Hi there, New to Truenas Scale and Kubernetes and the like. I usually use an Ubuntu flavour as a server platform. I have had Emby Premiere for a couple of years now. This is the Official app, not Truecharts. I seem to have an profile that can't seem to keep it's Emby Connect profile saved. I am not sure if it is a crash that erases it, or if I have set something up incorrectly that does not let it persist. Everything else persists though, so it is quite confusing to me. I've performed restarts of the server from the Emby Web GUI, I've stopped and started the server from the Truenas Web GUI, and the Emby Connect seems to persist all through that. So I am guessing it is crashing at some point and Truenas recovers the server, but during this recovery it does not include Emby Connect in the profile. It is the only profile set up on the server. Does anyone have any suggestions to track down my issue? I am a little out of my depth. Thank you.

Hi All, I am trying to configure DLNA-profile for my Sony Bravia KDL-40WE665, which supposedly hit the market in 2017. Wasn't there a way to "copy" an existing profile into a new one? When I just add a new profile, it is pretty much all empty. When I modify an existing (server-)profile, it says "Internal Server Error" when I save it, and the profile returns to normal when the emby-Server is restarted. So, what am I missing? What is the easiest way to make up a new profile that is based on an existing one? Thank you all, RooDee

using Emby with profiles... myself/wife/kids.. as many folks, we each have our own devices too.. we're all able to stream from our own tvs/phones, but when we try to "download" content, the server seams to think all our devices are the same.. when i go to emby > manage server > devices - i see my device there, and each of theirs, but when on their devices and request to download a show, it shows up under my device, under manage downloads (and then shows up on my phone) i've tried deleting all our profiles from the devices section of manage server, uninstalled/reinstalled the app in their phone. when i choose content from the server, select download to.. > son's phone, it shows up under manage downloads on his phone. but then when i look at my phone, it shows up there now too.. it seams that deleting all the profiles from the server, and then testing with his phone, now we're all using his profile for managing downloads.. are we not each able to have our own downloads??

Hi Everyone Sorry if this has already been asked for before and exists, I have tried looking, but I could not find anything that made it work. I have Emby Server 4.4.2.0 installed on my shield, with media files stored on an external HDD that is not adopted storage (playback works perfectly on the shield). I have been trying to get the TV upstairs, which is a Panasonic GT30 Series TV (2011 model) to play my media files from the Shield through DLNA. I can connect to the Shield server on DNLA and view folders but I have not been able to get any of my media to play. I have 2 types of media with and without subtitles. Container Video Codec Audio Codec mp4 h.264 aac - no subtitles mkv mpeg2video ac3 - no subtitles mkv mpeg2video ac3 - DVD subtitles un-related to the shield set-up, I have managed to connect the TV through DLNA to a 3rd Party server on my laptop and play all of the media files perfectly on the TV, so I know the tv can play the media files through DLNA, with some Transcoding/re-muxing taking place on the Server. I used Mezzmo Server and selected the default Viera 2011 profile on that server. I was able to see that the input was mp4, h.264, aac and the output file that played was mpegts, h.264, ac3 input was mkv, mpeg2video, ac3 and the output file that played was mpeg, h.264, ac3 input was mkv, mpeg2video, ac3 and the output file that played was mpeg, h.264, ac3 with burnt in Subs I have attached the 2011 viera profile that I used in Mezzmo, is there anyway that someone could help me to put the information contained on that profile, into a workable profile on Emby, ideally with no subs being burnt in or displayed I have tried to do this myself but I do not really understand it and have not been able to make it work,I have tried many different profile settings and Custom profiles putting in the output files that worked as the transcoding targets in Emby, but I just can't get it to work. The Panasonic Profile on Emby does not seem to work for me. I really hope someone can help me with this, and thanks in advance to anyone reading this post and thinking about helping me, I know I could get a media streamer to solve this but I would prefer to get the correct details in a profile. Hello, As a Background. I'm using Emby Server (latest stable edition) on a Synology 916+. This manages only my media library I don't use live TV options. Kodi image using OSMC on two Vero4k unit (wired and wireless for different TV) On this Vero4k unit I'm using the latest update, with Kodi Leia vs 18.2 (May update) I'm using Emby for Kodi addon latest stable. I have three kodi profiles, that when I go to that profile, loads up the appropriate Emby user, and the library is in sync with the user library. On Kodi 17.6 this worked a treat. Problem Following the update to Leia, the whole Kodi Profile has been reported as unstable, and will be withdrawn (and replaced with something else I'm sure) in Kodi Vs19. For my system when I log off a Kodi Profile (say the kids profile) and try to log onto a new profile, I typically have a hit and miss process of either Kodi system crash, freeze, or at best a long delay in switching. For the moment on the OSMC forum I was advised to either - return to Kodi 17.6 or - move to one profile in Leia. Questions If I use the one Kodi profile option, I believe I can use the Emby Con user profile options to control content. But I don't believe there is a similar option in Emby for Kodi addon. 1) Is there a switch profile option in the addon Emby for Kodi? 2) Is Emby Con (and profile switching) allowed in Embruary skin? 3) Can I use both Emby Con and Emby for Kodi to profile management and allow background library sync to occur, reducing the network strain (library sync) on the relatively low powered Vero4k unit. (And also use the excellent features of Emby for Kodi) Many thanks

put together a new freenas (11.2)...installed emby...and, everyting is working fine except for majority (approx. 98%) of my mkv files being seen and played back as mpg files. along with the mkv files, not all, but some of my mp4 files are being treated/seen as mpg files. now playing videos via the webapp is fine, and it's not my concern. however, playing thru DLNA is a different story. any ideas as what i can do to alleviate this issue. i mean, i had it on my old build, too, but never really tried to solve this problem. now, i need to because the samsung emby is giving me an error (this will be another post so i'm not gonna focus it on here). i have an anime file: [FFF] Hagure Yuusha no Estetica - 01 [bD][1080p-FLAC][73F7748E].mkv. when i look and play this file on my samsung tv, it sees it as an mpg file; and, i assume, emby transcode it as such to the tv. any help and reply is greatly appreciated. thank you!

Are there any instructions on how to setup a dlna profile? I looked on the help page but it says coming soon 2015. I thought it would be nice to get emby working on the bedroom (in case we are ill etc), the television is an 8 year old Panasonic TX-P50VT20B. It shows the thumbnails at the side of the video but when I try to play them it just goes into large coloured static squares with no sound. I did wonder if it was too old to play the videos so I installed Synology Media Server to try, at first the panasonic just said un-playable on all the videos. I then went into the settings and just tick all the boxes to transcode everything and they all seem to work and play -- BUT I would like to use them through emby as the media server only shows actual folders whereas Emby shows tv shows, collections, movies along with played, unplayed etc which is way,way better. So, I know it can be done, I just don't know what to do in Emby profiles to get it to work. I am also unclear as to whether it should be the Panasonic vierra profile or the general profile as when I connect to it nothing shows on the dashboard to say it has connected or playing - not sure if it should or not? One thing I should say, is that in media server the format shows as "VIDEO" when you select one where in Emby it shows as "MPEG2-TS", which according to the panasonic manual it should be able to play?! but doesn't! Thanks

Hi, I'm a new Emby user currently trying to test and get a robust setup and things are going encouragingly well so far. I'm running the server on a 2012 mac mini and have managed to sort remote access over https with an external domain - all is working well via the web clients on my laptop, phone and tablet. I am however having a couple of teething problems with DLNA, I have 2 Bravia TVs of different types and manufacturing years - neither works particularly well browsing for network content. The Emby server is found, my older Bravia (KDL-32W653A) displays the content nicely in folders but plays the TV series with subtitles embedded in. The newer Bravia (KDL-42W829B) basically chucks all media out into one huge page in what looks like an unordered mess and no search either, not really useable! No issue really as I'm happy to cast from my laptop or phone or tablet to either TV, this works perfectly for the new Bravia and I can do this from my laptop, phone + ipad which is ideal, 200 response and streams nicely: (I think that's what it's indicating there!) 2018-02-10 00:59:08.359 Info HttpServer: HTTP HEAD http://192.168.1.75:8096/videos/c37620d9319685013f669562c61695fc/stream.ts?Params=3d91ff4959a3afb3e31fa938aa7e8aec;uuid:00000000-0000-1010-8000-fcf15211ae55;c37620d9319685013f669562c61695fc;false;h264;ac3;1;6;139552000;448000;;30;1920;1080;0;;;;;;34ca5bda97f0477e92c038249b0a29a2;;;c37620d9319685013f669562c61695fc;false;Encode;;false;22cfe725492ce27bc20f0e1d14c35c77;false;;false;false;SubtitleCodecNotSupported. getcontentFeatures.dlna.org=1, Pragma=getIfoFileURI.dlna.org, transferMode.dlna.org=Streaming, X-AV-Physical-Unit-Info=pa="BRAVIA KDL-42W829B";, X-AV-Client-Info=av=5.0; cn="Sony Corporation"; mn="BRAVIA KDL-42W829B"; mv="1.7";, Host=192.168.1.75:8096 2018-02-10 00:59:08.361 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 200 to 192.168.1.68. I looked at the preset profiles and custom profile section in the server admin area but didn't really know where to start. I appreciate this probably isn't an easy one to sort without having access to the Bravia itself but wondered if I could get some pointers on how to get the device to be picked up at least to attempt to load it - I'm not great at regex and have never created a profile before so a bit out of my depth really! If it's any help, I've dug up the DLNA test certificate for the device: http://certification.dlna.org/certs/REG14144867.pdf Amazing work creating this wonderful software by the way - in my short time using it I think it's head and shoulders above what I've used in the past. I can see myself joining the Premier club once I've got myself sorted with the initial setup.

Hello emby team, Since iOS 11 it is now possible to provide keyboard input for your Apple TV with your phone or tablet. This is an awesome feature for logging on to Emby for password protected profiles. There is however one little snag, once the password has been entered it is not possible to press the enter key to trigger the login. You have to manually move the cursor to the login button and press it. Is this a limitation of the Apple UI or would it be possible to implement this function in the Emby app? Thank you!

LG TV App - Always request profile/user login when launching app
Jaans posted a topic in Feature Requests
x/post from https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/53854-request-profileuser-login-when-launching-app/ We user the LG TV App to access our emby server. Please add an option to require users to sign in every time the app is launched. I realise not everyone would want this, but if it is a setting that we could enable that would be awesome. Not all the members in our household remember to navigate the app to switch to their user account. Consequently, the media and already watched tracking statistics are getting messed up. We have two problems here. The first not able to clearly see which user is currently signed in, and the second is not asking the person viewing which user profile they should be using. Another great improvement would be to easily mark an item as NOT watched from the app and vice versa. -

Addin to launch specific MB profiles as workaround for entrypoints
dmrc posted a topic in Tools and Utilities
I got it working now, but i did it with your previous launcher (http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/1127-entry-points-in-mce7-not-working/?p=43640) When entering one of the entry points the screen flashes the desktop for a split second but it works. I could not figure out how to use your new application with MCE reset tool. Tomorrow when i have some more time i'll try again, but for now it is working.... Thanks.- 67 replies

DLNA error when playing codecs found in CodecProfiles or not in a DirectPlayProfile

I've managed to create a working Vizio profile that will play all media files. Two problems, it's kinda hacked since I cant figure out the identifying information that the Vizio client sends to the server and the only thing that the server says even in debug mode is that it's matching it to the SAMSUNG tv profile so I based it on that. Second thing is that it does pause every so often due to the memory handling of the Opera SDK that the vizio dlnas are built on top of but it can be minimized by lowering the bitrate. I can share it if anyone is interested and could refine it if someone can either tell me the identifying string or direct me how to find it myself.

I know I must be missing something simple that maybe I changed when I first installed. When I was setting this up I was always logging in as myself. Now that things are mostly working I wanted it, on launch to be able to go to the login screen and you either select myself or the Kids user. I have the kids user set up but I can't figure out what I need to do to get it to ask at each login. Thanks Josh

Hello I want to watch movies stored on my Emby server with my VU+ Linux receiver. As there is no native Emby client for Enigma2 system, I have choosen to use DNLA I have a Emby Server (3.0.6050.0) as a DNLA Server. I have a VU+ Solo receiver that I want to use as a DNLA Client (receiver). I have created a VU+ Profile (from the Kodi profile) with UserAgent: Linux (Substring) in the identification HTTP Header section. My VU+ Solo is running the Black Hole image 3.02f which includes a DNLA Plugin (based on djmount). When I started the plugin on my VU+ it recognizes my Emby server. No problem. I have also installed Media Player De Luxe on my VU+ in order to play the movies. On my VU+. I can browse directories, sub directories, etc.. but I don't see any movie files listed. What is wrong ? Thanks for any help

I want to change the base width of the div.card.squareCard.bottomPaddedCard on the login page that is used to display avatars that are not hidden during login. This width changes based on @@Media min-width variables, so I also want to change all those so the profile images are smaller across the board, but I can't seem to get the CSS code to take effect. Trying to affect this code (user-id and domain code replaced with question marks) <div class="card squareCard bottomPaddedCard"> <div class="cardBox visualCardBox"> <div class="cardScalable"> <div class="cardPadder"></div> <a class="cardContent" href="#" data-ajax="false" data-haspw="true" data-username="admin" data-userid="?????"> <div class="cardImage" style="background-image:url('?????/emby/Users/?????/Images/Primary?width=600&tag=?????&quality=90');"></div> </a> </div> <div class="cardFooter"> <div class="cardText">admin</div> <div class="cardText">Last seen a minute ago</div> </div> </div> </div> Looks like the base code for the width of the outer HTML element copied above is only controlled by this, line 307 of card.css .squareCard { width: 50%; } I should be able to override this code by declaring the element in addition to its class, but to be safe I'm declaring two of its parents. #loginPage #divUsers div.squareCard { width: 33.333%; } And it doesn't work. I've already added some small level of anonymity to the login page by hiding the username and last seen time from display. I use the same method and avoid using any !important shortcuts in the css. (Edit: I apply this code in Settings > Branding > Custom css) I also tried to !important this and it has no effect. Any ideas? -------------------------------------- Screenshots... current live display: desired display:

i do a fair amount of traveling for work and so i now travel with a pi2 or NVidia Shield tablet with multiple profiles for when i travel vs being at home and i use trakt.tv to keep my watched status and such inline with each other. question i have is how do i effectively "Disable" the emby plugin for kodi for only certain kodi profiles? for example in kodi i have x2 main profiles: emby_database (works perfectly with all my movies available locally when i am at home) and a traveling_database (no real library, I just stream from other kodi plugins). it appears that the emby plugin for kodi is "global" and that it installs for all users and when i'm traveling it always prompts me to setup the emby account. at home my emby server is behind a firewall and such so i will never really see that server from the outside world which is ok, problem is that i cannot seem to find how to disable this emby setup prompt my other "traveling_database" kodi profile/user. I looked through the forums and could not find another post similar to this one but i apologize if it is a duplicate. thanks!

Good Day All, I'm looking for a "kid friendly" view to fit my child's profile where they can login, see the "Kids Movies" folder i've created, click said folder, see said movies (or just see said movies to begin with and skip the top level folder view), and then simply do a "Click to Play" function. My 4yr old doesn't really have the desire, yet, to read about reviews, plots, see what actors are in it. She just wants to watch her movies. Also, is there a way to eliminate the scrolling tabs at the top that call out Home/Next Up/Favorites/Upcoming? another feature that i'd love to eliminate for simplicity purposes. Thank you all for your time and thoughts, sd

Hi, I have 2 vlans with same smart TV (LG WebOS) on each vlan. I want to limit access to library for 1st TV in 1st vlan, and allow full access for 2nd TV in 2nd vlan. Because, they are almost equals models (700/730) I can't filter it by User-Agent. I have cloned profile, but changed names, so I have 2 profiles, and in each profile I have selected different user. 1. Can I (how to) filter by device IP ? I have tried this in identification section, but it does not work <Identification> <FriendlyName>LG Smart+ TV</FriendlyName> <ModelNumber>1.0</ModelNumber> <SerialNumber /> <ModelName>LG TV</ModelName> <DeviceDescription /> <ModelUrl>http://www.lge.com/</ModelUrl> <Manufacturer>LG Electronics.</Manufacturer> <ManufacturerUrl>http://www.lge.com</ManufacturerUrl> <Ip>192.168.2.8</Ip> <Headers> <HttpHeaderInfo name="User-Agent" value="LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK" match="Substring" /> </Headers> </Identification> 2. I have tried identify by host server IP (because emby runs on multiple interfaces, host is different for each vlan) <Identification> <FriendlyName>LG Smart+ TV</FriendlyName> <ModelNumber>1.0</ModelNumber> <SerialNumber /> <ModelName>LG TV</ModelName> <DeviceDescription /> <ModelUrl>http://www.lge.com/</ModelUrl> <Manufacturer>LG Electronics.</Manufacturer> <ManufacturerUrl>http://www.lge.com</ManufacturerUrl> <Headers> <HttpHeaderInfo name="User-Agent" value="LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK" match="Substring" /> <HttpHeaderInfo name="Host" value="192.168.2.5" match="Substring" /> </Headers> </Identification> 3. is there any other way how to unique identify TVs ? I'm running latest dev version 3.0.5725.41620. Thank You

Hi i have problems to share hd contend to my original xbox through XBMC4Xbox becuase most of the content in h264 they are generally too high resolution for the old Xbox hardware capabilities. i spent some days making profiles but none work becuase despite of video trascoding, the bitrate still to high for the hardware. after some time in undestand how the dlna profiles work i made it, i tested some days and is working in all my hd media. i share my little contribution to the community. i choose trancoding 480p instead 720p beacuse the quality of the video, 480p have more bitrate and better codec instead of have a video 720p with low bitrate and other codec to make work in the xbox. <?xml version="1.0"?> <Profile xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" Hi, Is there a way to prevent users from changing my preferences or removing this icon and allowing the administrator only to set these preferences in the users (edit this users personal preferences), as this is being rolled out across a school to 1500 students, children will play with settings and cause alot of work.

Hi, I am testing Media Browser 3 in a school network environment, it is working very well with over 50 users signed up, we need to find a way to restrict/disable the user from changing their password, username and profile details. Is there a way of implementing this, once we have this setup this will be used for over 1500 users, on laptops, tablets, phones, DNLA devices and computers, so this is a very good testing ground. I look forward to hearing your suggestions. Many thanks Nathaniel

I've grown a little tired of Plex, the recent price hikes were the last straw so looking to use Media Browser. One thing I cannot replicate with Media Browser is that Plex integrates nicely into my Popcorn Hours, has an App and I can remote fling How can I create a Popcorn Hour profile for Media Browser? Also they are capable of being DLNA target but cannot see them on the web browser cast menu. They basically play anything you can throw out them, so a profile similar to the WDTV will be great. Here's a profile of it from Bubble uPnP
