  1. Anybody know how to setup ReadyNas so it allows deleting of videos? I know it only plays videos when you allow anonymous access, which I have done and it plays just fine but when I try and delete anything I get "There was an error deleting the item from Emby Server. Please check that Emby Server has write access to the media folder and try again." I have every single account selected read/write, including the everyone group. The anonymous access group is just a checkbox on/off so it has no permissions. Any ideas?

    Noob questions

So I'm pretty much brand new to the media server thing, and hoping someone can jump start my feeble knowledge on the subject. I've got a netgear R6350, so I can't install the emby server side app on it, but it is capable of running NAS via USB. I'm looking to run emby client side from Roku TVs/boxes. Can I set up the server manually (via IP and port) or do you have to have both the client and server side communicating?
  3. Hello, I am experiencing random crashes with my Emby server. I am not sure what causes it in most circumstances, however I have been able to replicate the crash fairly consistently by listing my music and then sorting by artist and then scrolling through the sorted listings after clicking on a letter of my choice. (e.g. I click on Artist, then click on "S" and then begin to scroll and a crash results.) It has also been randomly crashing when browsing through movies. (Generally fine once the movie starts to play.) I don't think this is tied to any client side web browsers as the cra

    PErmissions on RN316

I just installed the server on ReadyNAS 316 V6.9.2 I made it to the setup wizard when I hit a wall. emby will not allow me to add my media folders. I think it is a permissions issue. My movies folder is a subfolder named; /home/myname/Movies/ When I select /home/myname/ it just stops and displays nothing new. Of course it is not possible to add the user "emby" to the home folder permissions. .. Thanks to Netgears inadequate permissions management system. So, how does one go about fixing this? That 'other' media server beginning with a 'P' does not have any problem acces
  5. I installed the Emby server, got the lifetime license, and still the app will constantly switch itself off. I rebooted the NAS and even uninstalled and reinstalled the server app. While it works great when it is on and connected, it will just switch off whenever it feels like it. (When I say "switch off"I mean it toggles the on/off on the ReadyNAS424 and becomes unavailable.)
  6. My current MBS is version 3.0.5192.19560. My media library is on a ReadyNAS NVX and I use the ReadyNAS built-in backup engine to shoot the files to an external drive. Since I started using MB Server incremental backups take hours even when no new files have been added. The files that the backup has processed have time stamps from before the last backup so they don't appear to have changed. Does MBS periodically "touch" the files somehow in a way that might make the backup engine think they are altered? Partial ReadyNAS log file below. Any thoughts on this mystery appreciated.
