Pull TV Show Images from a different season or main series
shanarago posted a topic in Feature Requests
I've run into several instances where a season of a show doesn't have a cover I like, or in some cases no image at all. Usually, I can find a replacement image from either the main series or different season that is suitable. But to do this I either need to temporarily download the image on the series or season so can grab it and place it in the right season, or search for it myself. It would be far less cumbersome if I could just pull from whatever image associated with the series. I made a graphic on how it could possibly look. -
Hello ebr - I misuse this channel for an enhancement request If you give us full control over the space to the border of the image we can do things like this: @MatthiasM This improve the effect of "tags" a lot! and can be done by adding 4 integers at your input mask for the distance measured in pixel, 1 for each direction. Plus an optional integer for the image rotation of the tag-images or this have to be done by an external painting tool. OK I have no clue what this means to youre source code but for me it is a nice idea PS thx to Craggles for sharing such cool Tag-Images!

Just wondering if its even a possibility for coverart to help with the collage image of a playlist and then also the items inside of them not being treated?

@ebr Would it be possible in the future to somehow add a "custom keyword in filename" option as an item type? I'd like to differentiate 1080p movies that are Remuxes and the ones that are not instead of labelling all of them with a BD cover. Or maybe add a "bitrate" option instead if it's easier to implement? (ie: if bitrate greater than "custom bitrate" mbps) For example: Create Specific Selection This Item Type "Custom Keyword" Custom Keyword "remux" Should Use This Cover "BD" Add Selection

Hi, I want to know if there is a way to show Music CoverArt in correct ratio (i.e. other than forcing 1:1) in the folder view or in player. I have recently updated from 4.6.xx to 4.7.xx version. In the previous version, although Music CoverArt in folder view will be forced in 1:1 ratio, in player view, the art will be shown in correct ratio. However, I noticed that the player cannot show the Music CoverArt in correct ratio anymore in 4.7.xx version, after adding lyrics function and some changes on the buttons. For example, the song "to the beginning" is forced to show its CoverArt in 1:1 in folder view. The cover is actually 1710x1920. In the previous version, when I click the bar in the bottom, the player will show up and I cannot see the art in correct ratio. In this version, even after closing the playlist view and have the screen only display the CoverArt, it is still 1:1. Sorry I couldn't provide the screenshot that the player showing the art in correct ratio in older version. Is there any way to display the CoverArt in correct ratio? (Music Folder OR Music Player) Thank you!

I'm wondering if there is a resource file that shows us the naming conventions and image sizes to use when creating custom art. for example I want to create a custom subtitle icon for English. I have created one and named it subt_en.png but it doesn't seem to work, should it be named subt_eng.png? can i have an icon for Und subtitles eg subt_Und.png or a default for unknown subtitles also, are we limited to file image size, for example 100x100 pixels

Hi, Since i don't know exactly when, but i think one of the more recent updates is have problems with various, but not all plugins. For example the podcasts plugin is only showing an [Add] button, which doesn't do anything when i press on it. All podcast added before are still there but i can't add or config any new ones. The same is true for the CoverArt plugin. There is only a non-responsive [Add] button. Other plugins like the Server Config Backup don't show any backups which where made before and pressing on the Backup location magnifier doesn't give a response. There are few other plugins which don't work anymore, while others are still working, such as the Addi7ed and Playback reporting plugins. Removing and re-installing the troublesome plugins doesn't solve the issues... I am running the latest version for Qnap, 4.6.7.0. I have added a few images to show how it looks like. Apart from these plugins, it seems the Emby server is running fine. Is this a known bug or problem and is there something what i could do to solve this? And hopefully something else of course as completely reinstalling everything... [Edit] It seems like the scheduled task for the server config backup is still running and putting backups in the location which was configured before. These backups only don't show up in the plugin. Thank you in advance, Bartype

One of my libraries contains only folders with mixed songs - the tags are adapted to work better for DLNA usage - therefore e.g. the title is "Darkness", but the album is "Pop-Shuffle". As the Folder contains ~150 titles i would like to use the embedded cover art for all of them (as it differs mostly). Even tho i have Media extracting activated (and it works) all songs in one album have the cover from the first one - is it possible to change that? P.S. i used to have my organised library and the 'mixed folders in one server, so i gave them all the artist "Playlists" to not destroy the artist and ablum tab with many duplicates/incomplete artists MFG Raimund

WAF alert, again. Would it be possible for plugin to display multiple subtitle icons on covers? All of my media has accompanied subtitles in several languages: English by default (for own use), Croatian (local - for Queen's usage), Bosnian (if no Croatian or auto-downloaded), Serbian (if no Croatian or auto-downloaded). Since Croatian (Hrvatski, .hr) is actually alphabetically behind English - and what I've surmised, first srt (if present or subrip if not), is the one displayed on covers, all my libraries have abt. 95% English icons, so SHE still has to actually enter each item and click-click-click to check whether local subtitles are present or not. You can imagine that I'm not hearing the end of it. What would possibly spare me a lot of grief is CoverArt to display icons for at least first 2-3 subtitles? Crude mock-ups attached to get a better idea. Thanks in advance. Cheers

CoverArt 4.1.10.0 Emby 4.5.4.0 Emby sees the file correctly as 1080p, but applies the 720p Logo instead of the 1080p Logo as it does with 1920x1080 files. Any way to fix such cases?

Hi! Im trying to add a custom indicator overlay to my movies. I have added a hdtype_UHD.png file that I want to use, and CoverArt is trying to apply them but encounters an error as stated in the logs below. Permisions should not be an issue. EDIT: Solved! The image was too big. Max res is 236*354 (w*h) embyserver.txt

Good morning all Recently, I've noticed the Blu-Ray or 4k banner on top of the cover is not displaying. It was previously working perfectly, although recently I've noticed it not working correctly. I'm not sure when this started, as I only noticed it yesterday - but I would suggest it's within the last couple weeks. This banner is generated through the CoverArt plug in, which is still operating with default settings. I've never adjusted any of these settings for general use and it's always worked as expected. I have of course attempted changing settings in this as part of my troubleshooting, but have been unable to fix the issue. It seems very intermittent as to what titles show the banner and what do not. They are all in the same parent folder and there also appears to be no correlation with it being a problem for 1080p BluRay titles or 2160p 4K UHD titles A screenshot below shows the issue, where some titles show the banner and some do not. I have also tried installing older versions of the plug in, to see if it's a recent issue, but have been unable to fix through this means too. Rescanning the library also doesn't make a difference. Does anyone have any advice or has experienced similar issues? Emby Server is running on Win 10, and the application version is 4.5.3.0 and the plug in version is 4.1.10.0 (although I have tired all the versions available for install back to 4.0.99

I use Coverart to display whether a movie is HD or SD. I have many 720p movies that might have been 4:3 originally. After the margins have been trimmed, the resulting 720p file has a width less than 1200. That appears to be the cut-off where CoverArt decides whether you have an HD or SD movie even though Emby labels it 720p. Many movies end up with a width in the 960-1199 range that are clearly 720p (HD). A 4:3 720p movie will have a width of 960. On the movie's page, Emby displays Video: 720p H264, but Coverart still uses the SD treatment. Is there some way we can set that or have it changed? It would be great if 960 were the cut-off instead of 1200. Or does anyone have a workaround for this very annoying Coverart issue? Thanks

Bit of a long post here. I am having issues with CoverArt as well (I think) from Emby Server. Example of issue; I have a movie - Alita in 1080. 4K & 3D. All 3 versions reside in the same folder allowing to have one movie entry with 3 versions listed to select from. In the case of my 3D movies, I have them located in a separate folder, along with their other versions, from my non-3d movies. I do this so I am able to set CoverArt to add the 3D indicator to the Poster. Here's the catch; The 3D indicator won't appear on the poster UNLESS I go into the metadata and add the 3D Format to it. Once that is done and I re-select the poster image the 3d indicator is applied. BUT, this causes another issue. When I do the above, the Version drop-down to select which version to watch changes the "3D' to "3D/3D" for an option. I am uploading screen shots to help explain the issue. Appreciate any help that can be provided! Folder structure. Movie Version selection and NO 3D indicator. Metadata without the 3D format selected. I select the 3D format and save the metadata I edited images and selected my poster preference. This is the new display. 3D indicator shows but now the versions is "3D\3D"

Would like to be able to add an "Indicator Overlay" to my Boxsets (Collections). Would help to identify Collections that contain a Movie in say 3D format. For example I have a collection for Blade Runner but only 1080 & 4K versions. No Indicator needed. Another collection for Avengers. One movie is only 4K but 3 others are 4K and 3D. 3D Indicator wanted. This way when looking thru my Collections media, I can instantly tell which collections have 3D movies in them. I can see this being helpful for 4K movies as well. Thanks!

I recently moved my Emby server from a Windows 10 box to an xubuntu 19.10 box. Both versions were running Emby v4.3.1.0 and the latest CoverArt plugin. It ran fine on Windows. On my xubuntu box, the posters for my movies are small, and there is a lot garbled image around them (sometimes you can see other cases/posters). You can see in the attachment. I think it's only for movies - the TV around episodes and the border for home videos looking like film are working fine. Thanks in advance.

In current CoverArt plugin, there is no preview of icons or custom indicator overlays for "Resolution" and "Audio" for the following tabs in setup interface: Media InfoIcons for Video and Aspect ARE working in above interface. In current CoverArt plugin, there is no preview of internal or custom indicator overlays for subtitles for the following tabs in setup interface: Subtitles The previews are working ONLY in these setup interfaces: 3D Specials A movie says more than thousand words, so I made a screen recording (in Chrome) of the bug, in the CoverArt setup interface: https://streamable.com/0n80u (The first part of the movie is the working part in 3D and Specials section of the CoverArt plugin setup interface.

Hello, I have recently started using music library in my emby and was wondering if its possible to have different overlays for music albums based on source of audio. I have been using MusicBee on my windows and there is option to add icon overlay based on what tag is in parent folder name. It looks like this Would something like this be possible with this plugin? Like when there is -Vinyl- in folder name it would show Vinyl cover instead of CD case. Thanks

The option for "People" treatment style is no longer available in CoverArt. Is this intentional or is there something wrong with my install of the plug-in? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Hi @@ebr, Would it be possible if you could add tag-based profiles to CoverArt? I find the directory-based profiles very cumbersome to setup with a large-ish library. Using tag-based profiles would be a lot more user friendly. I currently use the flat treatment for SD/HD and mixed content, and the case treatment for movies and series I rip myself. Having profiles set up in this manner would be a lot easier to maintain than having to setup a profile for separate seasons, then the series, as some series have content from mixed sources or qualities.

Hi @@ebr, I am currently using custom mediainfo icons for CoverArt, of which there is one named ddplus.png, I ended up duplicating this and naming it eac3.png, it for some reason is not being used and as a result I have a lot of tv episodes and some movies which do not display a codec icon. The mp3 icon doesn't seem to display either.

Setting the custom image location with the Emby interface doesn't save the path correctly (missing backslash "\" at end of path) in coverart.xml. This is happening here: Using the "browse" method (in Edge) for selecting path in this screen, doesn't automatically place a backslash at the end of the path in the coverart.xml. Resulting in errors in Log: Line 795: 2019-04-10 16:53:06.153 Warn CoverArt: CoverArt - Undefined overlay type: C:\Users\Senna\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\CoverArt\Custom-Overlayshdtype_1080 The backslash has to be entered manually at the end of custom location path, to make it work.
