  1. Hello all, I've been slowly converting my Music library into Emby, and I am noticing something that is a slight annoyance. It seems to be at random but Emby does not always import the Overview metadata for the album from MusicBrainz. Sometimes I have to click on the link for MusicBrainz Release Group id, and copy the Wikipedia data off the website myself. I can't find any reason why sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Has anybody else run into this? Thanks!

Audio MB Data does not show

There are a couple of artists that do not show their MB data. Why can that be? For most artists with Info this works perfectly.. Thanks!
  3. Hi all, The title says it all, I am updating all my libraries, and the logs are filled with Musicbrainz BadGateway errors like this one: 2020-01-01 18:48:28.539 Info HttpClient: GET https://musicbrainz.emby.tv/ws/2/release/?query=reid:7c7dd421-e557-482a-b4c2-c77aefcdde89 2020-01-01 18:48:28.676 Error App: Error in MusicBrainz *** Error Report *** Version: 4.3.1.0 Command line: /opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.deb Operating system: Unix 4.15.0.70 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Runtime: file:///opt/emby-server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 4 Program data path: /var/lib/emby Application directory: /opt/emby-server/system MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: MediaBrowser.Model.Net.HttpException: BadGateway at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpClientManager.CoreHttpClientManager.SendAsyncInternal(HttpRequestOptions options, String httpMethod) at Emby.Server.Implementations.HttpClientManager.CoreHttpClientManager.SendAsync(HttpRequestOptions options, String httpMethod) at MusicBrainz.MusicBrainzAlbumProvider.GetMusicBrainzResponse(String url, Boolean isSearch, Boolean forceMusicBrainzProper, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MusicBrainz.MusicBrainzAlbumProvider.GetSearchResults(AlbumInfo searchInfo, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MusicBrainz.MusicBrainzAlbumProvider.GetMetadata(AlbumInfo id, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at MediaBrowser.Providers.Manager.MetadataService`2.ExecuteRemoteProviders(MetadataResult`1 temp, String logName, TIdType id, IEnumerable`1 providers, CancellationToken cancellationToken) Source: Emby.Server.Implementations TargetSite: Void MoveNext() I have tries from a browser, and I get the same result: https://musicbrainz.emby.tv/ What is up with it? Does this mean my metadata in Emby is empty now and will be filled/updated at the next scrape?
  4. Hello. Thanks for Emby! I've been a Premiere subscriber for several months while using it for Video. However, I added a small music library today, and the scanning got stuck around 87%. I checked the logs and I see a bunch of instances of the following two HttpClient and MusicBrainz errors: 2019-10-15 14:56:26.904 Error HttpClient: Error RequestCanceled getting response from *** I only have the MusicBrainz downloaders and fetchers enabled, as I consider them my source of truth. All my music is tagged and renamed with MusicBrainz Picard. I haven't done anything to manually manipulate the iocage jail, everything should be stock FreeNAS+Emby. Thanks!

    MusicBrainz Metadata

Hi, I usually do a preprocess of my music with Picard/MusicBrainz before uploading. Also, Emby uses MusicBrainz to scan for metadata. I'm wondering that maybe this is a redundant process and I can safely disable the Musicbrainz metadata from Emby. Am I correct? Thank you in advance.
  7. I detected this several weeks ago but I only had time to report it now. I'm running Emby 5930 (latest stable). Can't remember the exact Emby version when the problem started but since some time now (maybe two months) my library scans went from around 2:30mins to around 12-14 mins. Today I was checking the logs and I saw tons of exceptions while contacting musicbrainz.org since the site is returning a 503 error for many requests from Emby: 2016-04-19 21:32:01.4539 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: http://www.musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/?query="(2001)+Just+Push+Play" AND arid:3d2b98e5-556f-4451-a3ff-c50ea18d57cb 2016-04-19 21:32:01.6613 Error HttpClient: Error getting response from http://www.musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/?query="(2001)+Just+Push+Play" AND arid:3d2b98e5-556f-4451-a3ff-c50ea18d57cb *** Error Report *** Version: 3.0.5930.0 Command line: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /var/lib/emby-server -restartpath /usr/lib/emby-server/restart.sh Operating system: Unix 3.10.0.327 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: /var/lib/emby-server Mono: 4.2.1 (Stable 4.2.1.102/6dd2d0d Wed Jan 13 16:44:34 UTC 2016) Application Path: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe One or more errors occurred. I try to disable MusicBrainz as a metadata source and the library scans are back to "normal", taking just 2:30mins. Is anyone else also seeing this behavior or is just me? I'm not familiar with MusicBrainz, is it like opensubtitles that requires to have a user account to query the site? Cheers.
  8. I guess this picture pretty much explains the situation I'm having. Happened for a few albums, Emby correctly identifies them, but doesn't replace the artwork for all songs.
  9. I'm on server version 3.0.5781, and sometimes, Emby doesn't pick up musicbrainzID's for certain music files, although they are all properly tagged with the MBID. Can anybody confirm this behaviour?
  10. Added an album today prechecked by picard so all tags were perfect. MB3 submitted an identification query to mbz (as shown in logs) which returns a specific correct result (when i tested it) and yet the album remains unidentified in MB3. More strangley MB3 must have been aware on some level of the correct response as further fetching is performed on the studio and release group in the response...and yet the album remains unidentified in dashboard. 12. Hope someone can help here. I am using Musicbrainz picard to tag my music collection, but it doesn't appear to be adding the artists id or overview to the artists text file. Can someone tell me how to set this up in Musicbrainz Picard? Many thanks for your help
  13. I think the album description fetching is very good and informative. I was surprised to find a couple of albums in collection (without having to look hard, I suspect there are a few) where the mbz album id was populated and the album description was either blank or the old last fm one with html tags. in both cases by manually populating the release group id (which was blank), the good album description fetched. but as the there is only one known (to mbz) release group id for an album id....shouldn, t mb3 have already populated the info?
  14. When adding an album with id3tag "Seeking Major Tom" to the filesystem as foldername W:\Music\William Shatner\(2011) Seeking Major Tom, the fetch is performed on the folder name and fails. 2014-08-16 13:07:42.1543 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: http://www.musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/?query="(2011)+Seeking+Major+Tom" AND arid:a406a684-7c88-442b-836d-3b9b67bbc91d later when refreshing the album object manually the fetch is performed against (what i assume is) the id3 tag and works. 2014-08-16 13:21:36.8830 Info - App: HttpClientManager GET: http://www.musicbrainz.org/ws/2/release/?query="Seeking+Major+Tom" AND arid:a406a684-7c88-442b-836d-3b9b67bbc91d is this expected behaviour?
  15. Version 3.0.5289.18702 I have an estimate 200 artists with red exclamations on them, not associated to a music brainz id. not strange in itself, however their names and content match (non ambiguously) music brainz 100%. proven by the fact that when i click 'identify' in dashboard i get a single match on music brainz. should i expect a scan library task to match automatically? A refresh on artist, automatically matches. How do i force a refresh of all artists (not album artists)? i dont think that the affected artists are showing in the log after a scan library task. thanks
  16. I have lots of tracks whose artist matches music brainz directly eg I will follow him by Little Peggy March http://musicbrainz.org/search?query=I+Will+Follow+Him+little&type=recording&method=indexed http://musicbrainz.org/artist/1de1abbd-d800-41e6-9967-d3f904b2bb80 I Will Follow Him 2:26 Little Peggy March despite musicbrainz being aware, there is no match for artist 'little peggy march', mb3 will only match the primary name 'peggy march' consequent lots of artists especially classical ones dont get matched. eg no match for lisa hartman black eg no match for Morse;Portnoy;George http://musicbrainz.org/search?query=Where+The+Streets+Have+No+Name+Morse+Portnoy+George&type=work&method=indexed ofra haza Phil Spector and Artists McGuinn
  17. I am a heavy MusicBrainz user and I have two issues with how MBS is populating metadata for music albums: It is not using the MusicBrainz ID from the ID3 tag information in the local files which are accurate because I have checked them. It is querying the MusicBrainz database based on the directory name and pulling the wrong information. I have a lot of albums which are not in MusicBrainz and have not imported them into MBS for fear of what it will do. The artist metadata works really well so I would like to leave that running but I would like MBS to collect all information on albums and tracks from the local files. So is it possible to turn off "download metadata from the internet" for music albums only?
  18. Would it be possible to have some sort of advanced option where one could specify their own musicbrainz mirror & apikey?
