Hey, I tried to use the "Playstate" Filter from within a directory, but it does not work. It does not matter if I try on Android, Windows or Web, the behaviour is wrong on all platforms. When I select "Played" every entry will be hidden. If I select "Unplayed" no entry will be hidden. And yes there are entries fully marked as watched and some not even watched once. @LukeThis is definitely a bug, a dev has to fix Best Regards DragonSkills99

Issue Emby Theater is running, but no longer visible. Clicking the Window in the Taskbar does not restore the window. How-To Resolve 1. Close Emby Theater 2. Delete the windowstate.json file in the following (default) location on Windows: %APPDATA%\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron 3. Restart Emby Theater

Hi guys, I have just bought the EMBY premiere and am very excited to utilize the emby theater for windows (both desktop version or the Microsoft store version are tried). I have triggered the HDR button in the Windows settings-display (Windows 11). For hardware, my GPU is RTX4090, my CPU is i9-13900k, and my monitor is ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM which is officially announced to support HDR10/Dolby Vision display. I don't use transcoding because my NAS is Synology DS923+ which doesn't even have GPU, so I have disabled such function, which means all the video streaming is "direct play", which has been illustrated in the status nerds tested before. All these are the preconditions. What I want to ask, just as the title said, is that can the Emby Theater for windows correctly play HDR content based on these conditions? The HDR includes all the HDR format, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, etc., depending on what the video naturally is. What the "correctly" mean is that color is correct in HDR format (I remember is BT2020 for HDR10 or anything else), instead of auto tone-mapping to another format like SDR format (Because I see the feature provided by Emby premiere: HDR Tone Mapping When Transcoding ). Such a feature is absolutely important because we could realize HDR content playback on platforms that do not support HDR display normally by mapping the color space, that is what I understand. If the answer is "yes", I could be relieved to use the default and matched emby app to play back all the 4k Blu-ray disc with very high quality (BDMV, bluray folder or iso) stored in my NAS/ Emby server, instead of using external players like potplayer. You know, it feels tedious and not very good. So anyway, could anyone tell me about the questions above? I am afraid it could be a little bit messy because answers may be different for different HDR formats, like HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I appreciate any of your patience and help!

Emby Theater for windows version 1.1.568.0 has an odd issue when playing videos (mp4) automatically "playlist" (via clicking the shuffle button). It plays them ok, but the "up next" link at the bottom of the screen on the left side doesn't show what videos are up next in the playlist. It does nothing. I think it started in this version.

Hello, I have emby theater version 1.1.563.0 installed on windows 11 and the autoplay next video doesn't work anymore even though its selected in the playback settings (Play next episode automatically). I have emby server 4.8.8.0 on a synology nas. Emby theater now closes after 1st video is played on my dell workstation.

Emby Theater - Method of Configuring only X-number of Video Backrops to Randomly Play (instead of all play)

The video backdrops feature is pretty nifty. Sometimes I have multiple video backdrops, and it has occurred to me that it could be nice (on a per-backdrops-folder basis) if there were a way (perhaps through special filenaming?) to designate: that only a configured number of backdrop videos should play; and that whatever that number is, the videos should be randomly selected from the total amount from within the backdrops folder. For example, perhaps with one item (movie, tv season, etc.) I have 3 video backdrops and I only want 1 to be randomly selected and played. But for another item maybe I have 5 video backdrops and so I decide I want 2 to be randomly selected and played. Hi, i am having a peculiar problem with my current setup and was hoping to get some help with it. This problem in present in all emby clients that i have tried (android, windows, webapp) My setup is as follows - 1. emby running on UNRAID server - this is on my local network and i usually access this without https (with its ip) as i have not configured a ssl certificate for local access. i can not connect to this servers public domin name on my local network as my router does not support loopback and i need to use a vpn to circumvent this. 2. emby running on OpenMediaVault server - this is a remote server that i would like to access via its public domain name. i can do so if i go to its domain directy emby.example.com. This server is behind a CG NAT and is connected to a VPS via tailscale network. I am running nginxproxymanager on the vps to reverse proxy this and as stated i can connect to the domian directly. 3. i cant use https://app.emby.media to access my local network hence i use http://app.emby.media 4. when i first set up remote server on http://app.emby.media , i can connect to it and play my media without any problem. however when i logout or change servers the webapp does not let me connect to the remote server again. anytime i clink on the remote server to login it instead opens the local servers login page. the only way i can login to my remote server again is if i again add it as a new server. 5. the same problem exist across emby apps.

Emby Server / Emby Theater - Option to Download (and Display) Duration/Length Metadata for Media Stubs

It would be helpful if Media Stubs that have online metadata would automatically download (or there be an option to make set it as automatic) additional metadata that normally would be derived from the video file, particularly Duration / Length / Runtime of the video (and then of course actually display that metadata in Emby Theater). I realize that the online metadata may not always exactly match the true duration (eg, a special edition DVD with extra scenes not in the official theatrical length), but anything would be more useful than nothing here. If I'm trying to decide on something to watch it is unfortunate to have to go dig up the physical DVD/Blu-ray (or switch to the online service provider, if is something I have on Vudu, iTunes, etc.) in order to find out how long it is (particularly since movies can vary in length from ~1.5 hours to 2.5+ hours). Completed Emby Theater - Display Title, Duration and other Metadata Below the Selected Extra

In addition to (but not contingent on) a related feature request ( https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/43845-emby-server-emby-theater-support-nfo-files-and-automatic-metadata-lookup-for-extras/ ), I recommend Emby Theater display the full Title, Duration and any other Metadata below the currently selected Extra using something along the lines of the UX pattern called "Thumbnail grid expanding preview". As far as I can tell the only ways to get more details are to either start playing the item, or Ctrl-D to view Edit Info (neither of which is ideal when you're just browsing). I think that the "Thumbnail grid expanding preview" UX pattern is a decent route to go and in keeping with the general aesthetic of ET. Additionally, once the underlying code is built for this way of displaying data, there are potentially other uses for this UX pattern. One I can think of at the moment (which can be spun off to it's own feature request at some later point) would be to have items in "More Like This" respond this way, so that you get a mini-detailed view of some of the item metadata and then the option to click through to that item's page to actually play the item if desired. This would enable one to more quickly ascertain (without fully going to the item page) if they want to further explore that "More Like This" item or not. Regardless of additional uses (such as for "More Like This" items), I think that some sort of improvement is definitely needed for displaying the details of Extras, and the "Thumbnail grid expanding preview" UX pattern seems like a decent option to me. When streaming a video encoded in x265, the video plays fine on my android device. The video is not transcoded by the emby server and playback is good. But on Windows 11, when streaming the same video, the server transcodes the video from x265 to x264. This causes playback to stutter as the server cannot transcode the video fast enough. Ideally, the video should stream directly without transcoding. Does Emby Theater support x265 playback on Windows 11? If not, will it in the future?

Moin, nach einer Qualitätänderung beendet der Server schlicht die wiedergabe. Leider kann ich nicht nachträglich auf Original umstellen, so dass es nur noch über den Browser geht. Irgendwelche vorschläge? Server =? Debian... Client = Windows 11 Gruß

Emby Theater Flatpak on Fedora Linux locks screen during playback

Just as the title suggests. I have Emby Theater (Flatpak) running on Fedora Kinoite 38, and my laptop locks its screen during video playback on it. It is rare that I do not also do some work while watching a video on my laptop, which is why I discovered it so late, but if I do not touch the touchpad or the keyboard for the amount of time I have set for the screen to be locked while video is playing on Emby Theater, my laptop locks itself. -
Has anyone managed to get a good Install of Emby Theather on a Raspberry Pi 4?

I see a lot of differing statements, and can’t tell if I am chasing something that just hasn’t been done. I have a Raspberry Pi 4, 4MB and a 8MB. I have using the “bundled” Raspberry PI so & Emby image and the play back and navigation of very poor (stutters, frame skips). This is on H264 video encoded at 480p. I have tried doing the Raspian desktop (32bit) and the followed the instructions to install ET. Same results. Poor Playback and navigation I have installed Ubuntu 21.04 Desktop then ET. Better results. I have even installed LibreElect with the Emby add-in —- Great Results it works. I am looking for a recommendation and hopefully someone will come out and say “Hey yeah it works for me” to help me get this working. I rather not use Ubuntu because I am carrying the weight of a desktop OS and packages. I rather not use LibreElect and I really only want ET. I would love to use the combined Raspberrypi Image and ET but no one seems able to say what needs to be done to get smooth playback and navigation on it, or if it is a known issue and being worked on. Help? -
Bonjour, Je rencontre un problème avec les contenu en 4K dont la lecture est très saccadée avec Emby Theater seulement. La lecture avec VLC ou Kodi est parfaitement fluide. Testé avec emby theater 3.0.15 sur Ubuntu 20.04 et sur Windows 10 et avec plusieurs contenus en 4K. Je précise que la lecture est en lecture direct, donc sans transcodage. Bitdefender Anti-Virus Freaked Out While Using Emby Theater

I have had Emby Theater on my main PC for several months and only use this client rarely since I generally use Roku/FireTV clients. However, it has never previously caused a problem with Bitdefender although I don't believe I've opened it in about a month. Today, I opened the Emby Theater for Windows x64 client app and initially I could watch a couple channels. But, while scrolling through the live program guide, all my fans started to roar on the computer, everything froze for about 20 seconds while the fans were all fully engaged, and then Bitdefender announced it had detected malware and suspicious activity and had taken action. I built this PC myself with all retail packaged brand new top-shelf components in January and have not had any kind of threats detected by Bitdefender before today. Here is what Bitdefender said happened: Threat name Atc Blocked app name C:\Users\Computer\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\x64\mpv\RefreshRate.exe It then listed all the files it said had become infected by RefreshRate.exe and quarantined them. These are listed as: electron.exe mpv.com mpv.exe Emby.Theater.exe Mediabrowser.Updater.exe f71d6f4242de272ae733970412eaa2b0_fce8395c8fd8a999_5ae85d3cb828f8fb_0_0__1.bin f71d6f4242de272ae733970412eaa2b0_fce8395c8fd8a999_5ae85d3cb828f8fb_0_0__0.bin Since Bitdefender has not previously choked when I've opened Emby Theater, but I haven't opened it in at least a month, I'm not sure if Bitdefender has suddenly started throwing out false positives when it never previously did, or, has the refreshrate.exe program become dodgy? -
a lot of my media is really quiet and I have to go into the windows volume mixer and turn everything else to 50% volume and leave emby theater at full to get it to normal volume it would be great if I could set the volume in emby theater to 150% like I can in vlc is there anyway to make the volume slider go to 150% thanks DETAILS: emby theater from windows store on windows 10 (client) emby server Version 3.2.70.0 on debian 9 (server)

На многих файлах после нажатия во время воспроизведения кнопки pause, потом play, через несколько секунд останавливается воспроизведение видео (картинка замирает), а звук продолжает воспроизводится. Порядок такой: 1. Нажимаю pause. 2. Нажимаю play. 3. Проходит 5-10 секунд. 4. Картинка останавливается, звук идёт. Пробовал на разных компьютерах, такая же проблема. Помогает выйти из просмотра, а потом "продолжить просмотр" (если видео не близко к концу, тогда система считает, я закончил смотреть). При этом на этих же файлах нет проблемы в приложении для Android и через веб-браузер. Emby for Windows 1.1.352.0 (на более ранних версиях была такая же проблема) Сервер 4.6.0.50 (на 4.5 была та же проблема) Лог для сервера прикрепил. Лог для Emby Theater не нашёл. I spent the whole day yesterday using Emby theatre on windows but out of nowhere, it started malfunctioning. When I open it, it shows on the taskbar [it's not pinned] and on task manager as a process but it doesn't open on the screen. I've gone throught some threads on this and tried all the solutions proposed but none has worked. My set up is: Emby theatre runs on the same machine as the server, but I use it on a secondary display via HDMI.

I'm using a Xbox 360 controller with Emby Theater Desktop App in Windows 10 and i have noticed that the "Enter" button (A button) doesn't work in some places, like in the manual login screen where i expected to press the "A" button so it shows the on screen keyboard but that doesn't happens however if i call the on screen keyboard using "intro" key on the usb keyboard then i can input some letters using the Xbox 360 controller and the "A" button. Another instance where i find this same behavior is when selecting the version to play in multi version movies, changing the audio or the subtitle track, again pressing the "A" button does nothing, but then pressing "intro" key on the keyboard i allows me to choose the track select it with "A" button. And the last place where i find this bug was in the settings menu, i'm able to navigate through the menus but can't change any option.

Emby Theater (plus other apps) - Ability to Temporarily Enlarge Poster Image

Edit: This would only be for on the Detail screen of an item, as that is where I think it would make the most intuitive sense. It would be nifty in Emby Theater to have some way to select the Poster and enlarge it for better viewing. Perhaps we could be able to select the Poster itself, and then press Enter to Enlarge? Personally, I'd be interested in a two-stage method: Activating Enlarging makes the Poster fill the screen; then pressing Enter a 2nd time (while Poster is filling the screen) Enlarges Poster to full size (if it is not already at full size); a 3rd Enter press then restores the Poster back to normal. In my old custom system I had this functionality (the two-stage method), and I appreciated it for certain really detailed posters. However, I realize other's may not care about that level of detail, and so I could be content with just having a method to Enlarge the Poster to fill the screen (or to go as big as it can in given the original file size, while staying within the bounds of the screen). Button to list all episodes AKA "All Seasons" in TV Show listing

SO this is something I really miss from Kodi. In kodi, it's possible to go into a tv show, and select "All seasons" all the way at the beginning of the season listings. This would then bring up a playlist comprised of every episode in every season in order. What I would then use this for, is to "sort by IMDB rating" or "sort by TheTVDB rating" and then scroll through the highest rated episodes of the entire series. A super super useful feature that I used every day. And one I miss dearly in Emby. Of course I could just use Kodi and do DLNA from Emby, but it's just not as aesthetically pleasing or as stable. I much prefer Emby for every single thing EXCEPT this. Is this possible in the Emby metadata framework? Is there an option to do this somewhere already that I just can't find?? hey everyone I just installed Emby Theater Proton on elementaryOS. seems to work just fine so far but I can't play anything since it tries to access the network paths I set for my libraries. However, on this setup I do not have (or rather do not want to) setup the network folders. Is there anyway to configure Emby Theater to not use network paths and just get it over Emby Server? BTW: over browser access it works perfectly fine. Thanks for your help and best regards

Emby Server / Emby Theater - Option to Mark an Extra as able to also Appear/Act as Standalone Item

I don't know how much demand there might be for this, but thought I'd throw it out there. In my old, custom-built system I had a way that I could indicate that an "extra" (or subitem) could also appear in the main listing as it's own stand-alone item (with all of it's own metadata) (though I would indicate when viewing the details of that item in a stand-alone context that it was connected to it's parent item). The simplicity of how Extras work in Emby has definitely grown on me (it's very handy to just be able to drop stuff in an "extras" folder and have them handled automatically). However, I periodically have Extras that I both would like to appear as Extras for a given Movie, but which also are substantial enough to be present in the main listing of movies (for example, certain documentaries paired with a given movie DVD). It would be great if there were a checkbox to designate a given Extra could also appear independently (such that it would show up with it's own item listing, in addition to appearing as an Extra for it's parent). This is actually partly possible currently by adding an Extra to a Collection -- the Extra will show up in the Collection as a stand-alone item, including being able to browse to it's detail page (though, until we get metadata downloading, etc. for Extras there's not much to see: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/43845-emby-server-emby-theater-support-nfo-files-and-automatic-metadata-lookup-for-extras/ ). This method kinda gets at what I'm aiming for, but I think I'd ultimately prefer the full version of what I'm asking for (including the Extra's detail page have an indicator of, and link back to the parent). One question though: Is what I've described as currently being possible with adding an Extra to a Collection a fluke (ie, an accidental feature), or can I count on it continuing to function that way? If I decide to make use of that functionality (eg, there are some items where it might be sufficient for me just to be able to add them to a Collection) I don't want that to then later go away because it was not something that was intended to work that way.
