Emby Theater for windows version 1.1.568.0 has an odd issue when playing videos (mp4) automatically "playlist" (via clicking the shuffle button). It plays them ok, but the "up next" link at the bottom of the screen on the left side doesn't show what videos are up next in the playlist. It does nothing. I think it started in this version.

Hi All Not sure if this is a fault , oversight or just how it's been set up. I have a library of around 20,000 music videos on a library called 'Music Videos'. Media type is Music Video. In the Windows Emby Theatre App, or the Android app, If I select a video or a video playlist, it plays the videos I have asked for. However If select "Artist" from the top list and select an artist, it plays the music files from that artist, and not the videos - even though I am in the Music Video library. Is there a setting I have missed, or is this a known issue? -
Emby Theater - Method of Configuring only X-number of Video Backrops to Randomly Play (instead of all play)

The video backdrops feature is pretty nifty. Sometimes I have multiple video backdrops, and it has occurred to me that it could be nice (on a per-backdrops-folder basis) if there were a way (perhaps through special filenaming?) to designate: that only a configured number of backdrop videos should play; and that whatever that number is, the videos should be randomly selected from the total amount from within the backdrops folder. For example, perhaps with one item (movie, tv season, etc.) I have 3 video backdrops and I only want 1 to be randomly selected and played. But for another item maybe I have 5 video backdrops and so I decide I want 2 to be randomly selected and played. PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.- 2 replies

I set up a music video libary. Normally emby automatically creates some chapters at different time points, for which I don't really care, but now I have a longer Video containing 2 different Bands and tried to set a chapter manually for one band and the other using mkvToolnix. Emby recognizes the 2 chapters, but if I click on the second chapter to start from there, the screen just stays black forever and not even a video toolbar is shown. Using VLC Media Player I can almost instantly jump to the second chapter, so timestamps should work. Is it possible to set up the chapters manually directly in emby? I didn't find that option. Any ideas what I did wrong? Regards

Two Libraries, one source, containing both Mp3 (audio) and Mp4 (videos) files

Hi, I use one single source containing both Music and Videos files, organized by Music Styles and then Artists. I configured two libraries : One for music, the other for the videos. I want to browse by Folders, as my hard disk is well organized. If I ask Emby to scan one of them, it scans them both at once. After the scan, I can only see content in the Music library and nothing in the Videos library. I already tried with two different sources, one for music and one for videos, and it works, but I need Emby to scan one single source and produce two different libraries with different media. I also tried using a Mixed Content Source, but no result at all. Is it a bug in Emby ? How can I view videos in the same source ? Thanks, -
Hi, I tried everything and now unable to solve issue by myself. I added videos songs in Music video type content and created a library but no videos are showing but a few Audio songs. I really thankful, if someone help me. Thanks

Hi, I've been configuring a home media library with all my family and travel videos and noticed that the people being added in the videos do not show when clicking on the person. They do show on the video page but not on the person page. For eg, i have created people or persons for several members of the family and it would be nice to be able to see all their videos in the people page. I am a .net developer and took a look in the repsonse and a bit in the code and it seems that there are childs defined for several entities but videos : TrailerCount 0 MovieCount 0 SeriesCount 0 ProgramCount 0 EpisodeCount 0 GameCount 0 SongCount 0 AlbumCount 0 ArtistCount 0 MusicVideoCount 0 and ChildCount 5 This means the videos are returned as childs as the connection in the database is made but they are not handled by the frontend. Is this something you guys are willing to implement sometime in the nearish future or should i find an alternative solution. I would consider building a plugin for this, an enhanced people view/editor but not sure if the plugin interface allows me to override pages. Steps to reproduce: - add a person to a video (from a home videos library) - click on the person from that video page in the cast section - result: the person has no items displayed on their page I really appreciate the hard work you guys put into this product, keep it up

Hello all, Apologies if this has been asked. I did a search in the forum but couldn't find anything and couldn't find anything in online documentation. Point me in the right direction if there is info on this. I'm running: Windows 10 Emby Server Version 3.3.1.0 Access Emby and stream files from Chrome via localhost All files are on the same laptop that I run Emby I just recently started to rip my music DVDs to mp4. I use ffmpeg for all of my processing. I added chapters to these that show up and work in media players such as VLC (playback>chapters and I can advance properly in the progress bar and Next Chapter/Title button). The chapters were added as metadata so they aren't a separate chapter/subtitle stream or separate file. Does Emby support this? Do I have to enable something? I thought I looked through all of the settings options including metadata but didn't see anything. If this is supported will I see them as a visual someplace like VLC (playback>chapters) as well as player controls like VLC's Next Chapter/Title button? If this isn't supported what do I have to do to get chapters to work? I thought I read chapter xml files weren't supported but that might have been awhile ago. Is there a best practices for adding your personal home videos to the server? I just saw the Home Videos heading, so I created a folder on my server with the same name (no media in it yet) and added it to Emby server. Do I just add my videos and forget it? Are there any gotchas I need to be aware of? Does Emby know not to search the Internet for posters, banners, etc? What about Metadata? Do I simply go to the Metadata manager in the server interface and type in what I want? Thanks for any help or tips!

@marcelveldt I don't think I was clear about what I am trying to achieve with the add-on buttons. For instance, under the video add-on button I created there are 10 plugin videos (amazon, hulu, netflix, hgtv, etc.). As it is now when I land on the video add-on button (without clicking) the sub-menu plugins are listed across the top of the home menu bar. What I would like is to click on the individual menu buttons I setup for video add-on, music add-on, and program add-on buttons and have them open up to individual thumbnails that I can select from, rather than having to scroll through the row of plugins on the home screen menu bar. Is this possible on my end? If so, how do I achieve this? If it's not possible would you add this option? I would like a button that functions like the add-on browser button does but for a special/generic/misc ActivateWindow code. A button you can put anything into, name it anything, and it open up thumbnails (or whatever view the user opts for). Hope this makes sense. Please and thank you!

Server Version 3.0.5366.22005 MBT Version 3.0.5377.16926 I have the following channels installed: Beeg CNET Revision3 Trailers TuneIn Twit Vevo Vine Cannot play ANY Channel video. Receive the following error in MBT: "There was an error processing request." Receive the following error in log file "At least one of the pins involved in the operation is already connected." http://paste2.org/VWKZjKXk 1) Please advise what the log file error means? (every Channel video cannot be locked?!) 2) Is there a solution available?

I'm using MediaBrowser Theater and usually i find the volume on theme videos to be too loud, however I don't want to adjust the volume down and then adjust it back up when the movie starts. It would be nice to have a setting that controls the volume of theme videos in the settings so that if I wan't it turned down i can adjust it, and if I like the volume as it is then i can leave that alone. This setting would only affect theme videos and nothing else.

I'd like to request an option to allow videos to keep playing one after another rather than stopping after each video. I want to select the first video and then have it keep playing until the last episode in the season or folder because i may have already watched the previous episodes. Thanks for your consideration!

A lot of people have been asking how they can contribute to the theme video collections recently and with the recent host change to mediafire, this has all become a lot easier. There are a few things that are required but the process is now fairly simple! Firstly, make sure the resolution is 720 or above (the preferred format is mp4 but I can probably work with anything), then all you have to do is name the TV or Movie Theme in the following format: TV Shows T - {tvdbid} – {showname}.ext Or Movies M - {tmdbid} – {moviename}.ext Where tvdbid and tmdbid are the ids which can be found on either thetvdb.com for tv shows and themoviedb.org for movies. Examples being: T - 79349 – Dexter.mp4 M - 4147 - Road to Perdition.mp4 Once you have the files named as above, simply head to this link and upload! Theme Uploads! Once the upload completes, I will get an email notification and perform the necessary to get the theme added to the database. All of you that are using the previous method of upload, please keep doing so. The older method is definitely the preferred, this one will hopefully enable an easier way to make the collection even bigger for everyone! :-D Any questions, please post below!

New Release (1.0.2.1) In the latest release of the TV and Movie Theme Video/Song Plugins, a new filter has been added to prevent the download of a theme if its not wanted it in your collection. When the plugin downloads a theme in the future, a new filter item will automatically be added to the plugins configuration page. If that theme is then deleted from your collection, the theme will never be downloaded again. If you change your mind, simply enter the plugins configuration page and delete the filter from the list, and run the scheduled task again. You can also add filters manually by clicking the + icon and entering the Movie/TV Show name in the box (this must be written exactly the same was as displayed in the items details screen)
