    unable to view ebooks

Is Emby only able to read epub or is it capable of reading .cbr and .cbz formats? I have a very large collection of comics courtesy of Mylarr and Emby is seeing that I have files there as well as pull the metadata for the content but I am unable to view any of the content. I know epubs and .cbr's are not a major concern for devs, but I am trying to move away from Plex (due to lack of plugin support as well as the recent WB merger) and in favor of Emby for ALL of my media needs, games (which I'm having no luck so far), movies, tv shows, music as well as ebooks and comics.
  2. Hi, I'm probably overlooking something but I can't seem to find a way to open .epub files directly from the Emby app. I have UB Reader and Kindle installed on the device. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Rob
  3. its set to author by default. I have to rename my magazines to unsorted to group them all together. it would also make browsing books to read easier. Thanks!
  4. I was just trying to download a few magazines and the download option is no longer available in the android client. can we get this working again? Thanks!!
  5. I'm not able to download any books or magazines to client with the latest android update. It still works with the web client though.
  6. The books function associated with pdf's seems to be broken now. When I select a PDF book or magazine the app displays a black screen then after a few minutes it crashes. I'm not sure what has changed since the past few updates. I thought might be a problem was with calibre with recent updates but I removed the books plug in from media browser and removed the library also. then moved the books for a new folder with calibre and reinstalled the plug in and added the new library and the issue happens exactly the same way. the pdf display fine on the web browesr client but I cant download them from there so I'm assuming it must be the android app. Also Does the Books function work in the Ipad Client? Thank JIm
  7. Mediabrowser server version 3.0.5424.1 and MB bookshelf plugin 1.0..5198.29005 As of this new server version it seems that the MB Bookshelfplugin doesn't seem to read the file "metadata.opf" which is created by Calibre. Would like to ask the developer of this plugin to fix this.

    Managing eBooks

Advice would be welcome as to how best to manage ebooks as I am finally moving my ebook collection of technical manuals to MBS. I have tried Calibre to manage metadata and it works well though is a bit slow. The two main drawbacks are: 1. It cannot create a custom directory structure; everything is \Author\Book Title\book.epub etc 2. It creates tags which are read by MBS but not genre metadata which is much more useful. What tools is the community using? What are the best practises. Thanks.
