Hello all, This is a weird problem. I have two Roku 3s, one on LAN and one in WiFi. Suddenly I can no longer get the opening ROKU channel view where I see my Emby server, folders, folder artwork, content, last added all the other nice cool features of Roku for Emby. This Roku channel was why I chose Roku over Amazon Fire or other alternatives. I have reset my Router, Server, WiFi router. I have tried an older version of the Roku Emby plugin. I have tried the beta version of the Roku Channel. I still connect just fine to the server and can use the search function to find specific titles. But I no longer see the really nice browsing menu. This has just started a few days ago. I am running a stable version of Emby for WMC and my Windows 8 is patched and up to date. This is affecting my family life as my daughter and wife can no longer find their favorites and browse through our videos and movies. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone know what happened?

I had to rebuild my media server. So I started this Emby build on a new login through Windows 8. I have it installed and have mapped out some media libraries. But it won't scan. And when I mean won't scan, I mean it fails 0 seconds. It never even tries. I was used to this working slow before or only getting 23% usually, but eventually getting done, but now it doesn't see any folders because it actually never scanned. Any thoughts? 10-20-15-1429 log.rtf

My next issue is that I cannot add a folder called movies. Each time I try to add it, I can add the type of folder. When I go to the D drive to pick the movies folder it jumps me to the user login screen. And I never seem to have the right password. I even tried resetting the password and get a message, (after following the steps) that I have reset the password to no password. But each time I try to add the folder content it never lets me past this user permission. Now it has allowed me to add other folders, which happen to be on a separate drive to the library, but not this one. And I get no explanation as to why.

I've been running WMC with MB2/MB3 on a windows 7 machine for years. Love the setup and have been very pleased. I stuck with windows 7 because I was using some DMA-2100 extenders and knew 8 required a move to xbox. Thanks to the live TV implementation and a few other things I have decommissioned my last 2100. I'm either chromecast or xbox now. This machine is now due for a refresh. I've messed with sharks codecs, had the concurrent RDP hack installed which MS has been killing lately, and a few other misc things that I just want to wipe out and start fresh. My question is do I stick with 7 since it's been rock solid for me or make the move to 8? I already have a licensed WMC copy just for this machine. I will probably remove my current boot drive and set it aside and play with the new install on a different drive just in case things go sour but I'd like to avoid spinning my wheels with 8 if there are pitfalls. Thanks for any tips or thoughts. I'd like to keep it barebones and use WMC with MB3 and that's it.

Hello, I wonder if it would be possible to add support tiles Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 for the web interface of MediaBrowser. Currently if you pin the web interface under Win8 / WP8 you get a not particularly nice tile with an overview of the web page, but with a tile displaying the logo (and why not a live tile with the latest additions) it would make a little cleaner. I upgraded my HTPC to Windows 8.1 and WMC and I've returned to MBC. I was using XBMC and one of the features I really like is playing all the files in a folder. We sometimes will have a list of maybe 10-12 home videos or other YouTube clips in a folder that we'll play, and we'll shuffle play all the files. In XBMC, it works flawlessly (not MBC3C, just the native XBMC player). In WMC using MBC, it has some problems. The first thing is if there are multiple files, let's say we have a folder of 20 files and all are around a minute long, then after the first few videos, MBC will start to act a little strange. It will play the first second of the video, and then it will repeat the first second of the video and then play it all the way through. That's a little odd. That stutter will happen for most of the videos in the playlist. The second problem is that after a while, a video half way through the playlist will freeze, and we will be forced to press the skip button to skip back a few seconds in the video, and then it will play the rest of the way. If there are more videos in the playlist, it will intermittently do the same thing (freeze the video, but the audio will continue to play). If it reaches the end of the video, it will just stop and not play the next video. Sometimes after a long pause it will continue on to the next video, but the easiest way to get it "unstuck" is to skip backwards on the current video, and then it will play regularly. Somewhat annoying to have to babysit the video playlists when it should just play them all the way through. Hopefully these issues can be addressed. I like the TV guide with WMC better than XBMC, and I think MBC is better than the XBMB3C implementation, so hopefully this issue can be resolved. Thank you!

Hi all, Random question here, but I've been trying to decide recently if I should make the jump to Windows 8.1 or not. I don't really have a good reason to, but I've been thinking about giving it a try. After doing some research on the subject, I haven't really found any compelling reason whether I should, or should not switch, so I thought I'd ask some fellow MediaBrowser's what their take was on the subject. I don't want the cost of a new operating system to sway people's opinions either, this is just subject to people's preferences on the two OS's, and not whether it's worth the money to upgrade or not. I only really want to hear from people with experience with both 7 and 8.1, and what their opinion is on why they like either one better. - Currently I'm running WIndows 7 Home Premium x64 All I want to know is: Are there really any advantages I'll get from switching to 8.1? Are there advantages to me staying with Windows 7? Are there any trade-offs to switching from 7 to 8.1 and vise versa? Which do you prefer, and why? The computer in question is my main PC, which runs MBServer and MBT. It's connected to the 65" TV in my living room, and is also used for 95% of my web-browsing, gaming, word processing, etc. ...Basically, pretend it's my only computer, and used for everything. It's main use, however (+/-65% of the time); is for an HTPC What I'd like to get from this thread is the majority of you telling me either: Yes, go to Windows 8.1, it's totally worth it! or NO! Hi, I'm looking for a suggestion on building (or repurposing) a machine. Most of the ones that I've read have been general purpose machines for a lot of things. I'm really just looking for a machine that will be able to run MB3 server and transcode and stream up to a max of 8 different movies at the same time. There will be other programs running but minor ones. Is Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 preferred? Does it matter? Clients 2-3 MBT or MBC on Local LAN - Direct Play - No transcoding 2 - Local LAN Roku 3 - Local Wireless IOS 1 - Remote Roku 2 - Remote IOS I know these might not all be supported at this time but I want to take into account all of this for future overhead and not have to build again. Everything will be streamed from a NAS that is connected via gigabit ethernet. Mostly Movies and TV. Movies all 1080p source and TV is 720p source. My goal is not the break the bank but I'd like to get the best quality parts I can for the money right now as I'd rather not have to upgrade it in 2 years. Thanks for the help Josh

Can anyone explain how to change the time zone being used to show when someone last logged in? Times are showing multiple hours ahead. I am uploading this at 15:33 on Jan 10th. Notice the time showing on the Admin login.

To start with, the Windows 8 app looks great. I was using it today at work to do some music streaming. While doing so, I noticed that there are some glaring missing features for music. 1. No quick way to get to now playing. You must first go Home then click on Now Playing. There should be a button added to the app menu. 2. Shuffle feature for playback 3. Playlist creation and use I am happy to assist with testing if needed.

Please allow us to view all episodes of a show, not just by season. I like to watch random episodes of certain shows, and having to switch between season makes it slightly more annoying.
