Feature Request. A present I have several user accounts setup for family members. When we sit down together to watch a movie we currently log into one account (Mostly mine), so obviously only this account gets the watched status. What happens then is everyone uses my account because there's isn't up-to date and it's "just easier". This results in my account telling me I've watched something when I haven't... I would like the ability to log into my account and select/deselect which other users are present so that when a movie/TV episode is watched together, their watched statuses are updated accordingly? The next time you log in again all other users would have been deselected. It could be implemented so each user account can do this, or only select user accounts can. Even a special "Family" user account, or multiple viewers button as long as everyone's watched status is correct. Even just ticking the users present on the login screen before login into an account.

Hi, Multiple versions of movies is not working for me. Both versions appear in the drop down but both versions are pointing to the same file (Kingdom of Heaven.mkv) under path in Metadata, so I can only play one version. I can't play the Directors Cut. Below is how the movie folder is setup: The same is happening for all other multi version movies.

Hi all, I want to use tags more. I am talking about the tags that can be set under "Edit Metadata". However, it is not very easy to set these tags, especially for multiple items. I would like to be able to set tags for several items (videos) at once. I like to illustrate my ideas, so here we go (see add tag in the drop-down menu for multiple selected items): That way I can easily add tags that will then be blocked in other peoples libraries (as an example). Hello, I'm making this post to request 3 features (mostly for mobile) 1. Set Language for Whole Season Currently, Emby allows users to set their preferred audio/subtitle languages which is very useful. However, many times, animes contain 2 English subtitle tracks. The 1st track is made to overlay Japanese signs & lyrics to complement the English dub, while the 2nd track is full subtitles (dialogue, signs, lyrics, etc). Emby has always chosen the first English subtitle track, as it technically complies with the user's preferences, but I would like a method to choose the specific English track and apply it on the whole season. It is very tedious to set the subtitles for every single episode. I usually use mkvpropedit.exe to change the defaults, but this is tedious as well. Thus, I propose a feature to change the subtitles for the whole season. Something I've observed while using mkvpropedit.exe is that sometimes the track names/ids differ each season. This means that setting the subtitles by series would not be very effective. 2a. Device Rotation (Upside-Down) I would greatly appreciate if upside-down device rotation could be disabled. I usually watch on my bed so holding my phone sideways is detected as upside-down. RPReplay_Final1641208628.mp4 2b. Device Rotation (Portrait Lock) I'd be cool if mobile users were given the option to lock their rotation (while browsing library). For phone users such as I, a portrait lock would be useful (without having to go in phone settings). Tablet users may prefer a landscape lock. I used to be able to delete multiple recordings at the same time... a feature that seems to be missing for me the past few weeks (probably since most recent update). Current Server Version: 4.4.2.0 ... with an Emby Premier subscription Below is a screenshot where I selected all the episodes of a series. Clicking the three dots in upper-right corner I expect to see the option to "Delete" but all I see is: Add to Collection Add to Playlist Download to... Mark Played Mark Unplayed Refresh Metadata I don't believe it is a permission issue because I can delete the files individually. Probably should also mention that the user I am using does have permission within emby to delete files: -Dave

The oddest thing happens. I see multiple entries of the same library multiple times and have no idea on how to get rid of that. Anyone with an idea?

Hi, Im not sure i'm posting in the right section off the forum its actually the first time I do so. I was just wonderring if by any chance there was a way to add multiple title to a same movie. In simple, I have some movie in a bylingual version and for some of them I reffer too their title in french and some other in english. Would it be possible to add 2 tittle to a movie in order that when i'm searching for it in my searchbar, event if its sorted name is his original one in english I may still find it with his french name.

Hi, can emby listening on multiple interfaces or on 0.0.0.0 ? I have at home 2 vlans, and I want to setup emby to be accessible from TV over DLNA from both networks. There is no problem access it over HTTP, but I want connect from smart TVs. I didn't find such a feature or option where I can set IP address. Thank You.

I have a folder for Movies which is the only folder in a library called "All movies." This library has metadata scanning turned on. Under the Movies directory, I have a subfolder called "New" which I have a separate library pointed to (library is named New). Folder structure: -Movies ----New ----A ----B ----C etc. Library setup: All movies > "Movies directory" New > "New directory" Nothing is showing up in the New library. Can a file only exist in a single library?

I have 2 emby server a) home nas company nas Is there a way of mapping the both together, so that I don't have to switch all time the server and that I have kind of a global search on both servers? Or how do you resolve this? Please tell me that this feature exists, and how to use thanks in advance

Multi-Angle / Multi-Video Track MKV Support and Recommendations

As I'm slowing converting some of my library to MKV, I'm encountering multi-angle / multi-video-track DVD's, and I'm wondering how folks tend to handle these, as well as what the current (and likely future) support is in Emby (particularly Emby Theater) for being able to recognize and switch between multiple video tracks (or angles) contained in a single MKV file? I thought I came across a post indicating that Emby does not currently provide a way to switch between multiple angles/video-tracks, but I can't seem to find that post so I may have imagined it. I realize that one option is to just rip 2 versions of the content, one with one angle/track, and the other with the other. The upside is that this route should circumvent any compatibility issues there might be with Emby or other players. The downside of course is potentially a lot of duplicated space (eg, in the case of a movie with just a few alternate scenes). How well does Emby handle multi-angle MKV's? And have any of you created multi-angle MKV's, and if so, what is your process? It appears to me that MakeMKV let's you pick one angle or the other, but it does not appear to me that it gives an option to combine them into a single file containing just the differing portions of each video track (and the ability, in supporting players, to switch between video tracks). I can probably live with going the route of creating multiple complete files, each with a different video track / angle, but figured it is worth checking if there are more efficient, supported ways of going about all this. Currently I’m trying to get a media server set up to play corporate messages and videos around the plant. I’ve managed to set up Emby a powerful Intel Xeon PC, and I’ve been able to cast a video file to one of our Panasonic smart tvs. However, this is not exactly the ideal situation. Ideally I want to be able to play a single folder, with multiple video files inside, and play it on a constant loop to the 8 TVs around the plant. Is this possible in Emby? Currently I’m only able to cast one file at a time, to one TV at a time...

I have tried searching for this and have come up empty. This is the scenario: I have set up a show to auto-record (let's use Blue Bloods for an example). I set it up to keep 7 shows. All 7 shows record and I keep them all. When it comes time for the 8th show to record does it Not record itor 2. Delete the first one (of the seven that are there) and record the 8th episode This is an option I would like to set in the series record options. Thank You, Mike

Hey there, I was just wondering if you guys can suggest any settings, tweaks, hacks, plugins, etc. for pushing the overall streaming performance when multiple users stream media. When I start a 1080p mkv movie ( in this case with dts) which triggers transcoding at 10 mbps the movie runs like it should... but as soon as another user starts streaming a movie like this, it sadly turns into a wallpaper-picture-show. While the overall performance of my server should be more then enough (100+mbit bandwidth, 2 cores, 32gb ram) there seems to be a pretty tight performance bottleneck somewhere and I hope you guys can help me fix that. My goal is to be able to stream for up to 5 users (from different sources like browser, fire stick, apple tv, and so on) at the same time without any lags. what do I need to know and understand here? how to manage this? how/what to tweak? what topics should I look deeper into? Any input on this topic is greatly appreceated for I am new to this software. Thanks in advance Soki

I'm new to Emby Live TV feature and loving it so far. Sorry if this was asked before but after a search nothing came up. I'm in Spain using a HDHR tuner (HDHR4-2DT) connected to the antenna to tune free to air channels in the DVB-T system. With digital TV we now have the option to choose different audio tracks (ie: spanish, english) and also subtitles (I think is similar to close caption in the US but not exactly the same). Question is: does Emby support to select different audio tracks from a live tv stream (I couldn't see any option) and also to enable subtitles? If yes, does Emby need to have guide data available to support it or it should work without it? Thanks

I have a silly question... I know Emby controls the play state and metadata for movies for Kodi, and that I can install Kodi with the Emby plugin on multiple machines. For each machine, do I have to configure the user(s) and do a full scan so there is a local Kodi database on that PC, or can I used advancedsettings.xml and point all machines to one Kodi DB so I don't have to create a local copy on each? Or... is all that irrelevant? I was pretty sure that even with Emby, you have to have a local Kodi database on each PC, which then gets synced via Emby each time you start up. Hope that's not too confusing of a question...

Hi, I have an album with 2 CDs and with that he would have 2 cdart. But the Emby are downloading just a cdart, there is no way of the Emby download the two cdart? I have separated the CD1 in a folder and CD2 in another, the Emby could not download the respective cdart in each folder? Thanks! Sorry my english.

Duplicate Server - Show Artist & Person Views and their Content 'Correctly'

3.0.5526.29593 Similar to http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/8745-artist-listed-twice-in-album-artist-folder/?hl=duplicate In a similar way as to how it is impossible to identify incorrect similar artist ID3 tags from within MBS.... due to MBS Person and Artist views showing the Artist/Person names as matched rather than as is.... and the content against the Matched Person/Artist rather than Person/Artist as is... People Views also exhibit this problematic symptom..eg abby eliott The two source entities which created these two objects are 'Abby Elliot' and 'Abby Elliott'... in this case the 2nd 'incorrect' person object 'Abby Elliot' came from a gueststars tag on a series.xml.... Unfortunately it is impossible to use MBS to find the offending tag/source object and correct... because 1. The person/artist object is shown as matched rather than as is...so searching for the incorrect value outside MBS is obfuscated..(although looking at the IBN entry/path can help) 2. clicking on both person objects in UI shows content for the same matched person on the fetcher...NOT...the content which precipitated the object. Clicking one of the objects..the object for 'Abby Elliott' should show 3 episodes of HIMYM where the actor is defined...and it does... Clicking on the other object ..the object for 'Abby Elliot' (also shown as 'Abby Elliott') should show 1 Series of HIMYM where the actor is defined. but it doesnt... its shows the previous / same as above... The feature request is.... to name the Artist/Person objects in their respective views, as is not as matched... to not hide the content from the user which precipitated the object in the view..eg (the tags on) the tracks which precipitated the artist or e.g. the TVDB actor metadata which precipitated the person. or better yet...in this example There should be two person objects, one Abby Elliot - Identified and Matched (because it does) - showing content for 'Abby Elliott' and the other Abby Elliot - Not identified or Matched (because it doesn't) - Show content for 'Abby Elliot' Then when the duplicate/incorrect entry is identified...it would be obvious why..and the correction simple... thanks for considering..
