I'd like to have a possibility to have Emby display an unavailability page between certain times. So for example, if an admin wants to shutsdown their storage between midnight and 9am that Emby gives an unavailable page instead of having to shut down and start up Emby with a Windows Task which completely shuts down the Emby server. This could be expanded to having this per library so if a library aren't available, instead of an eternal spinning wheel when clicking on this, have an unavailable page

So I'm pretty much brand new to the media server thing, and hoping someone can jump start my feeble knowledge on the subject. I've got a netgear R6350, so I can't install the emby server side app on it, but it is capable of running NAS via USB. I'm looking to run emby client side from Roku TVs/boxes. Can I set up the server manually (via IP and port) or do you have to have both the client and server side communicating?

Best way to start Emby Theater on boot on Raspberry Pi
bigembyfan posted a topic in Linux & Raspberry Pi
Hi, I looked all the way through the big Emby Theater thread and there's a couple of posts mentioning how to autostart Emby Theater on boot up of a Raspberry Pi. I've tried a couple of these methods and also some other methods found searching the internet but I'm not having any joy at the moment - does anyone have a preferably fool proof or best way to get this setup? I'm running the latest version (3.0.3). Close to trying the full Emby Pi image but I have a few other things already on the Pi that i'd have to re-add and configure again which I'd prefer not to. Thanks!- 5 replies

Hi, I know this would not be the correct forum, but I did not find any of the OMBI, so I apologize right away. I would like to get help on the "startup" of OMBI. We use OMBI at my school, but it stays on a computer that teachers use. And even asking, explaining, that when windows connect is only to minimize the program, they keep shutting it. Does anyone know if it is possible, make it start in the system tray (like utorrent, qbittorrent)? Thank you, thank you in advance

For the last few months, when i've started emby, which hasn't been often, as i've been otherwise busy, it's worked ok, but then chrome crashes. This then leaves chrome crashing immediately on startup... forever... even without emby running. The only way i've found to fix it is to delete the Default folder in my user profile's Chrome - User Data folder. This then means chrome starts from scratch, asking me to login again and sync everything. Not the end of the world, but a mighty pain in the arse. Since the first occurrence, i've clean-installed my laptop a few times. Chrome would have updated itself continuously. So i don't think it's a windows problem, and possibly not a chrome problem... unless there's something in my synced profile. If i run firefox, i can then access emby just fine, and it works as usual. Any ideas?

About 20 minutes ago noticed that emby-server is not running, restarting the server makes it appear "active" using service status, but it crashes immediately after that. I've been running Emby on Zesty (4.10.0-20-generic x86_64) for about 3 weeks now, had no issues before, so I'm not sure what caused this. sudo service emby-server status shows this Б≈▐ emby-server.service - Emby Media Server Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/emby-server.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) since Tue 2017-05-16 21:30:34 MSK; 9min ago Process: 10617 ExecStopPost=/usr/bin/emby-server clear (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 10571 ExecStart=/usr/bin/emby-server start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 10571 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) п╪п╟п╧ 16 21:30:31 HTPC systemd[1]: Started Emby Media Server. п╪п╟п╧ 16 21:30:31 HTPC su[10571]: Successful su for emby by root п╪п╟п╧ 16 21:30:31 HTPC su[10571]: + ??? root:emby п╪п╟п╧ 16 21:30:31 HTPC su[10571]: pam_unix(su:session): session opened for user emby by (uid=0) I attached the log from /var/lib/emby-server/logs. I have had LiveTV working for a while, but after a recent crash, the ServerWMC plugin did not show as installed anymore. Taking the opportunity to install the latest ServerWMC update (had to install manually since auto update was not working) I then installed the plugin in Emby and restarted. When it restarted it began to set each of my three tuners (HDHR Prime) to active. WMC was not showing the tuners were active, but could not open Live TV because there were no tuners available. ServerWMC showed the tuners as busy, but I could not get them to release from there. I had to restart my HDHR to get them to release. However, now every time Emby restarts the same thing happens. I looked through the Emby logs but couldn't see anything that showed an error during startup. This line repeated twice, but I don't know if that means anything: 2016-10-01 10:53:33.7352 Info App: Entry point completed: MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations.LiveTv.TunerHosts.SatIp.SatIpDiscovery. Duration: 0 seconds Any ideas what is going on? Other than the issues with startup, everything else appears to be working correctly. I did an uninstall/reinstall of the ServerWMC plugin to see if that would fix it, but it still occupies all the available tuners on startup, one by one.

Check for Updates on startup running for non-admin accounts
AdrianW posted a topic in Windows Media Center
There's an option in Emby WMC for it to check for updates on startup which is only supposed to run for admin accounts. But, for the last few weeks the "Update Now?" message has been appearing for non-admin accounts as well. -
Hey there so I decided I would get Media Browser not too long ago and so far it has been great when I can get WMC to work. The problem I am having right now seems simple to fix but so far it has resulted in me wasting over 3 or 4 hours to try and get the server to start on PC startup w/o logging in. Apparently this is difficult to accomplish and I really cannot understand why. I have disabled the startup on the dashboard and I don't have any startup tasks in task scheduler for the application or service turned on so I am stumped. Currently I have the service set to Automatic and I also tried Automatic (delayed start). Logon is set up as this account which has administrator priveleges and I also tried Local System Account. I also have recovery setup to restart the service each time it cannot start but that does nothing. I even added some dependencies to the service: Media Center Extender Service[Mcx2Svc], Network List Service[netprofm], and the default Server[LanmanServer} service. Some other things I tried were creating a task in task scheduler to run the actual application. I also tried running a bat/cmd file with the lines START "" "C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe" I also tried running the script in gpedit.msc under Local Computer Policy > Windows Settings > Scripts (Startup/Shutdown) > Startup . I attempted to save it as a BAT file and a CMD file but both do nothing. Maybe I need to add more dependencies (if so what?) ? Anyways as you can tell I have exhausted google searching and forum searching so any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

I use MediaBrowserServer-dev on a centos7 and use the repository from MediaBrowser. To make sure, I verified if sqlite is installed correctly: yum list sqlite sqlite.x86_64 3.8.2-2.1 @MediaBrowserServer-Dependancies so it is installed. Let's see if the files that it is unable to find are there: find / -name libsqlite3.so.0 /usr/lib64/libsqlite3.so.0 so the file does exist. Where is MediaBrowserServer looking for the file? Or what is going wrong?

Hi everybody, Been trying MBClassic/ MB3 server for the first time. On the whole its fantastic, but there's one thing that's anoying to me. Being in WMCE, I often go in and out of MB looking for something to watch, and everytime I go back to MBClassic, appears the splash screen that keeps me waiting some seconds before seeing the same library again. Looks like MBClassic were disconnected and connected again with the Server each time I get out and in. There were also a delay with MB2 and I got used to it, but it's longer now with MB3, and I really don't like the splash screen appearing every time. First: Is there some way to avoid the splash screen? Second: Some way to speed up MBC restart? Maybe forcing MBC to keep connected to the server, so the delay only appears the first time? Thanks in advance

Hi, Yesterday I finally made the step to go from MB 2.x to MB3 :-) After some issues with the MB server, (had to set the rights of the MB server in the 'startup' folder to administrator) it runs pretty good and faster than 2.x. (The MB server as well the MB classic are running on the same PC which I use as mediacenter.) Just two questions: In MB 2.x. it was possible to start up in MB automatically after the PC was turned on. I can not find that option anymore in MB3. Of course I can automatically start up MCE and go to MB3, but I prefer to have the MB3 classic screen immediately. Is it still possible? I also noticed that after I switched on my system and it starts with MCE, I can't open MB Classic because it can not find the server! I double checked this but the server seems to be running and after some few attempts it is found. Is this a known feature? Thanks for your help and the good work! Regards, Johan
