    How did I get here?

Hi, odd happening today. My wife (who is visually impaired) was watching videos streaming from my desktop server. She asked "What's this thing on the screen?" I looked, and on the right side of the screen, while the video was still playing, was a Display of all the video characteristics of the video being played. Basically, everything you ever wanted to know about a video. I asked "How did you get here?" And of course, she had no idea. I pressed Back. And then resumed the video. It started OK, but about 10-15 seconds later the display reappeared. Hit Back again, chose another video, but the same thing happened. So I re-booted the Firestick, and all was well. So -- how did she get there? How do you turn it off (without re-booting). George
  2. Hi I'm having trouble connecting to my server on my firestick 4K and 4K Max. I keep getting error connecting to server or unable to reach my laptop I have been trying for a month nothing is working. On my laptop it connects good on both my edge and chrome browser on my laptop but not my firestick anymore. It was working fine on my firestick last month then it wouldn't connect anymore April 2nd haven't since then, I have tried alot of things on the help forms in the emby community none worked. I don't know what else to do or what else to try or look for, is there any help I can get with this please ?
  3. Hi there, Recently I've been encountering issues with playback of Opus 7.1 audio on my Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen). I'm wondering if this is a known issue or if anyone else has experienced similar crashes. I haven't found any reports of this specific problem here. Upon playback of videos with Opus 7.1 audio, my Fire TV Stick crashes entirely and subsequently restarts. This isn't limited to the Emby app, the entire Fire TV Stick crashes and restarts. After pressing play, the buffer wheel may show for a second, followed by a freeze. Finally, the screen turns black and the Fire TV Stick restarts. Unfortunately, the crash within the Emby for Android TV app happens too quickly to be able to use the send logs option. However, I've included logs from a sideloaded Emby for Android app, which also crashes during playback of opus 7.1 audio. Further context: I've only observed this issue with AV1 videos containing Opus 7.1 audio. 5.1 audio seems to play without problems (all tested files had AV1 video in an mkv container). This issue recently emerged; I was previously able to direct play AV1 with Opus 7.1 audio successfully. Playback works flawlessly using an external player like MPV. The crashing files play without issues on my PC (both in browser and using media players like VLC). I've tested various Emby app versions, both for Android TV (from the Fire TV store and sideloaded, including Beta) and Emby for Android (Sideloaded), and the crashes occurred with every app tested. My Fire TV Stick is up-to-date with the latest software updates. Interestingly, there have been a few instances where the same 7.1 audio that caused a crash just minutes before then played successfully. Yet trying again a few minutes later would trigger another crash. The crash seems to occur regardless of which of my two servers I stream from (one running version 4.8.1.0 and the other on Beta 4.9.0.5). The emby for android log that includes the crash states that everying is supported (supported=YES) which is backed up by the fact that these same files had no problem direct playing previously and can be also still be played via an external player. Emby server versions tested: 4.8.1.0 Stable 4.9.0.5 Beta Emby for Android TV app versions tested: 2.0.98a 2.0.93a 2.1.07a Beta Emby for Android app versions tested: 3.3.07 3.3.70 3.3.72 The crashing has occured on all versions I've tested. Fire TV Stick 4K OS: Fire OS 8.1.03 (RS8103/2083) Fire TV Home Version: 6500118.1 Media I've experienced having this issue: AV1 10bit video with Opus 7.1 audio in MKV format (1080p SDR) If any more info is needed, please let me know Thanks ~ Inten embyserver log - fire tv crash at 15.06.14.txt emby_android_1709130874679 - Log With Crash.txt
  4. Hi, I'm brand new to the Fire TV stick. I've been using a shield and a Sony tv with Android TV previously. I'm having an issue with high bitrate files (50+ Mbps) that kill the Fire TV stick and make it shut down. I have tried adjusting the max quality from Auto to 1000 to 160 to 130 to 120 to 100. I have also tried toggling match frame rate and resolution options. My Fire TV stick is getting 150+ Mbps speed in the native OS speed test. Amazon have replaced the device twice already. Is this an issue with the emby app or the Fire TV stick? Thanks, Sam
  5. Hi guys, I have a number of Amazon FireStick's that used to play all (the ones I wanted to watch) avi files I have, but lately I can not get any playback. Just the spinning blue circle. Emby Server 4.7.6.0 Version 2.0.79a Registered The only way I have managed, so far, to work around the problem, is to, in the FireStick Emby app go; settings > playback > use external player for videos (check) and then select an avi file for playback. The avi file then plays through Kodi. Playback on the web app works fine. Other file formats tried seem fine. I have tried through the Android app (3.2.67) on the same Amazon FireStick with the same no playback, spinning blue circle. Attached is a sample extract of a video file and a logfile from the server while trying to playback that file. Any suggestions? Edit, 16 minutes later, playback has started. Tail logfile attached. Edit, another 14 minutes later, started the non-extracted version of the attached file. Playback started but no audio or video. video_sample.avi embyserver.txt embyserver(playback started).txt
  6. Hi Guys, I have an Amazon Fire Stick 4K on which I've installed Kodi 19.1 and the video Emby next-gen-6.0.2-build 110 (ex14) plugin. The connection wizard appears and I manually enter my Emby server and login details. The sync completes and playback works as expected. The problem: If I close Kodi then open it again (or disable and re-enable the plugin) the connection wizard re-appears and I have to enter the details again. The only information/error message I have managed to get on screen is if I configure the plugin, select "Add user to session", top right appears Emby for Kodi Your access to Emby is restricted. Steps taken to produce logfile: Open Kodi Login to plugin Add user to session Disable plugin Enable plugin Help, suggestions, questions appreciated Edit: Deleted Kodi profile, created new, added plugin build 158 (ex22) but problem remains. logfile-20210727.txt

  9. I'm currently in a trial version on Emby. II'm having the same issue that Plex is having with some movie files (mkv, mp4 etc). I've seen jumbled screen or it won't play at all. Any thoughts? Of course, if I can get this fixed, I will become a premier member. These files will play if I use my computer but won't play on the firestick app.
