I’m using the iPhone emby app The new behavior was introduced not far ago. When I tap anywhere on the screen while playing video, it stops. I was not able to find where this behavior is configurable. Any clues? Thx and Happy New Year

This could be a feature already, if so guide me. I have keep images in media folder on if this is the cause please tell. In Emby if have a show with multiple seasons this is what the folder structure looks like: Folder season 1 S01E01.mkv S01E01-thumb.jpg season 2 fanart.jpg poster.jpg landscape.jpg season01-poster.jpg season01-fanart.jpg season01-landscape.jpg clearlogo.jpg If watching a certain episode I stop after certain minutes the show gets recorded in continue watching where the actual problem lies. If the episode has thumb.jpg, the thumbnail, which shows in the season view of the the show it should display that but instead it shows every other image in the directory first other than that. If the show has landscape.jpg or knows as show's thumbnail it will show that first. So I deleted that and then it shows the season01-landscape.jpg or the season thumbnail. So I deleted that then it showed me the season01-fanart.jpg or the season backdrop. So I deleted that then it showed the the fanart.jpg or the show backdrop. If i delete that then finally it shows me the thumbnail or the S01E01-thumb.jpg. I could keep it without the seasons thumbnail, backdrop and shows thumbnail it would solve my problem but I don't wanna delete the shows backdrop. That's a deal breaker. Can this feature be added? EDIT: One small note that after the metadata images get pulled it saves the images from tvdb or whatever as episodenumber-thumb.jpg which becomes the primary for the episode. If add that image as thumbnail manually by selecting for one episode it shows that in continue watching. So the problem can be solved this way. After doing so the image doesn't however appear in the media folder as episodenumber-landscape.jpg as it should so it might be taking extra storage.

Trying to switch from Plex because its crappy Android ExoPlayer was giving me headaches. Now I'm dealing with some issues fine-tuning Emby and need some help: 1.How do I fix the UI when the series name is too long? The controls get tiny and annoying (pic attached). 2.How do I fetch the season title metadata like Plex does?

Single Button Transcode Feature: Auto DoubleTap of Playback Correction
godbodian posted a topic in Feature Requests
Okay, given the workaround to the HEVC playback issues described here (Android TV 2.0.48 but Playback thru VLC for Android TV because of HEVC), I've abandoned the need for a fix that doesn't involve utilizing the workaround of double tapping 'Playback Correction' when video playback of HEVC stutters. I'm just requesting a single clickable button or prompt that would automatically undertake the same process of essentially double tapping Playback Correction. Here's the reason as to why; each time you click "PC", is essentially 14 button presses and to do such twice and quickly is difficult, as the rush is to complete such prior to the true start of whatever is being watched. Not to mention the processing of the first initiation of PC often slows down the processing of the second. Whereas a single button would streamline the processes of the workaround. Just a thought.- 3 replies

Just updated to Version 4.8.0.80 (Qnap) and noticed that on my emby web client, the search is no longer in the center but on the left flyout menu. Additionally, on the previous search window that was more conveniently located in the center, it would auto-populate the main screen as you typed your search. In the current iteration, the menu populates vertically and requires scrolling within the confines of this smaller window. Is it possible to have a toggle to enable the previous search menu behavior (centered search window, auto-populate within the center window) ?

The web-app currently uses Roboto font throughout, and I've experienced that on smaller size — such as descriptions etc — it is a little hard to read. So, could the Web app UI font be changed to 'Inter' as I noticed that the forum also uses it, or the could you please provide an option to the user to change it as per their personal preference.

Option/Method of Merging/Joining Duplicates within the Client/Server
JrD posted a topic in Feature Requests
I tired to word it as best as I could for the title, but what I mean is pretty simple. Currently when you have the same movie or media in multiple format/resolutions such as 1080p, 4K, or SD, as far as I know, you have to go into the actual files and rearrange them into there own folder and rename them for the Emby Server to link them together, otherwise your going to have to duplicates when viewing them in the Media Gallery. And as someone who likes to have both 4K and 1080p versions for most of my media, it can be pretty time consuming to look through all the files rearranging them and renaming them. Not to mention frustrating as there is no UI or clean way of identifying them without having to read long file names and looking through the same looking files/folders. Made even harder when its a large collection and more than half are in multiple formats, so its a lot to comb through searching and rearranging/renaming. It is what I have currently been doing, but I haven't even gotten through half of it as of now. So I got to thinking of a way and I figured, why not have the server link them up within the info or metadata that it saves. It doesn't have to change the file name or relocate the files, just have a note that these are the same movie/media and they should be link together within the data that it creates and saves for the media. And create a simple and easy UI within the client that would cut the time and complexity of doing this task by a lot. Now it would be as easy as selecting the duplicates with clear artwork and identifiers and "merging" them! Without the hassle of going into the files and renaming or rearranging them. I have created images and mock ups to better illustrate what I mean with the image attached below and with a description below You see the duplicates that the Emby Server has {Image 1} because the media files, besides being the same media, are in different files due to differences in format or resolution and are treated as different movies/media. To fix this, you click into one of the duplicated media and select the extended options (the 3 dots) that would have a new option titled something like "Link", "Join", or "Merge" {Image 2} that once clicked this would open an overlay displaying your collection of movies {Image 3} from which you select the duplicate(s) with the easy titles and artwork to tell them apart. Then just confirm that these are the items you want to merge. You are then presented with the artwork and file name or path about the selected items that you would like to join, and how you would like to label the different versions/resolutions/file types {Image 4} The server wouldn't have to ask to identify them or change any info on them as they are duplicates and are already the same. Once Confirmed the server adds a "note" or saves it in the information or metadata that these two files are the same and now shows them as one with the option to select the version with the imputed label selected by the user as it currently does {Image 5} I know you guys work hard and don't know if/how hard this would be to implement, as I don't code. But I truly believe this feature would be a time saver and one that I would highly appreciate if it could be added into a future update. Thanks in Advance and for all the hard work you guys do! -
Continue watching in the home screen, the so-called Top Shelf shows the posters of the TV shows zoomed(?) or with the wrong aspect ratio. Emby server version: 4.6.2.0 Emby Apple TV version: 1.5.3 (0) Also, is it possible to show the thumb-image instead of the poster? (As shown in the official page Emby for Apple TV)

Back in 2018 I had a thread that showed an annoying feature that was added. It's still the same today. I'd really like to be able to either select to display only #A-Z, or have it scrollable and easier to read/click. Plus it seems to work differently from one page to another (Albums/Album Arists and Artists).

It would be nice if we could customize the links that are at the top of libraries. On the latest server version in my Movies library the links are currently: All Suggestions Trailers Favorites Collections Genres I would like the links to be: All Favorites Collections I imagine if I uninstall the trailers plugin that may take care of the trailers function, but in the interest of extensibility it would be preferable to just edit this link area, in case this or other future plugins provide functionality people want but who don't want it to show as an option at the top there. Suggestions is something I'm just never going to personally use, and I believe that Genres should just be one of the options under the <A-Z> sort menu, not its own separate entry there. Is editing these something that is on the horizon with a future Emby version?
