    How to kill 4K Transcodes

4K Transcodes take an absurd amount of CPU and is something I would like to avoid especially when I have 1080p copies of media files available for playing for devices which cannot handle playing 4K content natively. However, I cannot find a way to kill 4K transcode that works across clients no matter what I try. A common example of a client that cannot be stopped is 1. Open a 4k file in Emby theater and start transcoding 2. Minimize the stream 3. Try to kill it, nothing works. Some of the things I've tried are: REST API to kill the stream or even show the user a message Plugin to kill the stream via the Plugin API Disabling the user completely via the user config Removing library access from the user in the user config A script that loops and kills the FFMPEG constantly. None of these options resulted in the stream dying. So what magic must I do to kill a stream, any help would be appreciated!
  2. Hey I was wondering if there is a way to either hide collections made by the auto collections plugin, or to stop collections from being formed in the first place. There are a couple of collection that plugin creates that I do not want. Every time I run the plugin the collections are created and I have to go and delete them, It's kinda of annoying. Thanks for the help guys.
  3. Hello, HELP ME PLEASE!!!! I purchased the HDMI wifi EXCast4K dongle --> https://shopping.ezcast.com/prod/ezcast4k It works fine but has some problems because Emby server can transmit video files via DLNA protocol to the dongle, but it is not possible to control the time or volume. Using other types of software and transmitting the DLNA video stream to the dongle, time and volume control is possible. Could you verify and possibly solve the problem by reporting it to the programmers? I am available to perform all the tests you want to help you solve. Thank you
  4. on win10 tablet, after 10 minutes of playing something, playback gets cut off and i found this in the event log The system is entering connected standby Reason: Idle Timeout. happens for both audio & video files seems that somehow the idle timer is not "informed" that there is something playing haven't used ET on the tablet for a couple of weeks, but i'm sure, the last time i did, this didn't take place
  5. My post processing cuts 3 seconds off the beginning and ending of shows before removing commercials to remove some/any corruption, so I always set it to start and stop 1 full minute before and after. but that is sometimes too much time, I'd much rather start and stop 3-10 seconds before and after.. So I'd like the ability to do like 0.01 or 0.1 minutes.

    Emby Server randomly stops working

Hi guys, I'm worthless at Linux overall but trying to learn more and more so bear with me in this case and I barely know how to read the log file either so ...... >.> My issue is that my Emby-server randomly just stops working on my Ubuntu 17.04. I try to run "sudo service emby-server start" when it stops working but that doesn't help so I have to restart my whole server. I have my shares mapped via fstab if that helps anything but I guess this isn't the issue as the same shares have been used by Plex earlier and worked like a charm. My Emby server is like 2 weeks old and I have had it updated 2 times I think but no update solved it. I have attached a Log-file that I took right after I restarted my server. Any help I can get is much appreciated! Log.txt
  7. Ember stutters when playing MKV files. Also, Audio seems to get out of sync and several MKV file stop playing altogether. However, those that stutter and stop playing work fine when playing them with MPC-HC, VLC and Movies and TV across the network in my own home. I'm running Ember version: 4.1.160 on Win 10 Home ver 1607 with Intel i7-3720QM CPU w/ 8GB Ram. Please advise.
