    USB Installation problem

    Good morning I am having an issue with the usb installation. I insert the usb into the TV, but it doesn't automatically install the software. I have followed all the instrutions: - put the userwidget folder in the root of the usb - format the usb 2.0 to fat16 My TV is Samsung UE50RU7105 Any advice? (I can also post in Spanish)

    Transcoding Loop/Negative Value

    The issue the best i can tell is when an user start to get an transcoding loop (5-15secs) all the other transcoding stop or begin to loop. Transcoding who stop get an negative value.   3. Hello! I have a problem when streaming with Chromecast 2 gen, doesn't matter where it came from (Android, IOS, Web, etc) When watching some tv series, the playback is in great quality, smooth and RANDOMLY jump / skip to the next episode. It simply happen from NOWHERE. I don't know if it is my PC that is the problem or the chromecast itself. What kind of Logs do you guys need to check? I have at least 20 logs just from today trying to watch a single episode...
  4. Apologies for the rather long post, but I wanted to try and present all the relevant details as far as I've been able to tell... I'm encountering a persistent issue in the recordings Emby server on my Synology NAS makes. Specifically, in a number of cases the recorded video file, at some point within its duration (no pattern as far as I can tell), will show some corruption for a brief period - anything from virtually instantaneous to on/off over a few seconds - following which the audio will be significantly out of sync with the video (more than 2-3 secs, probably even >10 secs in some cases)... this then persists for the remainder of the recording. This has been occuring for quite a while, through multiple Emby server versions - almost certainly back to before v4. The issue only affects HD channels (I have OTA Freeview in the UK, so these are all H.264/AAC full HD DVB-T2 streams) - I've never seen it happen to an SD channel recording (MPEG2/mp2 576p DVB-T). Even within that, there's a dramatic difference between the HD channels themselves... the issue impacts: - approx. 60-65% of all BBC One HD recordings (>30 tested) - approx. 55% of all BBC Two HD recordings (>15 tested) - approx. 25% of all BBC Four HD recordings (>25 tested) I had thought it wasn't impacting any recordings at all from ITV HD, Channel 4 HD or Channel 5 HD (20 tested in total) - but then yesterday I had it happen to a Channel 4 HD recording for the first time (that I can remember / since I started taking notes). Note: it is very definitely a server-side issue and not a client payback one - the problem exists regardless of whether playing back through Emby, Plex, Kodi, or just using VLC or another media player on a PC to directly play the recorded .ts file - though sometimes the problem exhibits as a complete loss of audio rather than just being many seconds out of sync. Based on my observations and troubleshooting so far, I have reached the following tentative conclusions: #1. It does *not* seem to be a signal/aerial/tuner issue Since I had previously been using Plex as my DVR solution, until they royally messed up their EPG in the UK (& I've now come to appreciate a number of other Emby advantages!), I still had/have many programmes being simultaneously recorded through Plex as well as through Emby. These record using the exact same setup as Emby: a single rooftop aerial feed into an amplifying 4-way splitter, 3 of which feed into HDHomeRun Connect tuners connected to the same gigabit switch as the NAS is connected to. I have never had the issue occur with any of the Plex recordings, so the actual broadcast signal does not exhibit the problem. To check that it wasn't a problem with a particular one of the tuner devices, or the short aerial lead between that and the splitter, I switched around so that Emby recorded using the tuners previously used by Plex and vice versa - Emby continued to have the problem while Plex's recordings remained perfect. #2. It seems to be specific to the Synology version of Emby server Since the problem was only impacting Emby and not Plex, I installed a second Emby server as a test, on a very old Windows PC I'd stopped using but not yet thrown out. Again, this records from the same HDHomeRun tuners as the NAS-based Emby & Plex. So far, I have not encountered a single occurrence of the issue. As a further test (after reinstalling the main Emby server on the NAS, per #3 below), I also installed a third Emby instance using the Docker container image (running on the NAS, and again using the same tuners, etc.). While the sample set of tested recordings from this instance is probably still only around 10 total, none of them have exhibited the issue even though some of those programmes *have* had the problem in the parallel recording by the main Synology-package Emby server. #3. It doesn't seem to be due to a corrupted Emby installation Since the PC-based test Emby server showed no problems, I thought it might just be some kind of corruption in the Emby server installation on the NAS - which has by now been upgraded through multiple versions. I therefore removed the Emby package entirely and then re-installed it (after rebooting the NAS) and restored the server config using the backup plugin* Unfortunately, this seems to have had no effect and the issue continues as before. #4. It may have some relation to broadcast TS streams without timestamps? While recently developing a post-processing script to re-mux DVR recording files from .ts into .mkv format, to get lag-free skipping when playing back via my Nvidia Shield, a significant number of files can't be converted using ffmpeg as it complains about "Timestamps are unset in a packet for stream 0" and "Can't write packet with unknown timestamp". Interestingly, this seems to be the case only for recordings from those HD channels that are impacted by the AV sync issue (though ffmpeg fails whether the recording is impacted or perfectly OK) - plus I did see the same ffmpeg errors trying to convert the one Channel 4 HD recording yesterday that exhibited the AV sync issue. Unfortunately, while I can see how the absence of timestamps might play a part in continuing the huge audio sync issue following some slight corruption, I'm not sure if it helps explain why Synology-Emby has this recording problem when none of Windows-Emby, Docker-Emby or Plex do? Can anyone help with a suggestion as to any of: what the problem might be?, a potential resolution?, or what else I might do to further diagnose the issue? Would it be worth me finding the time to completely remove & reinstall the Emby package once again, but this time manually recreate the entire configuration rather than using the backup plugin? * BTW: major kudos on the excellent server config backup plugin - it only needs the addition of restoring series & recording schedules to make it virtually perfect! (Series especially, since it's not just an annoying effort to have to recreate them, but it's simply impossible to recreate any series schedule when that show is currently between seasons and so not in the guide.)

I have found a (Issue and this needs enhanced) because i have a friend who have downloaded a whole TV show to my mobile because both of us have the same Phone name and looks like than emby allow to see everyone devices as connected to emby through the list of downloads to device option let me explain in other words How I supposed to know wish iPhone is mine and the other 2 is my friend, as you can see there are 3 iPhone in the list because the devs don't have isolated it. I'm my moms tv with her accounts same thing (all device is listed) As you can see in above picture, I can allow to download my movies to any device from other users, it should have a isolated device list per users Like my computer and my smartphone and etc (My own devices only) .. But not showing me the device from others like my mom devices, it should be isolated between accounts (My user can download to my own device) (My moms can download to her device) I really don't understand why the devs don't have isolated the list by user. Like I have described above. Hopefully this will be fixed soon because is a security issue user may not be able to view devices from other users. Resume to do. Isolation between device account to don't allow users to download by mistake to a device from other users, so by this way the device is isolated by accounts and the retrieved(return or resulted) list was only the device from that user and not from the other.   6. So, I've got a baffling issue. I cannot remotely connect to the MB server I have running on a Windows 10 machine. I've tried all suggestions on the connectivity page. But even with the firewall temporarily off, I cannot connect. Local connections work fine. I don't have access to router settings due to the apartment complex having all the routers locked down (whitelist probably). But I even tried using my mobile hotspot and no dice. Canyouseeme reported no response on port 8096 or 8920 using either internet service. I even tried each connection again with a VPN (PIA) turned on on the host machine, though I didn't expect any good results from that.

    Annoying issues

    Hello Folks, I searched this whole forum looking for further information about the annoying issues below but I didn´t find anything 1) WTF happens that my collections always seem to get corrupt? I mean, sometimes I take some time joining a huge amount of movies into a collection and make sure the option "Group into collections" is checked but in many libraries they keep being displayed as single itens. I deleted the whole content of /var/lib/emby/data/collections/ and even reinstall Emby on my server but nothing seems to resolve this. Is there a fix or even a workaround to it? 2) Many times, when I try to edit metadata of a movie, the window just closes as I start to type in any field 3) Is there (and if it´s the case, what is) a correct way to add Animes? I´m using the following structure: Anime.Name.S01E01.Episode.Name.mkv but in most cases it seems not to be so efficient. Even using Anime plugin I couldn´t get my lists correctly populated. 4) How can I do to avoid my movies lose their information and metadata? Is not rare to see a movie losing the cover I previously set for it. I really appreciate any help in these questions, especially from the Emby Team. Stay safe at home and thank you in advance
  8. This only happens on my mobile device in shows that have a high number of seasons (20+). When I try to direct play (or direct stream idk the difference), this is how it looks like: https://i.imgur.com/EAkg2Qu.png . I'm using the latest emby server and emby app updates. This happens for all the episodes in the show. If I set the quality low enough (1 mbps) it forces transcoding instead of direct play and everything works as normal. I'd like to see this fixed so I can play it at full quality instead of having to set it low. I'm on a Pixel XL, Android 9.
  9. I just got a notification that there was an update for the server on my Shield, 4.4 I believe. Downloaded it through Chrome but after the 'staging app' screen when I click Install I immediately get an 'App not Installed' message. Tried downloading it to various places, internal drive, connected drive but exactly the same behaviour. I then tried the beta as well, but again exactly the same thing. I'm not really sure what else I can try other than uninstall the current version, which is but obviously that's a last resort as it's going to mean setting everything up again and will take a long time.. Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a fix? Maybe I'm being stupid? I should say I'm on the Hotfix path on the Shield 8.0.2 as I was losing HDMI sync constantly, which the hotfix seems to have sorted, but I'm not sure whether this would make any difference?
  10. I am unable to login to Open Subtitles on my Emby installation, on my Synology DS218+ NAS. I am an Emby Premiere member, and have checked that my login/password details for Open Subtitles are correct. When I click 'save', I get a spinning circle symbol that appears and nothing further happens. Any ideas how to fix this? Screenshot attached. Thanks!
  11. So I have some anime movies with dual audio and both audio tracks work fine when played locally on VLC but when played from the emby app one of the tracks (so far only English) would play with no sound. Any fixes ?

Hello, I just started ripping my Blue-Ray discs and I tested one of the two I ripped but it freezes a minute into playing in the browser at the same place every time and about 30 minutes into playing on the Apple TV (this was after a reboot of the server). The file is .MKV and is 26.6 GB and after a reboot and a fresh install of EMBY server I was able to play it all the way through, however another movie that is ~36 GB I press play and it will play for a few seconds and then stop and say "Opps, something when wrong. Document not found on stack." Although, when it is on the video menu the sound will start to play through the movie with no video. When I play that same video in the browser it will play for a few seconds longer. I am running EMBY Server on FreeNAS-11.2-U5 and I have 64 GB of ECC Ram. I don't have any problem playing the ripped DVDs. Thanks in advance for any help. Chad

I'm running the Emby app off an Android box with a typical mediacentre style remote and it's close to impossible to navigate using the arrow/directional keys as GUI elements are seemingly navigable at random. Most section titles on the home screen can be navigated to, but not all; individual titles on the home screen are unreachable; etc. It seems the only way to use the Android app is using touch/mouse input, which is not very comfortable doing from the couch. Are there any plans for allowing normal navigation using arrow keys? This is currently the only thing keeping Plex in use for me as it's a bit of deal-breaker for using Emby on the TV (an older Samsung, so the Emby app there is even worse).

    Visual rendering issue

    I am experiencing a visual contrast effect on my LG V10. I have tested it on several other phones with no issue. Also the mobile browser on the V10 works fine. I have reinstalled the app and updated the server but the issue persists. I have attached the mobile and server logs as well as screenshots from within the app and from the mobile browser. I manage to install emby server, configure to read data from a smb server (a synology Nas). 1) when i try to play a tv serie (video is in mkv x265 HD) i get some error (see the logs).   16. Hi, I'm having a fairly recent problem (not sure which version of Emby this has started from). When I try to stream a Live TV channel it doesn't play, I just get the spinning circle of death but when I refresh the page and try to play again it works fine. I have attached the server log and the two ffmpeg logs. I'm running the latest stable version of Emby 3.2.33 on Windows 10 with a DVBLink backend. Any help is greatly appreciated!   17. I am trying to map OTA channels to xmltv, but I have run into an issue. Some OTA channels have "programs" which appear as sub channels in the form of "chan.sub".   19. There is an issue with Emby's guide, where information from Schedules direct is being overwritten by the wrong data downloaded from the internet. Here is the data as seen in NextPVR, which reads from my schedules direct account And here is the same movie as seen by Emby I believe the root case could be related to the show having a translated title. The original title : Imperium (2016) Dubbed movie's french title : Infiltre (2016) zap2it data available: - critics' ratings - year (2016) - genre - director - full cast - a better cover picture than the one shown in NextPVR I thought schedules direct had the same data as zap2it, but I could be wrong.   20. Over the last couple of months, as I've sporadically upgraded emby, I've noticed some content streaming issues via DLNA to my KDL-42W670A. I've had these in the past but was extremely happy with how comprehensive emby was before now. Until Jan 1st I don't think I'd ever actually had something streamed by emby give me an Unsupported content warning. The most understandable is when something will stream, gives the warning, but then audio or video wont work... but extremely confusingly and somewhat telling that something is set wrong in the profile, I have a complete show that plays fine, Audio works, Video works... but displays the unsupported content warning over the top of the show that is playing fine!? I'm happy to dig in and begin tweaking the profile to try and find the source of the issue, but I'm not sure what the best way to begin debugging this issue is. I'm not even sure how I can confirm which profile emby is using to stream to the TV and that the issue isnt emby mistakenly using too new of a profile, one that might be meant for newer sony bravia tvs. Sony's website is frankly useless for this sort of info. I checked the codec support and the show that plays audio and video fine but with the unsupported content warning over the top is using the supported codecs, creating further confusion as to how to get to the bottom of this DLNA issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Fire TV (2nd Gen) Audio Issues

It dose not seem to be just Emby but also on Netflix, BBC news and a few other media applications. When ever a video is played either the audio dose not work at all or has an odd issue where it'll play normally for around 20 seconds then it'll drop out for a few seconds then come back and repeat the cycle. Its happening with all the containers and codecs I've tried so far including MP4 / MKV -ACC -AC3 -MP3 -Dolby surround Is anyone else having similar issues with it?

    Tunein plugin has no sound

    I have been using Emby without any problems for the last 6 months. It is a great product. I am currently having an issue with the TuneIn radio plugin. I installed it, but no audio will play. All the images and things download and look good, but when I click play I get an error in my web console. I have tried several different radio stations with no luck. I also checked the TuneIn site and it worked fine. I am using the browser and have tried it on Firefox and Chrome. Attached are my server logs and the console log from Chrome.   23. So I have a problem I am trying to figure out. Some files. All seem to be mkv files have an issue where the video never playes even remotly as clear as the original file. Even if Im playing it on the same machine the server is running on. Its not all mkv files just some shows do this. Im not sure how to fix it. An example where the streaming works fine it the show Game of thrones. I ripped and converted my blueray disk of the series into MKV Files. These play absolutely perfectly in 1080p. I would say they even look better than the original blueray disk. But lots of shows such as the show Arrow which I happen to have in MKV format do not play clear at all.     Recordings not scheduling

    Currently running beta with auto-update with auto-install enabled. I'm running Windows 10 and haven't had any issues until last night. Last night The Walking Dead(Series) and The Talking Dead(Series) didn't record. I checked the scheduled recordings this morning and noticed that I only have scheduled recordings for March 17th. I know Tosh.0 is on tomorrow and should be scheduled to record, even checked it in the guide and it shows as new during the time it should record; There's other shows that should be recording as well and aren't scheduled, for sake of ease and to confirm issues I picked only that show. I tried refreshing the guide, cleaning database, all the scheduled tasks, then restarting the server with no change. I then rebooted the PC and re-tried those tasks with no change so that's when I went into the logs.     Few issues with ET

    Hey, Just want to start off by saying thank you for a really amazing update on ET. Been waiting for this forever. So to the issues I got. First some how I have lost the option to use EVR. I got EVR+ and MADVR on the list but not the EVR like i normally did. Don't know if I just need to reinstall ET or if there is an issue at the moment with it. Second issue. I can't uncheck an episode as watched or even mark it as watched. There is an option to mark a whole season as watched or unwatched. Third issue. If I'm opening the menu for all series and want to back out one step it takes me to the start screen in my case it's Movies and I have to navigate back to my overview for the tv-shows I got. For example, If I open the menu all series, picka show and watch an episode then stops it and hit back it takes me to the show. Hitting back again takes me to the all shows view and hitting back again takes me to the overview for what ever is first in the menu. Is there a way to solve this so if/when i hit back I just go back to the tv-show overview and not back to main overview. And don't tell me to change the order of the menu, still the same if I change it and backs out from all movies it takes me to the main screen for what ever is first on the menu.
