim lights when a movie starts, but would like to be able to configure different light commands based upon the device. Unfortunately, the Emby Theater UWP doesn't appear in the device list. As a work around, I used the session manager to find the id and manually updated my config file.
  5. No matter which episode I select, it plays the first episode of that season. In this log I picked Season 2, Episode 8, and what started playing was Season 2, Episode 1. 2014-10-08 22:21:41.9258 Info - App: SessionInfoWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:41.9258 Info - App: ActivityLogWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:41.9258 Info - App: ScheduledTasksWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:51.5434 Info - App: ActivityLogWebSocketListener stop transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:51.5434 Info - App: SessionInfoWebSocketListener stop transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:51.5434 Info - App: ScheduledTasksWebSocketListener stop transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:21:51.5434 Info - App: ActivityLogWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to 192.168.1.1:54442 2014-10-08 22:22:31.3963 Info - App: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ffmpeg\20141005\ffmpeg.exe -fflags +genpts -i file:"\\server\videos\TV\Homeland\Season 2\2x08 - I'll Fly Away.mkv" -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map -0:s -vcodec copy -bsf:v h264_mp4toannexb -map_metadata -1 -threads 2 -acodec aac -strict experimental -ab 320000 -af "aresample=async=1" -y "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\transcoding-temp\ba92548decc1db01ef7f12221aa7f938.ts" 2014-10-08 22:22:32.2090 Error - App: Error streaming media. 6. I'm having a new issue where TV episodes added to my library since April 5th are taking around 5 minutes to start playing when using DLNA play-to with the Xbox One. This is all episodes added since then. About 5 shows and 5 episodes. All episodes added before then still play perfectly fine. There is also the added difference that these newly added episodes are also not displaying the sync icon in Emby. Screenshots attached. They also don't have chapters available for selection or a run-time calculated. Currently using version 3.0.5574.28668 Thanks! server-63564006013.txt

Play On Xbox One not listed

I have MBC setup with MBS running as a service. Everything is working fine and within MBS settings I see Xbox One as a listed device. When using the mediabrowser 8.1 app or the windows phone 8 app I don't see Xbox One as a listed player to select. Within file explorer in windows I am able see Xbox One as a listed device and play to it. From my Xbox I am able the launch the media player app and successfully connect to mediabrowser and play files, just vice versa doesn't work. Any ideas on why it doesn't appear within the apps?

Streaming to Xbox One DLNA got worse?

So I used to stream to the Xbox One Video app through DLNA and that worked most of the time and the quality was great (I always had transcode at best quality). Then the web based video player started working better than before so I stopped using DLNA for a while. Now with the new Server release and improvements in DLNA I decided to go try it again. It works as far as playing the movie but now I notice they have heavy artifacts. I double checked my transcode settings and they are still set to best quality. If I play the same movie in the browser it looks great. Is there a new setting I don't know about or is this just something that might've inadvertently taken a step back?

Confirmed MB3 can stream to Xbox One

Hey everyone, There have been lots of questions around the net where people have asked if Xbox One can stream from a PC like you could in 360 or PS3 using DLNA. You can't (yet). However, today I discovered that you TOTALLY CAN just browse to your network Media Browser dashboard and stream like a boss; I tested playing Star Wars Empire Strikes Back without issues. I'll be posting a tutorial this weekend but it's real simple if you already have MB3 installed on a PC: 1. Open IE in Xbox One 2. Browse to: http://yourcomputername:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/index.html 3. Login 4. Browse to http://yourcomputername:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/index.html again 5. Hit Menu button on the controller 6. Select the tab 7. Hit the "Views" button on the controller 8. Pin the tab to Home You can now browse your MB3 server anytime on Xbox One and stream from it. To stream, once you hit Play a box in the bottom will show and you can just press the fullscreen button to go full. It uses the Xbox native controls. This is a good stopgap until we can see a Xbox App or Windows Store app ported to Xbox (I believe C#/XAML Windows Store apps will be compatible with Xbox One eventually).
