  1. I am new to Emby, and trying to transition from Synology Video Station. I want to save Emby metadata in a shared folder on my NAS (DS718+), so I can back it up & restore it more easily as needed. I created a shared folder "EmbyServer", but I didn't see Emby among the users, so I couldn't give permission when creating it (of note, Plex created a user when it was installed). When I go to Emby Settings>Library>Advanced settings (1st screenshot), I see an option to enter a path for the metadata. I tried entering /VOLUME1/EmbyServer, but that didn't work (path not found). I tried \\192.168.1.153:8096 (from 2nd screenshot below). I at least got a spinning circle, but eventually got the error message "Emby Server requires write access to this folder. Please ensure write access and try again". If I don't see an Emby option among the users, how can I give permission? The 3rd screenshot displayed the current paths that the metadata, etc is stored under. I can't seem to find these folders anywhere on my NAS. I assume they must be somewhere on the NAS itself. How do I find them? I was using File Station, search all shared folders & search all homes, with search all subfolders active.
  2. Hi there I have the version 4.7.13.0 of Enby server installed in Windows 11. Most of my media are in shared folders in another pc with Windows 10. In the Library setting I have set the (Optional) Shared network folder with the same UNC path used to add the shared folder. Emby can access the media without problem. But... If the pc that contains the media go to sleep for more then 12 hours, when Emby scans the library it delete all the media in shared folders. When I switch on the sleeping pc, I have to force a media library scan to get them back. Is there a way to prevent the scan to delete the media if the shared folder is not available? I would not extend the scanning time cause i like to have the library update and in any case if the pc go to sleep for too long the problem remains. I have found this 2018 comment that proposed a Missing Date that would be perfect for me. I cannot find this solution in my server. Is there a workaround to solve the problem? Thank you very much!
  3. I would like to put my data library on the synology shared folder /Music nfs enabled to read only. Probably an old question but how do to it ? map and shared networkfolder keep being refused \\192.xxx.xxx.xxx\Music Any extra settings on the rapsberry emby. a shared folder in the rapsberry gets my music collection but the emby does not connect directly with the nas
  4. Hello, I'm sorry, but I could not figure where to report bugs/issues with the docker: emby/embyserver image? So, I'm posting it here the bug is with the emby/embyserver:4.0.1.0 I've created a CentOS VM using VirtualBox. after that, I've followed the docker installation guide mentioned on docker.com then added my shared folders from [host] to [guest] with the read/write permissions of course. the problem is that the docker emby image, crashes and exit, if the '/config' location was pointed to a shared-folder from the [host]. even if it has the correct permissions! and here is some information: [host] Distro that is running VirtualBox: [deadsoul@workstation ~]$ cat /etc/redhat-release Mageia 5. I have an Ubuntu server, libreelec media player and a windows media player. Data is stored on a synology NAS. libreelec (standalone KODI) doesn't allow me to setup a mount point identical to the Ubuntu server so I use the shared folder option in order to direct play from the Synology NAS using the mount point I define on the libreelec. All works fine. From time to time I also use an old windows box to preview movies before I play them on my main system using a copy of Kodi. There is no nfs mount point equivalent in Windows that looks like a linux mount point (afaik). The first time I tried the windows Kodi recently I realized that is was working. I checked the Emby dashboard and it indicated that playback was direct play. Which is how the emby addon is configured. ?How is this working? Obviously this isn't an emergency but knowing how it works may clarify my understanding. Thanks
