  1. Hello, Whenever I try to use Auto-organize to organize recorded TV episodes, Auto-organize fails to move the episodes and the log file shows a message that the episode cannot be sorted because it is already part of an Emby library. This is true, but it is because Emby automatically adds the Recorded TV folder as an Emby library. Hence, I have to remove the Recorded TV folder from my libraries, and then Auto-organize will sort and move the recorded episodes as expected. But then Emby adds the Recorded TV folder back as a library item and Auto-organize fails again. This has been an issue for me for quite some time, but I finally decided to ask about it. I feel like I must be missing something. Have I missed an option to avoid adding the Recorded TV folder as a library? Have I missed some other setting that fixes this issue? Are other users having this same issue? If so, how do you avoid this issue as it makes Auto-organize much less useful? I can see the benefits of having the Recorded TV folder as a library, but then it seems like Auto-organize should ignore that folder when looking through the libraries for a match for the TV show.

    Auto Organizer

HI there, I am pretty new to Media Browser, just moved from Plex. I really like the Auto-Organizer for TV shows. My problem is it scans the new folder and finds the new files all correctly but when i look in the Activity log it says it skipped and i have to go into each one separately and click ok for it to accept. Have i done something wrong?

    Auto-organize bugs

Hi, I have found two small issues with Auto-Organize plugin. I hope this is the right place to write about them, if not please move this to the correct place. First: if you resize your browser to smaller (like a smartphone's screensize), the auto-organize buttons at the right are not displaying (goes off screen), and horizontal scrolling is not possible (on Android the scrollbar shows up, but panning not works; on Windows, there is no scrollbar). Second: every time when I manually add a new series episode (eg episode 1) from the auto-organize list (which has not found automatically) and I try to organize the second episode (eg episode 2), the list still not contain the newly added series, I have to search for it again. These are not major issues, but sometimes very annoying. For the first, imagine: I put new files on my nas from my phone, and I have no chance to organize them, because I'm unable to push the button, so I have to start my computer just for doing that. Cheers!
  4. Hi All, I'm sure I've seen this brought up some time ago, but I couldn't find a topic in here. I was wondering if in the future it will be possible to use the Auto-Organize feature on movies, as well as television. I love being able to add television shows to my watched folder and have MBS take care of the renaming and organizing. Having a similar feature for movies would be great as well (as some other users agree, from what I remember of it being discussed in the past). I don't remember what the developer response was to the possibility of this feature, this is why I'm making a new thread for it. Thanks, Patrick
  5. Hello Guys, I'm using version 3.2.30.0 which is currently the stable up-date one. I installed the auto-organize plugin from the catalog. However when I downloaded a series (Orphan.Black.S01), it resulted this: The serie contains 10 episodes, and all the episodes created a new series with a number of 10^episode_no (under season 100 there is the 2nd episode for example). Did you experienced anything like this before? What could I miss? Thanks!
  6. Emby is running on a Mac Mini. The content is stored in a Synology DS416j mounted over a gigabit network with 9000 byte jumbo frames enabled and working on both devices. The folder being watched by auto-organize is on the same NAS filesystem volume as the folders where it will be organized to. Auto-organize is set to move files rather than copy them. When new content is moved to the watched folder and auto-organized invokes, the content ingestion and file move/rename operation is immediate (as expected). For content that isn't automatically ingested because there's already an older version, the replacement content is copied and then the source file is deleted. Worse though, is that the first time I encountered this I had 200+ items being copied in parallel, and while the operation was running 170GB of content needed another nearly 170GB of filesystem space to perform the copy before items were being deleted. I move 100 1GB episodes of a show into the monitored folder. They're ingested and moved to the appropriate folders in less than a minute. Later, I get a set of those same episodes recompressed using a more efficient codec. I move 100 500MB episodes of the show into the monitored folder. They're all initially showing in blue in the Auto-Organize page. When I select the option to replace an episode, the item becomes yellow for several seconds as it's being copied over the network from the NAS to the Mac Mini and back again to the new location on the NAS, and then it turns green indicating it's been ingested. I now have two options: If I wait for each item to finish ingesting before I start the next item, I will need to sit at the computer for 30 minutes or more to ingest all these items one by one. If I go through the list as fast as I can, they all copying in parallel and the whole process takes even longer. I'm free to do other things, but now my NAS and network are saturated while the process runs.
  7. This specifically comes up when media isn't imported because it would replace something already there (and "Overwrite existing episodes" is unchecked), though it would be useful to see information about new imports. When an import would replace something already on the server, I run ffprobe against both pieces of content to see what the differences are. I'd like to see the information that's gathered about content when an item is imported next to the same information about content that's pending approval to overwrite it. The logic behind the decision over whether or not to overwrite could be something that later on might lead to new features around setting up rules for making decisions based on content information, but currently the person making the decision doesn't have enough information to make the decision manually. An info button at the end of the row in the Auto-Organize Activity Log page would do the trick. If content imported with no conflict, show just that, but for conflicting items show both sets of information.
  8. Can I override the folder name used by Auto-Organize. How do I deal with shows like M*A*S*H, Penn & Teller: Fool Us for example? I would like to tell Emby server that any show's name containing characters not allowed in folder name (*:\?) be deleted so M*A*S*H just becomes MASH Thanks
  9. I have read the wiki and scoured through the message boards cant find a way to do this. I have multiple copies of a lot of stuff for redundancy, I am trying to move everything to a larger drive I have, and delete the duplicates. the larger drives is also a mirror raid setup, so I can free up these smaller 1, 2, 3 TB drives, and move every thing to the RAID. So while its finding hundreds of files that are NOT already on the RAID it also has 1500+ that are..... I have to hit the "trash can" icon next to every one... and then OK the delete, it takes FOREVER... I have it set to overwrite if PROPER, REPACK, etc.... but it doesn't do anything with identical files. only better versions which is good if I want 1080 or 720 vs smaller files... but I prefer the smaller... I just want boxes next to the trash can or some other way to mass delete these identicals files as I drag them to my "target" auto-organize folder. I realize this may not be the right place to post, please advise where it should go.. ANY help appreciated. TIA.. -G..
  10. I've had this problem for a few days now, been trying to sort it out and can't get a grip on it. I have five external hard drives, with folders for various Media Libraries across each of the drives. Lately, files being auto-organized into Drive 4\Television 4 have been failing. Every time. No matter what. So I navigated to the folders through the Network links in My Computer instead of the direct hard drive links. Everything is there. And I compared the security settings for user permissions between Television 4 and Television 3. They're identical. Everything is identical. At least everything I'm looking at. So I did a test user-initiated auto-organize, then rebooted to get a "clean" server log. In this test, I moved an existing episode (ER S01E25) alongside my latest problem file (American Ninja Warrior S08E03). Both files are present in sites like TheTVDB.com. ER episode would be transferred to Drive 2\Television 2... and American Ninja Warrior is to be stored on Drive 4\Television 4. ER = pass. American Ninja Warrior = fail. For the sake of brevity, I haven't included server logs testing other series that are stored in Television 4. I've tested 4 other shows with air dates ranging from 2009 to present, and every file fails with the same error report as American Ninja Warrior. And they fail whether they have their original filename or properly structured filename. Here's the error report. The file attached includes the logs preceding the error up until the "Info TaskManager: Executing Organize new media files" *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5972.0 Command line: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server Application Path: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\System\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe Access to the path is denied. Smart Match regex syntax

@@softworkz I'm having trouble importing episodes of The 100 that were named by Emby. I start off with this, which gets moved into the auto-organize watched folder: The.100.S03E10.720p.HDTV.x264.mkv Emby correctly organizes it into the folder The 100 (2014)/Season 3 with the name: The 100 - 3x10 - Fallen.mkv At night, a separate process will delete the organized file after it's put a recompressed copy of it in the watched folder, named similarly: The 100 - 3x10 - Fallen.mp4 After the library scan notices the organized episode was removed, the recompressed versions of other shows get auto-organized, but episodes of The 100 always fail at this point. My autoorganize.xml contains this entry, which I had to create by hand because the Organize File dialog never offered the option to create one for this show. <SmartMatchInfo> <ItemName>The 100</ItemName> <DisplayName>The 100</DisplayName> <OrganizerType>Episode</OrganizerType> <MatchStrings> <string>The.100</string> <string>The.100.-</string> <string>The 100</string> <string>The 100 -</string> </MatchStrings> </SmartMatchInfo> The initially downloaded files match with no problem, but then after the rename they don't. From the logs I see this: 2016-04-13 16:29:46.8136 Info App: Sorting file /Volumes/Drobo/Finished/replacements/The 100 - 3x10 - Fallen.mp4 2016-04-13 16:29:46.8606 Debug App: Extracted information from /Volumes/Drobo/Finished/replacements/The 100 - 3x10 - Fallen.mp4. Series name The, Season 3, Episode 10 2016-04-13 16:29:46.8973 Warn App: Unable to find series in library matching name The Are the strings in MatchStrings supposed to be regexes or just string literals? I haven't been able to track down that code. The first case worked for the pre-organized filename, but not the organized names making me think they're not regexes, but then what I've done since apparently isn't working either. I've figured out that changes to the autoorganize.xml file aren't picked up until after I restart the server, so that's not the issue.

    Auto-Organize No Longer Works

Hi @@softworkz, I'm running Emby Server Version 3.0.5912.0 on a Server 2012R2 machine. Lately the auto-organize has stopped working. It will not organize any of my shows - all of which are episodes of series that already exist in my library. After the files appear with the error (in auto-organize screen), I have tried manually sorting them by clicking the folder icon and choosing the series, but this also will not work. I have tried running Emby Server as a service, and running as an app, no change. I have confirmed that tvdb is accessible via the browser. The following is a log snippet, full log attached. I have confirmed that these episodes are present on tvdb. I have not changed any metadata settings, and I have confirmed they all appear to be correct. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.1962 Info TaskManager: Queueing task OrganizerScheduledTask 2016-04-04 19:08:43.1962 Info TaskManager: Executing Organize new media files 2016-04-04 19:08:43.1962 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E07.mp4 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2275 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E07.mp4 into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\Drunk History (UK) 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2275 Warn App: No provider metadata found for Drunk History (UK) season 2 episode 7 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2275 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E07.mp4 because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2275 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2900 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\Vikings 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2900 Warn App: No provider metadata found for Vikings season 4 episode 6 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2900 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Vikings.S04E06.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.2900 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv]\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv].avi 2016-04-04 19:08:43.3524 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv]\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv].avi into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\The Walking Dead 2016-04-04 19:08:43.3524 Warn App: No provider metadata found for The Walking Dead season 6 episode 15 2016-04-04 19:08:43.3524 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv]\The.Walking.Dead.S06E15.HDTV.XviD-FUM[ettv].avi because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.3524 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv]\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv].mp4 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4150 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv]\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv].mp4 into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\Back Sails 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4150 Warn App: No provider metadata found for Black Sails season 3 episode 10 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4150 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv]\Black.Sails.S03E10.WEBRip.x264-FUM[ettv].mp4 because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4150 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E08.mp4 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4462 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E08.mp4 into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\Drunk History (UK) 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4462 Warn App: No provider metadata found for Drunk History (UK) season 2 episode 8 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4462 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Drunk History (UK) S02E08.mp4 because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.4462 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 2016-04-04 19:08:43.5087 Info App: Sorting file P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 into series P:\ServerFolders\Videos\TV\Archer (2009) 2016-04-04 19:08:43.5087 Warn App: No provider metadata found for Archer (2009) season 7 episode 1 2016-04-04 19:08:43.5087 Warn App: Unable to sort P:\ServerFolders\Videos\Auto Organise\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv]\Archer.2009.S07E01.HDTV.x264-KILLERS[ettv].mp4 because target path could not be determined. 2016-04-04 19:08:43.5087 Info TaskManager: Organize new media files Completed after 0 minute(s) and 0 seconds server-63595393654.txt
  13. Hi guy's Since the latest update Version 3.0.5871.0 Auto-Organise is not finding anything. Things tried point to another folder this folder works try to point it back stops working again Stop service create new trigger reboot server reboot machine Any one else had similar? any thoughts on fixing it?
  14. Just need help getting Auto Organize to work as I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. This is what I've currently got: click spoiler tags to see folder structure of the source and destination directories Both series have been added to the media library and scrapped correctly, as well as having matching series name to the destination directory (which is also shown correctly). Click the following spoiler tag for all auto-organize settings: So now that all the setting are out of the way, my activity log shows 2 (of 2) failed file transfers both due to "target path could not be determined". Clicking the "Organize file" button shows that it successfully gets the season and episode number but doesn't get the series name. Setting this manually and clicking save however does absolutely nothing. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
  15. Is there any way to have the auto organize feature in the case that there is no Season number and episode number use the aired date to bring back the metadata and rename it with the proper season/episode and move it correctly? I record NBC Nightly News, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. I am able to copy them to their respective Show folders and view them from the client but I have no metadata or information with any of them when viewed in the clients. IIn the name of the file there is just the air date and in the case of Colbert and Daily show who the guest was. Examples: NBC Nightly News-2014-05-25.mp4 The Colbert Report-2014-05-01 Saul Williams.mp4 The Daily Show-2014-05-01 David Spade.mp4 Thanks,
  16. Thank you to all that read/assist me with this: I have the Auto-Organize feature setup to monitor my Recorded TV folder...and after each recording it properly moves these shows (and deletes the empty folders) over to my UnRaid Server. The issue i'm then running into is that the "Recorded TV" section of Emby doesn't get updated...meaning it still thinks the recently recorded shows are still in my Recorded TV Folder on my desktop. I've tried the "Clean Database" under the Scheduled Task section thinking that might help, and that doesn't fix my issue. My only fix right now is to go into the Emby App, Recorded TV section, click into each show and then delete. Thoughts or potential solutions? Thank you for your time, sd
  17. Pretty much what the title says. I'd like to see in the organize log any media that might be skipped. For example if I had the following folder: Emby Watch folder --Owari no Seraph ----Season 1 ------>Owari no Seraph.s01e01.mkv ------>Owari no Seraph.s01e03.mkv ------>Owari no Seraph.s01e04.mkv and I try to add the file "Owari no Seraph.s01e06.mkv". I'd like to see in auto-organize something like the following: Moved: Owari no Seraph.s01e06 Missing Media: Owari no Seraph.s01e02 Missing Media: Owari no Seraph.s01e05 This simple feature would make file management far easier. Right now I have to occasionally check episodes and filter by "missing episodes". Which I have about 200, some legit and others not so legit. Not very easy to sort through but I am glad it's there, one day maybe I'll get that to 0 (unlikely).

    Live TV and Auto-Organize

I have been thinking for the past few days about how the Live TV and Auto-Organize functions could be kinda merged.. Would there be any way (plugins or third party software) that I could automatically convert the recorded TV to something like avi or mp4 and then have them picked up by Auto-organize and added to the library as a normal show? This would help fill in the gap with the whole system.
  19. Hi guys, I don't know if this has been reported anywhere, but I noticed that lately auto organize does not include the file extension when moving tv episodes (at least on my set up) It might be I screwed up a setting, although I don't think i did. This is what is happening: Any ideas?
  20. Hello, It would be nice to say the Auto-Organize feature how the source filename of a specific TV-Show may consists of via regex for example. Like this: The sourcefile contains himym-411 now you say mediabrowser via regex that this is "how i met your mother season 4 episode 11". Furthermore it should possible to add more than one regex per TV-Show. Greets phonk

    Auto-Organize shortcut quirks

When I have to manually force auto-organize due to the series name or ep number being unreadable to MBS, I've found two little quirks. Open the Episode Organization dialog, then press the down arrow to display the drop-down menu with show names. Quirk one: Press a letter on the keyboard to go to that letter, say "m". List scrolls to shows that start with "m" but since the cursor is on the blank space at the top as soon as you move it down a notch into the list, the list immediately snaps back to the top. The workaround is to move the cursor down first but it would be nice if that wasn't needed. Quirk two: Press the letter "t" to get to a show that starts with "t", and you get the first show that starts with "The", which is not very useful. On the plus side, shows starting with "The" are correctly sorted in the drop-down list according to the second word. It would be great if initial "The" was ignored when selecting a letter shortcut.

  23. Auto-Organize is successfully renaming and moving my video files, but rather than putting the video in the correct season folder, it is instead putting it in the main TV Folder. Example: Revolution 2x14, should be put in Revolution Season 2 folder, but puts it in the Revolution folder (top level) instead. Probably a setting wrong somewhere my end, as no one else has reported it

    Auto-Organize - Renaming

Gents! I'm loving this feature like most people!! Well done! Is there a way to get MB3 to use the 'Episode File Pattern' and rename all currently added files?? So those who are upgrading have the option for this to be done, and have all file naming the same? (I'm a pit OCD so keeping all the file naming the same is an old habit)
  25. Hi, the Auto-Organize is a fantastic addition to MB3 and work really well! was just wondering can there be an option whether the file gets moved or copied across. Thanks Lee
