The now playing section on the emby dashboard randomly clears out and doesn't populate any information of content being played until I reboot the server. I will see the start and end activity alerts but not active streams. Been noticing this over the past week or so. Never had this problem prior to emby server 4.8.3.0. Currently running on windows 10. I saw a similar thread in the Synology section but the conversation seemed to tie it to an issue with the Synology app. Is this a known issue with release 4.8.3.0 across all platforms ?

I have been using Mediabrowser for a while now and it seems to work exceptionally well. My current setup consists of a server running Mediabrowser3 and a bunch of DLNA clients (3 Rpis with OpenELEC and an Onkyo). I have made note of the following improvements that I think (and probably others) would find useful Mediabrowser doesn't allow queueing of content when using DLNA renderers (however if you use the option shuffle or play all it will start working its way though the items but that doesn't help if you wanted to make a list of different shows or songs). One option that I have been trying is to use a playlist however its much less convenient than just being able to select the queue option which is already in the feature set in some capacity and is more useful for single use lists. (At the moment I assume that the queue is handled by the clients, this would likely require that all playlists be handled by the server (at least to provide a better remote control experience for managing clients from other devices [eg phone using web UI to control HTPC or DLNA device). In addition to the above for queueing items in clients that support it (web UI) there doesn't appear to get to the current queue (mediabrowser/web/playlist.html) section from a mobile device (the button doesn't appear under any place that I have seen). Perhaps it would be reasonable to add an additional tab under the "remote control" page to provide access to this more conveniently. It would also be nice if the playlist could be reordered as required (could really apply to all playlists). Bonus would be if the playlist also provided some obvious feedback as to the current position (eg highlighting which item is currently playing). To make it a little more visual I have created a quick mock up (please excuse my brutal photoshop skills):

The latest blog update stated the now playing controls in the web client were updated. However upon updating to the last few versions, more and more buttons seems to be disappearing. I am on Server version 3.0.5667.6 with chrome and all that remains is a pause button with no time listed.... Here is the Log file

I haven't played music much through MBT, and I just recently tried playing a whole album (by pressing play when the album was selected) and I thought it would go maybe to a now playing list or something. It did not, the music played, but I had no idea what would be coming up next. I was just curious if there was any sort of now playing view to see a playlist/progress. Thanks

I have been trying out Breeze, Crystal, and Aztec. I love them all and would like to buy them. However, a small issue I can't seem to figure out for the life of me is how to turn off the now playing backdrop for these themes. If now playing is a movie, then everything runs nice and smooth. However, if you're watching live TV from windows media center and then start MBC, the background screen gets choppy and the theme moves incredibly slow. I would prefer not to have to stop playback of live TV just in order to use these themes. Is there a setting I'm overlooking to turn this off? Please help! Thanks in advance!

I understand that there is still a lot of work to be done with regards to music in MB3, but I wanted to submit some of the requests I have been looking for, but never found all at the same time in a media player. Hopefully all of these can be implemented at some point in the future as it would definitely satisfy all of my needs with regards to music playback. Crossfader Media Browser definitely needs a crossfader with options for amount of time to crossfade and whether to fade out when stopping playback or not. Also the option to cross fade only tracks within the same albums or artist might be useful too. Playback options Play modes - Alphabetical (plays tracks in order of track name) Numerical (plays tracks in order of track number) Random (plays tracks in a random order) Repeat (plays tracks again after finishing) Play from - All Genre Album Artist Artist Album Year Playlist If currently browsing a specific Genre/Artist/Album/etc., the play mode should only play music from that Genre/Artist/Album/etc. Otherwise, MB should request for the source to be chosen. Mutiple Genres/Artists/Albums/etc. should be able to be selected from a simple folder tree view of the entire library. When using Random, tracks should be played only from the chosen Genre/Artist/Album/etc. and can play from multiple Genres/Artists/Albums/etc. if they are also selected. The Repeat mode should be able to be combined with other play modes. Should also be able to use Repeat when only playing single tracks. Party Mode There should be an option to prevent people from exiting Media Browser, the Music library or the Music Now Playing screen without using some kind of remote/keyboard shortcut with a PIN/Password to unlock it. This could allow for other people to add songs from the library to the playlist themselves, or stop anyone from messing with it at all during a party or something like that. Now Playing Visualisations It would be great to have a variety of visualisation options for the Now Playing screen built-in, with the ability to add more via plug-ins (WinAmp style). Options should include whether the Album Art is displayed, what size it is displayed at, the screen position it is displayed and whether it is always displayed or only during the beginning/middle/end of the song or not at all. The same would go for other track details such as Artist, Album, Track number, Track title, Year, Genre, Rating or other comments if applicable. Things like the font, font size and font colour should also be customisable, even when a Theme is being used. There should be various background options such as something like the Album Art waterfall in Windows Media Center. It should be possible to tell it how fast to flow, whether to flow up/down/left/right, the size of the images, and whether or not it uses album art images from the entire library, or the current Genre/Artist/Year/Playlist/etc. ReplayGain Support Support for ReplayGain tags definitely needs to be included for both track and album gain. Using track gain values over album gain values can result in more consistent volume levels when playing random tracks from different albums. On the other hand album gain values are more recommended for listening to whole albums straight through. An option to use either track or album gain for different playback modes would be great.
