  1. Hello everyone, I'm having trouble playing/streaming dsf music/audio files from Emby DLNA to my Sony Blu-Ray UBP-X700 using remote apps on my iPhone (mainly three: mConnect, 8Player Pro, and nPlayer Plus). Using the Twonky server, I have no issues what so ever direct streaming DSD dsf files to my UBP-X700 and from there playing it on my YAMAHA receiver which indicates its a DSD stream and plays it perfectly, even Multichannel DSD dsf files play perfectly with full surround. I don't even touch anything in terms of configurations in Twonky. With Emby, this does not work. On my remote apps, it sees the Emby DLNA server perfectly with no issues. If I choose to play mp3 AC3 or even dts files, everything plays with no issues, however if I choose to play a DSD dsf file, I get an error message "device sent an error response" and "Open command failed" depending on the Remote app I use. So, is there support to play DSD dsf files this way from Emby??!! I'm sure that it can be done, but how?? I would like to use Emby and I'm already on Premium and have come across some people on the Internet who successfully done that and be able to stream DSD dsf files over Emby's DNLA. I even seen a review about that somewhere on the net. I would appreciate it if I can get an answer please.
  2. Good morning all Recently, I've noticed the Blu-Ray or 4k banner on top of the cover is not displaying. It was previously working perfectly, although recently I've noticed it not working correctly. I'm not sure when this started, as I only noticed it yesterday - but I would suggest it's within the last couple weeks. This banner is generated through the CoverArt plug in, which is still operating with default settings. I've never adjusted any of these settings for general use and it's always worked as expected. I have of course attempted changing settings in this as part of my troubleshooting, but have been unable to fix the issue. It seems very intermittent as to what titles show the banner and what do not. They are all in the same parent folder and there also appears to be no correlation with it being a problem for 1080p BluRay titles or 2160p 4K UHD titles A screenshot below shows the issue, where some titles show the banner and some do not. I have also tried installing older versions of the plug in, to see if it's a recent issue, but have been unable to fix through this means too. Rescanning the library also doesn't make a difference. Does anyone have any advice or has experienced similar issues? Emby Server is running on Win 10, and the application version is 4.5.3.0 and the plug in version is 4.1.10.0 (although I have tired all the versions available for install back to 4.0.99
  3. Emby server v4.3.1.0 Arch Linux I have added several blu-ray folders and although Emby identifies them correctly, it does not detect the language of the audios and subtitles.
Saludos. embyserver.txt
  5. As part of preparation for a planned conversion to ET from WMC I have set up an external player entry for VLC to play commercial bluray discs in ET - my VLC install has appropriate 64-bit libaacs and libbdplus updates. Unfortunately I'm always getting a "HeaderPlaybackError" message returned by ET with direction to insert a disc, despite a bluray disc being present in the one-and-only optical drive in the client PC running ET. Emby Server is running on a different PC on the home network and I'm using a stub for the disc library entry. My metadata/artwork is not held with the media folders. Here are my settings: Stub entry \\Emby Server\Shared Emby Movie Stubs\Early Man (2018)\Early Man (2018).bluray.disc Player path C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe Command line arguments --fullscreen --play-and-exit --bluray-menu bluray:///E:\ Having turned logging on for VLC it seems that ET is not invoking VLC at all so the error message would appear to come from ET itself. If I (temporarily) replace the last two command line arguments with {path} and set VLC to be used for video files, playback of all HDD-based media I've tried is fine through ET, though obviously via VLC rather than the ET internal player. If I set up a desktop shortcut replicating the VLC bluray parameters above, this plays bluray discs fine. I've tried using a .bat file definition for the external player that would then invoke VLC, as I have done within WMC, but again ET did not seem to try to invoke the .bat file. I've even tried using different users at both the Emby and Windows level (standard user and administrator) in case it may have been a permissions issue but the same result. I've scoured the forums but have not been able to find any similar problem reported. I'm hoping I've missed something obvious and someone in the Emby community will be able to put me back on the straight-and-narrow. If anyone thinks they may be able to advise but needs extra information from me I'll supply whatever I can - though having tried debug logging on the server and for ET nothing relevant seems to be reported. Although the problem could be circumvented by ripping all the bluray discs to HDD using MakeMKV or similar, I would like to get direct disc playing working which seems to have been achieved successfully with ET by others. Edit: ET (3.0.3), Emby Server (3.5.3.0) and VLC (3.0.4) being used are the latest stable versions. Many thanks in advance for any help.

    Blu Ray movies

I am trying to upload my entire movie collection and am using Wondershare to transfer my DVD's, but can't figure out how to convert my blu ray movies. Any suggestions?
  7. Hi Folks, I am using Emby for a while now and I really enjoy it for DVD playback - I have digitised all of my DVD library which works great. I have recently moved on to my BluRay library and I am noticing a playback issue using the browser as a player, I also have an emby app on an android TV box and notice the same issue. The server Emby is on is purpose built CPU: AMD FX 6300 Hexa Core Processor 3.50GHz RAM: 32 GB OS: Currently Windows 10, Planning to switch to Server 2016 Storage: OS Disk 500GB SSD 500meg Read 500meg Write (where Emby is installed) Video Storage Disk 1+2 8 TB HDD 7200 RPM 128meg cache The MKV's from the BluRays are usually circa 30GB in size I will say that I am extremely new to emby and video stuff in general so I am not sure what info is useful and what's not. The settings on emby are defaults as per the installation. One thing I noticed when playing the Blu Ray files from Emby is the Network usage shoots up on the emby server - Not sure if its expected/normal or if I need to consider NIC teaming The other thing I noticed is if I sit and suffer the freezes (and there are lots) usually mid way through the movie it will stop freezing and/or happen less frequently unless you rewind or fast forward. Does anyone have any setting recommendations I could try just to rule out simple stuff?? I have done all the usual host stuff such as ensure power management is not switching off stuff, all drivers are up to date, disk read/write is fine and tonnes of space for the temp/cache directory. Any/All suggestions greatly welcome Also if there are some logs I can provide to help, or do a debug during playback, just tell me what and Ill get it done. Cheers M

    Bluray NFO Location & Naming

I wanted to check where the Bluray nfo file should be located & how it should be named. Originally, I had these as movie.xml files in the root folder of the movie. I've upgraded to nfo files and removed xml but having this as movie.nfo was not displaying or refreshing. Some searching around the forums & wikis found that this should be now called index.nfo under the BDMV folder. I've tried this but still no data will refresh/display. If I manually refresh to fetch new metadata from Emby Theater for example it creates a file <foldername>.nfo. So I renamed my original nfo file to the folder name & refresh missing metadata & it displays as expected. Is this correct? (before I go through and manually update my other rips) Also, on a side question, should subtitle options display the name of the subtitle stream? They are present if I play this via an external player such as Media Player Classic but show as Und (Undetermined) in Emby interface. Many Thanks, AD

    Can't play Blu Ray

Hi I can't play BluRays. Their file structures are just the same as on the original discs, just copied to hdd. BluRay ISOs aren't working either, but the logs are for blu-ray-copies, not blu-ray-isos. When doing it over HTTPS: Log: http://xbmclogs.com/p4kc0mjus Error 1: http://xbmclogs.com/p4kc0mjus#line-287 Error 2: http://xbmclogs.com/p4kc0mjus#line-291 Followed by: http://xbmclogs.com/p4kc0mjus#line-312 And when doing it over HTTP: Log: http://xbmclogs.com/pmctpcyfo Error: http://xbmclogs.com/pmctpcyfo#line-256 Anything I can do?

    ISO does not mount

Hello, I'm very new at this so please pardon my ignorance. I have my brand new emby Windows server installation up and running, all of my videos work, except for my BluRay ISO collection. About 90% of my video collection is in BluRay ISO format so I really need this to work. The library scans it, pulls all the information, and everything seems to work. Only playing the file doesn't work (I'm using the web browser player as well as the Android application). When I hit play, The browser only shows the movie splash screen but nothing happens. On my Windows system tray, I can see the small pismo file mount icon show up. Mousing over the icon says "0 mounted files". I then went into Windows folder and manually mounted my ISO file through pismo mount commands in terminal. This converts the ISO file into a directory structure in Windows which, a library rescan in Emby, makes the video show up. I can then play the video through the browser and through the Android application. However, I have to manually mount and unmount the file through Pismo. Is there anyway to automate this process or fix/check what the issue is? Thanks!
