    Disable DVR

Hi If i set up two tuners, can i disable one form recording and just use it for live tv while allowing the other tuner to record?
  3. Version 4.2.0.26-beta Hi there, currently having an issue with playing Live TV m3u sources. Having either: -"no compatible streams" -"spinning wheel" -"eventualy play 'some' streams after massive delay Opening the M3U streams via VLC works flawless. So far I have:- -removed and re-added source m3u and xml -restarted server -updated to latest beta -confirmed there are no outgoing dns resolution issues from the server Attached is the server log from a restart - failing to play a couple. If there are any clues there, please let me know. embyserver.txt Kind regards, Jonny
  4. I set up Emby Server on my Synology DS218play and configured it to use my single HDHomeRun HDTC-2US dual-tuner device. Emby only uses one tuner in the device, and the Live TV configuration screen I see in the online documentation, which shows a multi-tuner configuration, is without any of those multi-tuner options. I looked everywhere throughout Emby's server settings and cannot find what I see here on GitHub: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Live%20TV#live-tv-status If I schedule two shows at the same time slot to record, Emby lets me do it, but only one of the two record. Here is all I see for Live TV... And, if I open up the HDHomeRun EXTEND settings... Emby is on the latest version 3.5.3.0. My Synology NAS is on the latest version DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 2. My HDHomeRun is on firmware 20180817, which is the latest for the HDTC-2US with device ID 1050141D. Does anyone know how to properly configure Emby on a Synology NAS to recognize both tuners?

    Overrun with IPTV Channels

I have been experimenting with different IPTV providers, and I now have 18,742 channels. The only tuner I have installed right now is the HD Homerun Connect with my OTA channels and the premium channels from Silicon Dust. How can I get rid of all the old IPTV channels? Also, how can I can include the username and password for an M3U file I created for another provider?
  6. Hello. Trying out emby live TV tuner with my IPTV provider . Works as expected, so far (besides some missing features, as groups, that are being worked on). So, I see that there are same services that support IPTV as well ( TVmosaic, headend, etc) Is there any benefit using one of these services instead of the build in tuner

    HDHomeRun Tuner Monitor

I dusted this off as a solution for the moment to monitoring the tuners: http://home.earthlink.net/~warpster/data/HDMonitor_5_8.zip I got this a few years back and frankly forgot about it since we had the ability in Emby. I checked the link @Silicondust forums and it is still valid. Loaded up in W10 without issues. It has all the pertinent info we need and also allows rebooting of the tuners and CableCards. I have it sitting in the system tray. I do believe it is SiliconDust specific - but I don't know that for certain. Edit>>> Not my creation

    Can't Play Live TV Channel

When I attempt to play a Live TV channel, I get the loading circle go around continuously and nothing plays. The channels are all on my HD Homerun which are not working. In troubleshooting I have updated the HD Homerun to the latest firmware and I have confirmed that other application can use the turner. I have also rebooted both HD Homerun and Emby server as well as verified the correct DeviceAuth is being used by Emby for the tuner. This has been happening for about two weeks now. Here is the error I found in the log... 2018-03-17 13:05:56.597 Info HttpServer: HTTP POST http://localhost:8096/emby/Items/61cc5179ca9088d1202d43070c14b5b2/PlaybackInfo?UserId=cd4259f14e15f859a726770a45442e98&StartTimeTicks=0&AutoOpenLiveStream=true&MaxStreamingBitrate=140000000. TV Tuner with FIOS

Has anyone attempted an emby setup for LiveTV streaming that has FiOS? If so could you share some info on how you went about setting it up? Want to know how in dept the setup is and what kind of Tuners I should be looking into.

    CI card reader

Hi all, Here in Denmark (generally, northern europe), more and more content is based on a CI card reader (encrypted channels). Currently, HDHomerRun tuners do not offer this for their DVB-C tuners. 1) Has anyone found a tuner which is compatible with Emby (Windows 10), that also has a card reader slot? 2) If available, can Emby sort out tuners depending on need for card reader, or is that obvious based on channel scan? Thanks - Jennice
  12. Hello, Sorry if this has been covered before. I am looking to add live TV for use with Emby. I don't want to spend much at the moment. I see on Emby settings it says 'other' under the tuner settings. Does this mean I could buy a cheap USB tuner and it will work? If not could anyone suggest any cheap budget tuners. I would only really use it for recording live TV. Many Thanks for the help in advance
  13. One thing I noticed that TVHeadEnd does that Emby DVR does not do yet has to do with keeping tuner utilization down when watching multiple subchannels on the same tv stream. For instance, on TVHeadEnd, when I watch/record something on 12.1 and 12.2 at the same time, it will only use one tuner and split the streams out properly. On Emby, it uses two tuners to do the same, even though both of them are tuning to the exact same frequency. I believe implementing this feature would help reduce the number of recording conflicts seen on people's systems where a tuner isn't available. It should also help with network utilization as there is no need for two duplicate streams just to receive and strip out the ones you want. Great software though. I am moving from a TVHeadEnd/Plex setup on a computer to Emby on a Synology DS918+. Both setups are/were utilizing HDHomeRuns for the tuners. I am extremely happy with it, so much so that I sprung for the lifetime subscription. This is certainly software worth supporting.

Share a Tuner Over a Network

Years ago I remember installing something that allowed me to share my pci tuner to other PC's on my network. For the life of me, I can't find anything that will do this. I could just by a network tuner, but I'm trying to avoid spending any money atm If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Thank you!
  15. The last few recordings don't release the tuner or perhaps they don't stop recording when they're supposed. to. This is the 3rd time I've noticed this happening Latest examples -"The Gifted" was supposed to record Mondays from 8-9pm but the dashboard still shows an active recording for last night's (11/6/17) recording -"Crossover" was supposed to record today from 11am-1pm and as of writing this, it is 1:36pm but it still shows that its actively recording As of 1:37pm, i have manually cancelled the "Crossover" recording but i can't cancel "The Gifted" recording (just keep getting a spinning wheel) Since i'm not able to stop the "Crossover" recording that's still active, this recording is still live and taking up a tuner unnecessarily record-transcode 11-6-17 (8pm).txt record-transcode 11-7-17 (1059am).txt server log 11-7-17 (12am).txt server log 11-7-17 (155pm).txt

    Emby M3U Live TV

Hello All, I finally took the time and configured IPTV in Emby and now I'm wondering why I didn't do this long ago! Live TV is awesome in Emby, but I have a couple of questions: 1. With only 1 tuner, how does Emby handle locking the tuner when in use? It seems if Emby is recording and switch channels, it just stops recording and takes me to the new channel. Same thing happens if go to a different channel on another device. Am I missing something in config, or is this by design? 2. Can I just add another M3U tuner (assuming my IPTV provider supports multiple streams)? 3. Are there any plans to improve the EPG support? Spaceboy was kind enough to give me his AccessDB to build the EPG using SchedulesDirect, but it would be nice to have a simpler solution. 4. I find the guide is slow to load. Is this because my server is underpowered? Any answers are much appreciated!

    Emby in Enterprise Environment

So I work in the IT department at a pretty large school district. We currently have a very painful TV and broadcast system in place that no one seems to have the time to address a better solution. Being I use Emby and am a premiere member and love it, I feel that emby could come into play here. Main question here before moving further, is there any way to sync up Emby to LDAP? maybe active directory? Reason I ask is there are multiple buildings and we would be re-purposing soon to be replaced domain controllers as the Emby servers per site. It would render the solution almost unusable if we had to make changes on each remote site every time adding, removing, or modifying a user (people come and go). I guess this would be like a roaming profile in a sense? For example, If user is at Elementary 1 and goes to Middle School 2, then said user can still log in and access the local content and whatever wide area content is chosen to be available across all servers. Thoughts? Suggestions? Or am I shooting too high on this one?

Need help setting up Live TV

Hi, I just updated to the new server update (v3.0.5713.0) and I am trying to set up Live TV. When trying to set it up it asks for either HD HomeRun or M3U. I am a bit of a noob at this but I am not using HD HomeRun and I am unsure what M3U is. I am currently using a Kaiser Baas Digital Radio TVStick. I am unsure how to set this up to work with Emby Live TV. Any instructions or a nod to an article with the instructions would be much appreciated. Also I notice that the 'Upcoming' TV episodes tab still only shows particular shows and not others. Is this something that's going to take a bit to correct on my side due to meta files? (Like the actors issue recently)
  19. I've tried using Emby for my Roku 3, both version 2.09 and 2.10, and while watching Live TV does work, the stream always continues to stream even long after I've exited the Emby channel on my Roku. Additionally, when I change channels, Emby always opens the live stream on another Tuner instead of the one it was using before. In other words, I have a CableCard and 6 tuners available. I can start a live tv stream in Emby on the Roku, change the channel 5 more times, and I've now consumed all my tuners. Upon changing the channel one more time, no tuners are available and the Emby channel on my Roku crashes. Is anyone else having this issue? It seems the Roku Emby channel is not telling the server to end the stream and stop using the tuner after I stop watching Live TV... I'm using ServerWMC (latest version as of this post), a Ceton InfiniTV 6 (6 channel CableCard tuner), Emby Server on my Windows 7 machine, and my Roku 3 running both the 2.09 and 2.10b of the Emby channel. What's even more interesting: Watching live tv through the Emby web portal always will end the stream and release the tuner once I change the channel/stop watching live tv in the browser. Anyone care to cuss/fuss/discuss?? Thanks!
