Hi all, Wondering if I can get some help with an issue that has been plaguing me for a little while. I currently have Emby installed on a Windows machine in which it runs as a service (created via NSSM from memory, was a long time ago). One of my key use cases is that I turn on my machine and Emby starts up in the background and just works, however on occasion when it tries to update, it fails. A by product of this is that the zip file remains in the updates folder and the server crashes because it doesn't start if there are any pending updates. (Or so I assume?) Has anyone dealt with this issue before and / or have thoughts on how to fix it? I apologise if this is a duplicate, I did attempt a search, but I couldn't find a match for any keywords I thought applied. Any and all help would be appreciated! Cheers!

Direction On How To Update Emby Server for Windows x64 Offline
Music100 posted a topic in General/Windows
I have Emby 4.6.7.0 working well on a Windows x64 system. It is on a local network that does not get connected to the internet. I would appreciate direction on how to update the existing Emby installation on this offline computer. I have the recent embyserver-win-x64-4.7.1.0.7z downloaded and unpacked, but it is not clear to me how I update the existing installation. -

I've tried to do some things myself such and reinstall Emby Server, remove OMDb and left TMDb. Searching in IMDB in Identify and get no results. Log file attached. Please Help.

The update button seems active when I access my Emby administrator user ... but when I click on it and NOTHING happens. Does anyone have a link to see the steps or a video? ... to update emby in WINDOWS. help me with windows .... Thanks. ---------------------------------------- With Linux, I had no problems. I write the lines in the console and it updates itself.

Updated to version 4.2.0 today (08.03.19|18:45 CST) After the 4.2.0 updated completed and the server reloaded, there were several plugins requiring update and a message to reboot server for updates to be installed. After reboot to allow updating to plugins server loaded but I no longer have access to the server dashboard. I am logged in as an Administrative user and have tried all available links from the home page to no avail.

If Samsung have stopped taking update requests from Emby for Orsay/H series TVs, then why do I still get app updates for other apps? Only a few days ago, TUNE IN app got an update and when Channel 4 updated their app, it also got updated. There have also been other apps updated. The H5600 was sold in the UK until 2017 as there was no 1080p replacement for the 22" size screen for quite some time. The H6700 is a secondary 55" TV I own that also has 3D.

I see on: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases What is this new change to small "Mono" release .zips? How does this work compared to before? Where are the full release .zips? Before, there where the full system folder in those .zip that i could just unzip and replace the system folder on my sever to change versions easy....but these new mono versions are far to small to do that. EDIT: I noticed the Pinned post has a different link that gives the full versions...though I still don't know what "mono" versions are though. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases

Set Server to ONLY manual update, but installed latest version nevertheless
One2Go posted a topic in General/Windows
I unticked in the server settings the box to automatically update. The server was not used fort one month, started up the HTPC and version 3.2.24.0 loaded. Updated the Anti Virus software which required a restart. Now server version 3.2.27.0 loaded. I like to leave my present running version a bit longer until no further complications have been reported. How can I change the settings that this will not happen again. I thought I did everything correct so as to control the updates, what is needed in addition. O2G -
Hi, since a few week I noticed my library is not syncing anymore: when new movies or episodes get added I have to perform a manual refresh to get the changes pushed through. I tried reinstalling after doing a library purge (erasing all emby addon settings) and also tried on a completely differnt system. Kodi is OSMC (latest build) Any help is appreciated !

I recall this happened a few months ago, and I'm running into again now. Emby Dashboard shows I'm running 3.2.15.1 and that 3.2.15.5 is currently available. Yet when I run apt-get update & apt-get dist-upgrade, nothing is found. It's done this on all the incremental updates from *.1 to now. If anyone else is having this issue, I'd love to know it's not just on my end.

Hi, Well there is a new Emby update on the Asustor App. Central - update 3.0.7200.r1 ... but the question is, does it wipe the settings & metadata like previous updates ? Admin Luke - Has Asustor R&D got back to you regarding this problem ? And do you know if it is worth updating to this version if it's going to wipe everything again ? Has anyone else updated this version off the App Central on their Asustor NAS yet ? And if so, does it wipe everything back to a brand new installation like all previous updates ? Thanks PS. I think I asked this already but can't find where, so have started new thread.

Since I updated my emby to Version 3.0.5847.0 it is taking a long time for WMC to populate. This began happening with Version 3.0.5843.0. It does populate but it is not as fast as it was prior to the update. It also is not showing the new items as quickly as it did and in some cases not at all. I've had to use emby theater to see my new items. Fixed

I've recently updated to the latest Emby Server on OSX and after some difficulty with the install and re-install, I finally got everything working. Now a new problem has come up... Every time a new title is added to the library and a sync is performed, the new title will not play. I've tried playing from the actual server itself, as well as remotely with the same results. I just end up with a blank screen after I hot the green arrow on the title screen. The only way to get everything to work again is to install an older version of Emby and then perform the manual update. This method can be a little time consuming... does anyone have this similar issue and/or have any suggestions? Thanks, Cory

I run Mediabrowser 3 on a Server 2012 Essentials box, and have for over a year or so. I use the service side of Mediabrowser, as the Windows server does not autologon. I am running the Dev builds of Mediabrowser (just updated before posting this to v3.0.5509.223), which may be the cause of the issue I am having. This is also an issue I had in the past, it cleared automagically, but has now been back for at least the last month or so. Basically what happens is I cannot shut down the MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe process. In the past, I believe it may have been related to a plugin. The only plugins I am running are: Auto Box Sets, CoverArt 4.0, MB Bookshelf, Rotten Tomatoes Reviews, and the Server Configuration Backup. This means whenever an update is available, I have to: set the service to "Disabled" Reboot the physical server Start the application, not the service Complete the update Go back and set the service to automatic Reboot the server again. Anyone seen this or have any suggestions? I have the workaround in place, but this whole process is a royal pain.

My server quite often fails when checking for updates and plugin updates. The error message is: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive. Is this happening to anyone else. I'm trying to determine if it's something on the update servers side or something in my router? If I run the updates task enough times it eventually completes successfully. Thank you, David

Is there any way to not take automatic updates of the MB server? I had everything working great, i see i have upgraded at least a few times this month by the notifications. I am typing this and waiting for the text to show up as my 8 core PC is slowed to a crawl scanning library after a server restart. Is it possible to chose when to upgrade the server.

With the default settings in MB Classic/MB Server I'm often interrupted to update either the server or the client and/or to perform restarts. I have MB Server running as a service. I would like to know: is it possible to fully automate all updates to occur at a scheduled time (like 3AM), that requires no day to day intervention? If not, how do I disable the existing semi-automatic updating and then manually update?
