I use VLC as my player since it has features that I use regularly. To name a few - Snapshot - Frame by Frame Playback - HUD (Playback Controls) hides very fast However, one thing that I wish were possible is to add audio and subtitle language on a per series basis. The way to implement this is simply by adding {audio-lang} and {subtitle-lang} to the argument list. Right now, the only arguments that can be "imported" from emby are {path}, {ms} and {Seconds}. Among these, only {path} can really be used since the other two cannot be sent from the external player back to Emby. So even if you stop in the middle of a movie/episode, it will not get that timecode. Unless I'm getting something wrong here, those two arguments aren't really useful. I think adding {audio-lang} and {subtitle-lang} would be much more useful and can be implemented the same way it does with Emby's Player, which I'm assuming uses the id for each track. As an example, I'll use VLC and MPV. VLC: {path} --audio-track={audio-lang} --sub-track={subtitle-lang} MPV: {path} --aid={audio-lang} --sid={subtitle-lang} In both these cases, {audio-lang} and {subtitle-lang} would be stream numbers/integers. My current VLC arguments are: {path} --audio-language=en,jp,any --sub-language=eng The reason I do not like this is because having eng as my audio does not select forced subtitles or "Signs and Songs". Would love to see this implemented if possible.

Hi all, As the title suggests, I am trying to get the best compatibility out of the Apple TV app but having a few issues. Using the native tvOS player (MPV unchecked) 5.1 surround audio works great, with a wide variety of formats (AC3, AAC, Dolby, etc). I would be happy to use the native player all the time, but unfortunately this forces transcoding sometimes as it appears to have limited video codec compatibility. As a result, once in a while I switch on the MPV player in the client app settings in order to prevent transcoding, but none of my 5.1 audio works when I do. The server dashboard doesn’t suggest any transcoding or downmixing to stereo, is there anything I can do to fix 5.1 audio with the MPV player enabled? thanks, AK

Hi I'm using emby theater 3.0.0 and it only has the MPV player. I have setup the Video setting with the following configurations Change display refresh rate to match video: Check Preferred Refresh Rates: Tried these combinations 23,24,60. Only one at a time to make the experiment as small as possible and with/without and ; at the end. I have tested it with a bluray rip, that I know is 23.976. The player stats page reports the original framerate that my system is running with, which is 50. If I look in the screen resolution page, then it also reports 50. You can also see with the naked eye that the tv isn't switching. I been running with MadVR with all these frequency without an issue, so the system is capable. How do I fix this????? Feature request: It would be nice to see the video frame rate on the stats page and not only the display.

Hi, it seems the settings for the 3d conversation mode are not working anymore in ET 3.0?! (I think it already didn't work in 2.9.9) I had it set to mono (convert to 2d), but now all 3d videos are played with the setting none (no conversation). I tried it on two different installations, both with the same result. I tried different settings, all are ignored. Does ET use the video-stereo-mode setting of mpv? In the documentation it is mentioned: "Set the stereo 3D output mode (default: mono). This is mostly broken and thus deprecated." So, maybe ET sets it but it doesn't work anymore in mpv? As I understand, instead of this setting, a video filter should be used? So, based on ffmpeg, mpv should be able to support this 3d output filters? This would be intresting, as there is an hdmi mode, which should be the sae as the hardware based mode in Kodi, which works pretty well for me (and is one of the main reasons, I'm using Kodi besides ET. Is there any chance to fix the 3d mode in ET? Thanks & Ciao, Alfred
