First, EMBY is the best Media Server ever, it's worth every cent I paid for the Premier license! I loved the introduction of the Composer tab for music media. I'm a classical music lover and I have more than 20,000 titles over more than 1,000 albums. Browsing through the composer tab for classical music is way more effective and direct than for album artists or artists as you may have literally thousands of these (they may include not only composers but also performers, orchetras, etc...) Unfortunately the browsing through Composers loses all its potential as in the Composer detail page you can see only the songs for that composer. They may be thousands (like for Beethoven) making the great idea of adding the Composer tab not that useful. Just adding the section "Albums" and "Appears on" like for the user journey with the "Artists" and "Album Artists", will empower the Composer tab. It will probably be not a big change and is a quick win. I hope you could add it in one of the future version. Thanks Gerry Artist Detail Page (with 'Albums' and 'Appears On') Composer Detail Page (without 'Albums' and 'Appears On')

Emby Video Content Browser - to find and delete dead content
tantchen posted a topic in Tools and Utilities
Hi All, over the years we added thousands of videos and series to our remote-server, but every disc becomes full. Then it is difficult to decide which content can be deleted. So i have create a little angular tool that collects the video items from the emby-api and shows it in a table. There you can filter and sort the items by several properties. Today i pushed the project to github.com because like to share it with the community. https://github.com/tantchen/emby-library-browser -
Is it possible to bring back the ‘open in new tab’ functionality? If I'm not mistake there was a time where this was supported. I found this very useful. The latest release is great but in certain scenarios you have to click a lot more to reach your desired destination. Adding the middle mouse click functionality would be a very nice for quickly browsing your library. Other use case; I like to show my library to my guests and if they point out something they like to watch I have to create a collection to have an overview. Simply middle clicking would be a lot easier.

Hi I added my media folder with mixed content. The server scanned and finished it all. I also enabled the "folders" in the dashboard. When I go through the "folders" window to access my content via folder structure, I see that not all folders are really folders. After couple folders down it shows all the videos in the folder which is like hundreds of media. THey are shown as "episodes" (browsing via Folders) and they are normaly sitting inside other folders in that folder. So my question is about how to really organize around folders to make sure I can browse the folder hierarchy properly. As of now, whatever I tried did not work and after couple folders down in the hierarchy the idea of folder browsing breaksdown and Emby just shows everything in those folders recursively which is what I do not want. I am thinking that this must be a bug because why is showing "episodes" while I am browsing them through Folders. thanks

This seems to be a new behavior that I don't recall ever happening. My 10 year daughter showed me some very inappropriate background images being displayed while she browsed the kids library. The background images were from movies that she doesn't have access to. So if she doesn't have access to those movies, why are background images from those movies being displayed in the kids library? I recall that before only images from movies that she had access to were shown in the background while browsing. The only thing I have found is that I can go into each client as the kid user and disable backgrounds, but this needs to be done with many different clients and there is nothing stopping the kids from turning the backgrounds back on. Please help.
