Unable to connect to the thing in web browser - firewall has open port
fomtooley posted a topic in Linux
Hello - I'm an intermediate user you could say - and I installed emby onto my main server a hp proliant running debian 12. install took maybe 15 seconds. before install i looked up what ports needed to be opened, and opened up 8096 (default) and a temp alt port just in case to avoid any frustration. and reloaded firewall. installed emby. went to browser and tried to open localhost:8096 and "Unable to connect: can't establish blah blah..." I tried connecting with 127.0.0.1, and my LAN IP addresses, and my external IP addresses. Nothing will connect. I chose to install the BETA version, so I decided perhaps beta was more beta than i wanted. So I reinstalled doing a rollback to the stable version. Same problem. Triple checked my firewall. Dunno what it's problem is. Even rebooted entire server. No change. I know I'm retarded, but this is getting to me. And with the week I've had I can't take any more of fixing other people's mistakes. I just wanted to relax and watch movies and unplug my brain. So, if anyone knows what I'm missing or doing wrong, I'd be obliged if you could please offer any assistance. Thank you. -
Unable to connect to Emby from a particular internet location
NANO SHELL posted a topic in General/Windows
Hi, Trying to access Emby from my neighbours house but for some reason I am unable to access my server. After I log in and select the correct server, it just stays on black screen loading (both Laptop and phone app). If I change my phone to Mobile data, it works fine. Internet speed is a consistent 35Mb/s using Cable Internet. Just wondering if there is anything that needs changing perhaps in the modem settings? I have tried looking but not sure what I am looking for. I have uploaded a server log but unsure if it says anything about the issue. Thanks. Log.txt- 24 replies

I should start with the fact that the only recent change to my system is a new router from my internet provider, but there was not change to the IP addresses or model, etc. When I access the app through Roku, it's asking me to use a pin to connect. I created an Emby ID and password, and connected, but when I select my server, it gives me the 'Unable to Connect' error. The MediaCenter is running at the time of the error. On the computer, it shows my Samsung TV as the only active device. What am I missing?

Hi I am trying to use Media Browser Theater but it cannot log in. I enter the username and password and after about 15 seconds it displays the message "Login Failure Unable to connect to remote server" I installed today and the program was working but no longer does after restarting the computer. Media Browser Classic through WMC is still able to log in and play media. The media browser service is running from the same machine and is version 3.0.5518.7. Media Browser Theatre version is 3.0.5531.26414 I can't figure out what is wrong, any help would be appreciated. theater-63561712923.txt
