    Google Drive as source

Please click "Like this" and share it if you want to support this feature. Thank you ! Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Furthermore, me and my friends can watch movies from anywhere! Basics features that should be included: GOOGLE APPS OAUTH2 for activation and permission playing transcoded version (MP4 360p, 480p, 720p & 1080p) directly into Emby's app playing original file (avi, mkv, mp4) directly into Emby's app import embedded subtitles porwerful script module for multiple folder scanning and STRM generating

  4. Hi all, I have a GSuite account which I use RClone to upload my files to. I have mounted a new drive on my laptop (X:) and am able to upload video files with no issues. However, there is an issue when uploading folders containing both video and photo files (.jpeg). where they are not showing up. Here are the steps I took to upload these folders into Gdrive: 1) Using RClone Browser, Upload "Pictures" folder into GSuite Drive 2) In Emby, select "Home videos and Photos" and point it to the mounted drive (X:\) 3) Scanned and refresh meta data 4) No photos nor video files appear Strangely, when I upload the same folder directly from my desktop, meaning upload the files from my laptop path (C:\Me\Pictures), all photos and videos appear with no issues. I have checked all permissions, there were no hidden folders nor photos that were private that could have caused this (referencing the other photos error thread). Separately, on Plex, doing the Rclone+Gdrive setup did not any issues at all. Your advice is muchly appreciated! Pic1 = Folder uploaded and synced to emby directly from C:\Me\Pictures shows all items appearing Pic2 = Folder uploaded and synced to emby through RClone shows nothing

    GDrive - emby_autoscan

I have been working on a python script to pull file changes from GDrive using google’s api, get the file info and send a request to emby’s api to update the file path via the library/media/updated endpoint. So far I have been able to successfully do this, script have been running with no issues for 24 hrs before I make it public there are a few improvements that I have to make. I have tested this on a windows machine, I would like to find a few ppl with different OS to make sure that it works fine there, so please is interested send a PM. I do have an Emby related question, after a request has been sent and media is scheduled to be refreshed, what happens if the server is restarted before that task is completed? Here is the github link: https://github.com/atrpm/emby_gdrive_autoscan

    one

I want to request a creation to save data files and videos with the creation of google one plugins and save to my goole one. I want to ask the gentlemen programmers to link google one in the emby and thus save all the data in it, in google one, this may be possible. And I also request the creation of an EPG (electronic program guide) suitable in my country Brazil so that I can have more resources in this country through EMby. I also request a document that helps us create html, xmltv, url, m3u, m3u8 for emby. A document to help us with it. But the first two request options are the most important for using emby and saving all data on GOOGLE ONE. Thank you Cristian Florencio.
  8. Hi! here is my current Emby setup. Emby Server is running on Windows and linked to Google Drive for media accessed via Google File Stream. It's running great. But I want to switch to Android so can anyone tell me how to link my Gdrive account in order to access the media from there in Emby Server for Android is there an app equivalent to Google File-stream for Android? Thanks in advance.

    Metadata/NFO files on Google Drive

Hi I've been experimenting with using my Google Drive for storing some of my media. I've been doing this using the Google Drive File Stream program, and pointing Emby to the mounted drive on my Mac. Generally speaking, it has been hit or miss as to whether this works successfully and I'm inclined to ditch this experiment. I've tried Rclone but could not get to grips with it at all and my library is not huge, I just wanted to free up some space on my external HDDs. The main issue I seem to find is that metadata can take a while to generate (if at all). I have my libraries setup with the Metadata saving in the local movie folders (so I can easily migrate if necessary in the future). But I'd like to understand the behaviours behind this to ensure efficiency. I'd sincerely appreciate some input/answers to the following if possible: 1. If I add a movie to my Google Drive and run a library scan, does Emby essentially force the download of the movie to generate the NFO file? 2. Would it be better to add and scan the files on a local directory on my Mac and move the movie and subsequently generated NFO/artwork files to the Google Drive? Or would Emby try and recreate these when it scans the Google Drive source? 3. If I turn off the Local metadata options on my libraries, where does this get stored on my Mac and could I easily access this to copy it/back up?

    Google Drive - MENU Specific

Hello good afternoon, Is it possible to create separate menus so that files uploaded to Google Drive are REPRODUCED before the local file that is in the emby? How could I do that? The preference is to play the media in Google Drive, not the local server. Thank you Long live Emby
  11. Your current storage plan of 1 TB for $9.99/month will be upgraded to 2 TB at no extra cost. Your storage is still shared across Drive, Gmail, and Photos.* With Google One, get direct access to experts for help with Google products and services, invite up to 5 family members to share your storage plan, and enjoy a few extras. You don’t need to do anything. In the coming weeks, we’ll send you an email to confirm your upgrade is complete, with more details on what you can do with Google One. At that point, you’ll be billed for Google One instead of Google Drive

    Google Cardboard

I've been using google cardboard a lot as of late to watch my media via my Note 4 in Virtual Reality 3d. There are some decent apps for this, but none so far from what I can see with the ability to stream media to my phone. My favorite app the 3d application so far is Full Dive. Has there been any thought to build native support in to the Android Media Browser app to view streaming media browser content and 3D movies to a smart device in a sort of Virtual Cinema view. I think this would be a great addition to this already amazing product.
  13. Are the Emby Android and ATV apps eligible to be added to the Google Family Library?

    Owncloud Integration (tags)

Currently, I have a Google Drive library mounted on my server and Emby can use it really fine. I do however want emby to read from my owncloud server instead, because in owncloud is where I really want to keep my files; it allows tagging and it's a general purpose file system. Can emby integrate in any way with owncloud? What I want is for emby to read the tags I assign in owncloud to my files, so I can't simply mount my owncloud, cause the tags are not pushed through with a simple mount. I really don't know if I can mount owncloud with extended attributes and go that route, but I imagine emby doesn't read extended attributes;) Any pointers?
  16. Is there a simple way to customize the colors of the status bar in android with CSS? Emby use green and I would like to change it if it's possible.
  17. Here's a humble screenshot of a re-designed Emby icon that follows Google's material design principles. If you're interested in incorporating it into the App builds, let me know what file format you'd like. These were made with Adobe Illustrator and are vector files, so I can export pretty much whatever filetype you need. Two samples, adding a little more virtual depth to the logo.

    Chromecast Via Browser

So I have been having some issues with the Android client where it would play some files but not others. And the Web client would play the files fine, so I did a little research and found that in Google Chrome Beta Google is working on a chrome cast extension that allows any HTML5 Video to be cast to the device. So I downloaded it, installed the extension, and went to my server. Sure enough when I play a video there is a Chromecast Icon in the upper left corner. And it works! Sometimes. Some files will play some wont when it does not play it says "unable to cast video due to site restrictions" I have noticed that the ones that do work are encoded with H264 codec. Has anyone else played around with this and got it to work consistently? Most of my files are AVI. Thanks!
