Music Album/Track/Artist - Local Image Importer (not embeded images)
mickle026 posted a topic in Plugins
This is currently for testing purposes only - use at your own risk Use on a test library before even attempting to use on your main server. Plugin For Albums in their own folders ! Emby doesnt seem to be able to do this correctly , every track gets the first ones scanned embedded image. Unless i am doing it wrong. ?? But doing it this way it makes absolutely no difference what the embeded images are or what emby does or doesnt do, you are in control. Use it with realtime scanning then you dont have to mess with embys metadata editor, only to loose all the settings if i have to redo anything. You can drop an artist image in the folder or a track Image (I use singles cover images for the tracks- i like them that way) and it just adds it when RTM picks up a change, or a refresh metadata happens. So the EXAMPLE album cover is the 1977 one but the track covers are all different Its a local Metadata Reader , so it scans the local directory when any metadata refresh happens or library scan happens. Set settings in Library Edit screen. It doesnt use embeded images, it looks for an image with the same name as the track name I dont think I ever publically posted it before??? - probably because I never officially finished it! I cannot remember but I think they can be in subfolders too. Anyway it scans the local directories for song track covers, album covers and artist images. - nothing embeded! (supports jpg/gif/png/bmp/webp/tiff) Album covers will be Poster.jpg Cover.jpg Front.jpg folder.jpg 1.jpg 0.jpg f.jpg filename-front.jpg filename-poster.jpg R-xxxxxxxxxxxx.jpg // this one is for directly downloaded discogs R- filename images Artists are the same but name can be hyponated, underscored etc, probably can be in a sub folder. Rod Stewart.jpg Rod-Stewart.jpg Rod_Stewart.jpg Song Tracks Must be the same as the mp3 filename, but with a different extension Album cover backdrops are also supported by the plugin *-backdrop*.jpg *-background*.jpg *-landscape*.jpg *-fanart*.jpg backdrop*.jpg background*.jpg landscape*.jpg fanart*.jpg As it assigns the local image, beware that if you remove the image in emby it will probably remove the image from the drive (I cannot exactly remember if it does or not). I know it just returns a result to emby, so it probably depends on your settings within emby. if you are on windows and want to extract your embeded album art you can create a batch file and use ffmpeg (copy them both to the album directory and run it) Batch file contents - for jpg extract from mp3s for %%f in (*.mp3) do ffmpeg.exe -i "%%f" -an -vcodec copy "%%~nf.jpg" Anyway you are welcome to try it (as always with my plugins - try at your own risk) If you do try it, create a test library first becuase I have not tested the Album backdrops work correctly! - they should... Still to do... whenever I can be bothered. Make a config screen so you can dissable the logging - sorry its just on for now! LocalAlbumCoverImporter.zip Fixed Artist Import Throwing Errors into Emby Main log, and now only scans the current directory (test code was looking in all directories that the artist existed on tracks) LocalAlbumCoverImporter-12.09.2024.zip -
The ability to change audio/subtitle track for an entire show manually
Weevillo posted a topic in Feature Requests
Before you go ahead and label this a duplicate or suggest that the "set preferred language" option in settings pleases this request, I'm talking about a use-case for a feature such as this for scenarios where language-labeled subtitles doesn't benefit from the already existing preset in settings, i.e if you're watching a foreign media and there's a signs track in English because there's also a dub of the show. Having to change tracks every episode even though technically the correct language is selected but it's still not the right one gets quite tedious. What I'm suggesting is that you add the per-episode menu to the show/season details one more or less-. -
Hello! How should I configure server or something other for remembering selected audio/subtitles track? What do I mean: In user 'Playback' settings I checked 'Remember audio track selection' In user 'Subtitles' settings I checked 'Remember subtitles track selection' (preferred subtitles language = English; subtitles mode = 'No subtitles' (I experimented with all available subtitles modes, but nothing helps)) I go to a movie then select audio I need, subtitles I need, then go to home screen and go back to this movie again. And my chooses did not saved (all states look like as I did nothing) At playback time (I start movie playing and select while playback) change these settings does not saved also. Besides, I detect another playback problem: if I trying to change subtitles while movie playing - subtitles does not changed, also if I set it to 'None'. And if I choose subtitles before start playing then Emby for reasons I don't know select 1-st track only (I select 2-nd track but playing 1-st). Is it my wrong or server error?

When I use the Chrome app to play music via a playlist on the remote server, the music played has become out of sync with the track selected. In other words, if I select track n°10 in the playlist, it actually plays N°11 or 12. I didn't see anything in the database about that but appreciate that i might be using the wrong tags. Can anybody suggest a work around? Thanks, Steve

So when i go to my music library on the ps4 and go to an album the tracks are only listed alphabetically Ah i've just found this seems to be a ps4 issue, but could there be a work around? create playlists where they're in order or something like that?

even this is not something you typically see in music apps i would find this pretty useful to have visual feedback on what albums or tracks i've already listened to maybe i'm not alone

Hi, I'm an Asian and I love to watch Hollywood movies but when I don't understand them most of the time, I download an audio track in my native language and play it with Hollywood and English movies simultaneously to enjoy it. I do not download dual audio movies because I find local encoders having much worse picture quality. There are my websites that provide us with audio tracks of Hollywood movies and many media player are capable of playing external audios like: VLC MPC Kodi (video and external audio file name must be same to be detected and played along) I've used Plex and found it really frustrating because it cannot perform this task, neither it has parental controls (free), so I switched to Kodi but it also has no greater features than EMBY! I installed it today and updated all my libraries, I really loved it and want to use it as my Media Server, its Combo with Kodi is really awesome, I don't like to watch movies in Web Browsers so used its Plugin for Kodi, Now everything is fine except: Emby lacking ability to play an external audio. Please please please introduce this feature. Not only for Web player but it must work with Kodi Add-on so there should be an option in Kodi to play external audio if using Emby Plugin and server in it. I shall be very very thankful too you. I really found Emby best of all but if it your team design an Emby Media Player for desktop PC, it would be really really great. Thank you.

Multi-Angle / Multi-Video Track MKV Support and Recommendations
funwithmedia posted a topic in General/Windows
As I'm slowing converting some of my library to MKV, I'm encountering multi-angle / multi-video-track DVD's, and I'm wondering how folks tend to handle these, as well as what the current (and likely future) support is in Emby (particularly Emby Theater) for being able to recognize and switch between multiple video tracks (or angles) contained in a single MKV file? I thought I came across a post indicating that Emby does not currently provide a way to switch between multiple angles/video-tracks, but I can't seem to find that post so I may have imagined it. I realize that one option is to just rip 2 versions of the content, one with one angle/track, and the other with the other. The upside is that this route should circumvent any compatibility issues there might be with Emby or other players. The downside of course is potentially a lot of duplicated space (eg, in the case of a movie with just a few alternate scenes). How well does Emby handle multi-angle MKV's? And have any of you created multi-angle MKV's, and if so, what is your process? It appears to me that MakeMKV let's you pick one angle or the other, but it does not appear to me that it gives an option to combine them into a single file containing just the differing portions of each video track (and the ability, in supporting players, to switch between video tracks). I can probably live with going the route of creating multiple complete files, each with a different video track / angle, but figured it is worth checking if there are more efficient, supported ways of going about all this. Thanks!- 18 replies

Hello, first, thanks for the greats efforts you guys have spend to build such nice media center! I have moved from XBMC to MB recently hand found myself left with some unanswered questions. DVD rips means for me to copy the DVD main movie only with two audio tracks and related subtitles into VIDEO_TS folder structure. This has been done for hundreds of DVD and VLC and other can play such flawless. If I do now the same thing in MBT the main movie starts, but compared to XBMC the following issues are occurring: · No time code / runtime · No fast forward or any kind of such · No way to pick a different audio track nor subtitle * * I know that 'i' shortcut will bring a menu. And this is of course working fine on my m2ts Blu-ray rips in term of changing the audio stream. But with the DVD rips, the menu point for Audio is gone. Transcoding the same DVD rips (via Android device) let me choose the correct audio track. Of course, in LAV and on the server side I have set the default language, but its still picking the wrong audio track in MBT However, since it depends on my current moot to listen to native or English language is there an easy way I might have overseen to change the audio track during the runtime? Thanks & Regards, Klapetste

I have used musicbrainz picard to tag my music, which works fairly well, but I am noticing that the tracks of albums are not displaying the artists name, instead it is displaying 'rtists'. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

I'm new to Emby Live TV feature and loving it so far. Sorry if this was asked before but after a search nothing came up. I'm in Spain using a HDHR tuner (HDHR4-2DT) connected to the antenna to tune free to air channels in the DVB-T system. With digital TV we now have the option to choose different audio tracks (ie: spanish, english) and also subtitles (I think is similar to close caption in the US but not exactly the same). Question is: does Emby support to select different audio tracks from a live tv stream (I couldn't see any option) and also to enable subtitles? If yes, does Emby need to have guide data available to support it or it should work without it? Thanks

I was testing a few options of saving audio books (or is it audiobooks) as music or as books. That is for another topic but as I was testing the library structure in the web client, I selected the next/previous track hyperlinks. The next track hyperlink caused it to jump several tracks, never the same, and then selecting the previous hyperlink jumped back a different number of tracks. I tested this on several music albums I have just carefully tagged including multi-disc CDs and got the same results. I will be happy to provide logs and screen shots if needed but it is pretty easy to test. Anybody else seeing this? Thanks, Tanamur Full product details in signature file below...
