  1. On Arch Linux, Emby is using a basic ffmpeg by default. Now we have started publishing an Arch Linux package which allows easy installation of the same ffmpeg that is included in most of our other server installation packages and which is optimized for tone mapping, hardware acceleration and a number of other things in combination with Emby Server. Installation Download first to avoid signature issues, then install via pacman: wget https://mediabrowser.github.io/embytools/emby-ffmpeg-bin-2023_06_25-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst sudo pacman -U emby-ffmpeg-bin-2023_06_25-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst Please restart Emby server after installation: systemctl restart emby-server.service

Migration from Windows 10 to Arch Linux

hey all, I am a bit confused... As far as I know I should be able to just run the backup tool in Windows and then run it in the arch installation and then it should "magically" work, right? this have not been the case with my installation, I can literally not see the libraries even tho the paths are correct. I need to know how to get emby working again. Right now i cannot see media files in any of the libraries when looking through them, not even the metadata tool shows anything. I have tried several browser (opera and firefox, tried both in private mode as well) so it got nothing to do with cache/cookies. example picture from opera: I am on the latest build of emby available for my distro which is 4.3.0.30. I ran sudo pacman -Ssy emby Result I got from that: :: Synchronizing package databases... core is up to date extra is up to date community is up to date multilib is up to date community/emby-server 4.3.0.30-1 [installed] Bring together your videos, music, photos, and live television I am attaching embyserver.txt if you require any other log from emby server I shall conjure it into existence for you helping folks. I tried to create new libraries, and it works, it is just that the already existing ones does not work, and I really would like try to avoid to recreate them, thank you It is 2am when typing this, I am sorry for any spelling mistakes, if you need any clarification, ask away! Thank you for taking your time reading through this and trying to help me with my trouble. have a nice day! embyserver.txt Edit: Added embyserver.txt logfile
  3. so if im watching a tv series, SOMETIMES the video will end and then nothing happens. also, most of the time when i pause to go to the bathroom or something, when i come back and press play, thevideo works for a bit (i assume its playing from cache) but then it will freeze for a few seconds, turn black and not play again until i return to the previous page and refresh then select the video again this is the only thing weird i noticed in the embyserver.txt log 2019-07-12 18:13:58.939 Debug App: SessionInfoWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:51650 2019-07-12 18:13:58.939 Debug App: ScheduledTasksWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:51650 2019-07-12 18:13:58.941 Debug App: ActivityLogWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:51650 2019-07-12 18:13:58.941 Debug App: ActivityLogWebSocketListener Begin transmitting over websocket to [::ffff:192.168.1.1]:51650 looks like its combining ipv6 anbd ipv4 address, even though ipv6 is disabled on my router(s) i have since disabled ipv6 on the linux server and will report back if that helped full embyserver : https://pastebin.com/yWDqZKkE hardwaredetection.txt : https://pastebin.com/9ZsVGAKd ffmpeg-transcode of video that failed to reach the end after a pause: https://pastebin.com/V7N8Wq8b ffmpeg-transcode of video that stopped when it should have autoplay'd : next time it happens ill pastebin possibly important info: os is installed on mdadm raid with ext4..... and theyre usb3.0 flash drives.... pls dont judge me media storage is a btrfs raid 0 between 3 drives 2 sata, one usb (not flash). opt is bind mount of .opt on media drive i use hd-idle to keep all drives alive for 2.5 hours before idling and problem occurs with or without usb drives included in hd-idle could be related to arch/manjaro, had the same setup on ubuntu without these problems PS: i wouldnt mind someone testing the server themselves, but dont be a dbag. bowtie-ent.com/emby will redirect you, test user is password free.

    No HEVC (H.265) encoder VAAPi

Like the title i can seem to get the hevc encoder to appear on the list. I use the last version of arch linux (4.19.8-arch1-1-ARCH) with the last beta of emby (3.6.0.81) I've already installed intel-media-driver but it just won't appear

    trouble with intel hwacc vaapi

Dear Community. I am quiet new to emby. Until now i like it very much, it is clean and simple. On my archlinux box i am playing around with it. During that time i tried the hw acceleration of my i7-3770, which supports h264 accel through vaapi within ffmpeg. Running vaapi as root just works fine. Emby fails. 6. Dear emby-friends, I use for a very long time Plex on Linux etc. Now discovered emby, but I can't get roku to delete any file doesn't matter what user or group and even giving thme all 777 rights. If I followed the guide for plex, it just worked, trying anything possible for emby, it just doesn't want to work. Need help to get emby to be able to delete files with Roku. In a test I had it before and it was working, now, I can't get it done doesn't matter what. Need help and a fresh mind
  7. I am not sure how to recreate the issue, but for a couple months now my emby-server has just crashed maybe once or twice a day, and I need to restart the service. I kept hoping the next update would resolve it, but it hasn't happened yet... I'm running v3.0.5972 on Arch Linux 64 bit, with an Intel i7 processor and 32GB of RAM. [root@potatofarm]# mono --version Mono JIT compiler version 4.2.2 (Stable 4.2.2.30/996df3c Sun Jan 31 11:58:08 UTC 2016) Copyright (C) 2002-2014 Novell, Inc, Xamarin Inc and Contributors. www.mono-project.com TLS: __thread SIGSEGV: altstack Notifications: epoll Architecture: amd64 Disabled: none Misc: softdebug LLVM: supported, not enabled. GC: sgen When emby is performing normally, I connect to it regularly with my android device and my Kodi device running the Emby plugin for library sync (the server is also running the relevant library sync helper). I don't see anything in the logs that indicates it's related to the library sync helper, but I can't really make heads or tails of these logs anyway. I've disabled all DLNA features of the server because I don't use it, and I saw other people with mysterious crashing issues that were resolved by avoiding DLNA. This doesn't seem to have helped anything. I have lots and lots and lots of small log files which appear to indicate unhandled exceptions, which i'm including the most recent ones of here, along with the last couple of server log files. This is difficult for me to pin down the exact log entries and times specifically because it seems to happen when we're not paying attention to it... we just go over to Kodi and it can't connect, or it already has a warning that the sync thread has failed (presumably because it can't connect). Please let me know if there are any other datapoints i should try to hit. emby_logs.tar.gz
