timezone for parental controls set to user and not system
nervous_boyd posted a topic in Feature Requests
The web UI for configuring parental control rules is presented in the system time and not the local time of the logged in user. This is confusing and can present problems if the user is not in the same timezone of the server. I would guess it should be a relatively simple adjustment in the Javascript(?) to detect the timezone of the browser and make the proper adjustments in the UI.- 6 replies

I have Emby Web 4.7.11.0 installed on a Synology 64bit NAS running DSM 7. The time zone on the server is set to match my location. UTC+10 embyserver.txt My TV Guide time indicators appear to indicate a UTC time zone. All channel guide information is incorrect. It appears that no adjustment to the correct time zone is happening. I was under the impression that Emby will adjust the information based upon the time zone of the host operating system. Is that not the case?

I'm using the trakt plugin, and I just noticed that it is reporting the wrong time to the server when marking a show as watched. I just marked a couple of episodes and instead of 23:30 which was the time, trakt shows that I watched them at 01:30 the next day. My guess is this is a timezone issue. I live in UTC+2, and the trakt setting is set to that hour. The plug-in is probably using the local time while trakt expects a UTC time, and then trakt adds another 2 hours to match the timezone.

Recently reinstalled -- not sure if this was an issue before. My server is set to current local timezone, shown by 'date' on the server. Also ran dpkg -reconfigure tzdata, correct timezone is enabled, restarted emby as well as the server. Everything on my server shows the correct time/date. Emby logs and recent activity in the dashboard are showing in UTC, not the local timezone set on the server. Any thoughts on what else I can/should check or is this expected behavior?

EDIT: Initial title: "BUG: metadata date wrong if imdb release date is 1/1/nnnn" Changing due to bug applying to all movies, the date is a day out for all of them. Original Post. -------------- I've just noticed with a couple of films, old ones, that emby gets the year and date wrong is themoviedb's entry lists the release date as the 1st of January of that year, showing the 31st of December the year before instead. I'm guessing the exact release date wasn't known perhaps, for the old film, so 1/1 is entered... What i see (e.g. a 1977 movie): TheMovieDB's website lists Release Date (for an example) as 1977 Emby's page for the movie shows 1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Release Date as 31/12/1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Year as 1977 [correct] If i delete the metadata Release Date and refresh the movie in emby, then: Emby's page for the movie shows 1977 [correct] Emby's metadata page shows Release Date as 31/12/1976 [wrong] Emby's metadata page shows Year as 1977 [correct] So the refresh makes the movie look correct, unless you actually look at the metadata/info page. Is this some weird timezone error??? Tmdb's release date entry was for Israel, i'm in Indonesia... It's the only thing i can think off... but it shouldn't cause this, should it??? ... Strange.
