  1. Hello everybody, I have installed Emby on my Synology. When listening to music in my car, I open the emby App on Android Auto Wireless using a Wireguard VPN. I am able to connect to the server and also to play songs etc...However, the entire Artwork (Albums, Artist etc.) is not showing up...When I turn off the VPN, the Album Covers will show up in Android Auto. Album Covers will also show up when I use the "normal" Android App on my Phone (not using Android Auto) with VPN... So it looks like it is an Android Auto - VPN Problem only....Any idea how to fix that problem? Android Auto using VPN: Android Auto without VPN: Thanks a lot! Best, Benny
  2. Hello, Environment: Emby Server 4.7.13.0 Emby for Android 3.3.07 Android 13 Premiere enabled What is working: Usage internally: wifi and wired connections in the same LAN as the server. Smartphone, PC, TV, even my car with Android Auto through smartphone. Usage externally: data connection through my router/firewall, no problem with my ISP either. Smartphone, car with android auto, other WAN connections. What is not working: Starting to play playlist inside the LAN and continue after going out, either on smartphone or through Android Auto. I set up Emby behind an apache proxy to ease certificates, DNS and network flows management through firewall, but I guess it's not the source of the issue. Internally and externally Emby is reachable through a unique name (eg. emby.myfancydomain.com) and HTTPS/443. As the proxy is doing the routing job, all Emby network config is left by default, proxy falling back on 8096 HTTP default port, this is maybe the problem but I don't know which parameter to correct, I did several tests without solving. Testing with local terminal DNS cache is instantly discarded and get the public IP, but I need to restart the app to make it works, so I loose the playlist state on smartphone. With Android auto it's even worse, I can't restart with the Android auto interface, I need to disconnect the smartphone from the car, restart the app and then reconnect to the car... And of course loosing the playlist and song state. Fun fact, the reverse action works well, but I don't know if my data connection is still active or if the app switch better when started outside my network and then come back to home. Thanks in advance, Leahkim
  3. Hi, I use Emby for music streaming in my car and I have a problem with the shuffle function. When I go to one of my playlists and click "shuffle", only 50 songs from that playlist are added to the current playlist. As long as I don't restart my Emby server, those 50 songs will play in the same order every time I click the shuffle button on that playlist. (Even if I have played something else in between) I don't think this is the desired behavior. I would expect all songs to be added to the current playlist in a random order and the order to be changed every time I click the shuffle button. Keep up the great work, Jens
  4. Hi everyone We are looking at getting a dedicated audio playing app for Emby up for closed testing on PlayStore shortly, and was wondering if people might be interested it trying it out and providing feedback? Features: Android Auto support Chromecast support Download media onto device via WiFi/Mobile for complete offline support - can search, mix and play content without access to your server Filter content, such as genres, artist albums, album artists by years and genre Playlists - create playlists, automatically download new content added - in the case of offline playlists. Resume playback of last positions in playing queues, audiobooks and albums, etc. Open to any suggestion for other features.... Please note: This will not be a free app - it will be a full featured trial, which upon expiry will require a once off purchase At this stage the app will be Android only, no iOS just yet unfortunately Alpha version will be available shortly, pending interest in testing and feedback.

    Android auto sounds muffled

When listening to music in Emby through android auto, there are occasional instances where the music comes out very muffled/garbled. It almost sounds like I'm listening to music underwater or something. Does anyone know what is causing this issue?
  6. I would find it useful to use Emby in the car under Android Auto. Kind regards, Paul Roelandse

Library doesn't load at Android Auto

Hi, I have the lastest version of Emby Server on a QNAP NAS (model TS-128A) and the last version of Emby on my Android phone (Huawei P10 Lite). When I run Android Auto, Emby doesn't load my library "Música", but the library loads correctly outside of Android Auto. There aren't logs in my phone. Server log shows this: 2020-04-16 14:19:12.834 Error HttpServer: Error in ProcessAccept *** Error Report *** Version: 4.4.2.0 Command line: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/system/EmbyServer.dll FIXED: Emby Missing from Android Auto

I apologize. I was finally able to figure this out. I didn't see a way to delete this post so I am editing it. For others who have this issue - After the latest system updates...I had to go into the Emby app in the Google Play store and "Enable" it. Have no idea why. But that fixed the issue and put Emby back on the Android Auto menu. Good morning, I am an Emby Premiere customer. I was just really getting excited about using Emby with Android Auto. I set up my playlists, etc. And then *poof* it disappeared from the Android Auto menu. I know there have been recent system updates for Android. I am using a Samsung Galaxy. Is there something I can do to bring this back? Thank you in advance! Don Morgan
