Hi, since some years ago I am using emby to provide media movies and series to all my family and friends. I have tested too many options, like .avi, .mp4 and mkv files.. transcoding... no transcoding.. sata hard disk,, ssd disk, ect... The problems begin when emby need to transcode, when needs to play in your TV android, or TVbox android, or Chromecast, or computer , Ipad, ect , ect. In all cases, I test all the transcode options that emby support , using also one Nvidia Video Card. Gforce GTI1080 Some day I am watching a drama fever serie online , and I discovering that dramafever company use flv files.. mmm the file in 1080p run amazing fast and smoth with 0 freezes and buffering I decided to experiment converting all my mp4 and mkv files in a flv file without subs and using just one native languaje. with movavi video convert software.., from that point I discovered that emby start flv file in 0.0001 second so faster. no transcoding, no use computer waste procesing... so smooth I play in 6 devices at the same time at 1080p movies and series to test server procesor working, and the server work so smooth most performance and dont hurt in transcoding procesing when i play a mp4 file... the server beign to trasncode and movie begin at 60 seconds. when I play a mvk movie is most later ,,, at 2.25 mutes and computer hurts. Computer is Intel Core i7 with 48 ram memory . (nas qnap 8 hard disk) The conclucion to me is: FLV files is most amazing format to use emby in all your different devices like chromecast, android, tv, and computer flv files dont turns slow the server when transcoding Flv files dont experiment freeze moments in movie like we experiment using mkv or mp4 (buffering) flv file playing: WITH MP4 OR MKV FILES: THANKS !!

After the most recent update, emby server won't play any flv files - this includes files that previously have played correctly. When I try to play them on my Roku, it just fails to play them. When I try to play them in the web interface, it shows "Video Error There was an error playing the video". I don't think I changed any settings, so I'm not sure why they aren't playing now. I have an mp4 file that also won't play, and gives me the same video error in the web interface. However, other mp4 files will play.
