hi guys my isp has blocked port 80 and I'm unable to authorize my certificates for my ddns. for the sake of the noob users on my network it would be helpful if your apps would automatically accept self signed certificates. i understand this is not possible in web browsers but surely its possible in your apps on smart tv's and consoles etc.... i have recently had to give plex my money which i am not happy about. i dont want to stop supporting emby however if i cant use the secure connections its of no real use to me anymore.

Hi everyone. I have found a (Issue and this needs enhanced) because i have a friend who have downloaded a whole TV show to my mobile because both of us have the same Phone name and looks like than emby allow to see everyone devices as connected to emby through the list of downloads to device option let me explain in other words How I supposed to know wish iPhone is mine and the other 2 is my friend, as you can see there are 3 iPhone in the list because the devs don't have isolated it. I'm my moms tv with her accounts same thing (all device is listed) As you can see in above picture, I can allow to download my movies to any device from other users, it should have a isolated device list per users Like my computer and my smartphone and etc (My own devices only) .. But not showing me the device from others like my mom devices, it should be isolated between accounts (My user can download to my own device) (My moms can download to her device) I really don't understand why the devs don't have isolated the list by user. Like I have described above. Hopefully this will be fixed soon because is a security issue user may not be able to view devices from other users. Resume to do. Isolation between device account to don't allow users to download by mistake to a device from other users, so by this way the device is isolated by accounts and the retrieved(return or resulted) list was only the device from that user and not from the other. Kind Regards Enjoy? VOTE WITH LIKE NOT WITH +1 COMMENT Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk

Aloha! I wanted to ask if somebody else made the experience that audio playback does a little stutter when you have it running and change from app to app or put the screen in sleep mode. I have this a lot on an iphone 6s running IOS 13.6.1..

Duplicate [Feature Request] Comment bellow the movie.
CyberPoison posted a topic in Feature Requests
Hi everyone, I have a other ideia for embyweb and emby apps, i would like than emby devs develop a way to post comments on the movies and store the comments as (Self Hosted) . So if someone have previously whatched the movies he/she can comment thought (Nvidia Shield,Android,iOS,WEB,etc...) and then we can reply but the whole thing self hosted. This is a e.g (Footage of my feature demande ) (Hosted in emby means -> Hosted in my Server "SelfHosted") Kind regards EDIT: Also i forget to precise but this feature need some moderation tools or be moderated by default by Emby Server "Self Hosted" like ban url, (Just something to eliminate all potential wrong use of this) or not clicable links etc.. (Basicly a tool to moderate it) i have family on my server and i don't want they swear on my emby server because i have also my family on it so it will be nice to have a tool to moderate comments. Waiting for @Luke opinion and @ebr to know if this is releasable and there will be a way or a hope for this in the feature and how many time it will take ? Hi Guys After using Plex for many years i have given up on them, Currently i use the Plex desktop app to play 24bit high res audio to a chrome-cast audio via Airfoil and it direct plays NO Transcoding etc. Why can i Not find an Emby Mac desktop App? When i play 24bit via the chrome browser Emby says it's transcoding it. TIA L33

Hi, Can we have more options in filtering like directed by, writer, producer, cast, tags? Also I don't see any value addition in having video and audio codec filtering in client apps (thinking as a layman user). Also can I edit the filter system by my own provided I have some technical and coding skills?

Hi, Installed EMBY Theater which seems to work fine. However, when I shut the computer down and next log on its no longer there. It still shows as being installed in programs and features. I have my system booting into EMBY Theater on startup as I used to with WMC, but it`s missing when I next power up. The server is installed on the same machine as this is the only machine I want it on. Why is this happening? Thanks.

Completed For all APPs. Can change the settings of the audio and subs before play.
Riggs posted a topic in Feature Requests
Hi. I found that the Client side (APPS) that I use (Android TV and Roku), they doesn't have the option to setting up the audio or the subs before play. This feature is present and working in the web/server side. It is very handy. If for some reason you don't have a receiver and your TV can handle stereo, or dolby, or dts, only. Avoiding the initial hang or freeze of the APP if the audio is multichannel and your TV is stereo is a good thing. However, It depends of your TV brand, some can handle ac3 (dolby 5.1), some DTS 5.1 and sometimes both, sometimes just one of those or only stereo. Since 7.1/2 and 9.1/2 are more popular and complex to transcode, one option is find and add an aditional audio track (for compatibility, if is available) and choose that other audio 5.1 to be transcoded on the fly. I don't know why this is happend (hang or freeze), some ffmpeg issues, maybe... (I don't know), but sometimes the APP leave the movie hanged or can't be played, and other times, for some unknown reason, the video can't be played, because the audio can't be transcoded. Anyway, nevermind if it just to avoid more complex audio to transcode but many times when you have 2 or 3 audio tracks available, and maybe two languages, if you can change the audio before play any content, is much better. I had to change the default audio many times in the server side before play some content, and then go to the device to can watch the video/movie/tv show without problems. This feature maybe, can give to the developers team, more clues to fight with some playback issues when the content needs to be transcoded, in this case, the audio. Anyway, if you can choose the audio or subs before play any content, it is a good thing. Thanks in advance. Regards. -
As i just lost my entire typescript -- Emby server is quite often sluggish and unresponsive. May show libraries on the home page of the web app, but nothing else. If it shows the libraries, it will show nothing inside them more often than not. Lots of time with the spinner. Similar issues with the Roku, iOS, and Android apps. I've very occasionally been able to watch or listen to things, but even when I can get into a library and get it to display items, the library is usually incomplete. Artist sorts in music return either endless spinner, or very partial results. As I recently added two libraries, I'm loathe to execute a restart (it's grindingly slowly towards 100% on those two.) If I can get a response on the web app or the iOS or Android app, I can sometimes cast to the Roku app on the TV. embyserver.txt embyserver-63671356800.txt

Emby Theater (plus other apps) - Button to Display Backdrop Video/Image
funwithmedia posted a topic in Feature Requests
I think I've seen comments here and there regarding people not liking how Backdrops (still images, or videos) are partially obscured. I'm not sure yet what my opinion is on that (though I think I lean towards being fine with the partial fade/gradient). But as I'm starting to experiment with using video Backdrops it has occurred to me that it would be useful if there were an icon that appeared when a video backdrop is playing, similar to how things work with an Audio Theme file, that in this case would enable the user to fully display the video backdrop (either through temporarily hiding the main content that is obscuring the video, or by displaying the video in a full screen video mode -- I lean towards the first option personally). Similarly, having a button (it could be the same button/icon) that enables one to display the still-image backdrop could be nifty. Perhaps the icon could be a film cell / film strip? http://www.scenebank.com/filmstriponecell.jpg And maybe if a video Backdrop is playing the icon could have a "play" arrow inside it? https://us.123rf.com/450wm/blankstock/blankstock1407/blankstock140702315/30042947-video-sign-icon-video-frame-symbol-seamless-grid-lines-texture-cells-repeating-pattern-white-texture.jpg?ver=6 In general I like the aesthetics of Emby Theater, but it would be cool to have a way to better view / appreciate / enjoy video and static Backrops, while still having them default to being in the background (as they should be), until called for by a user action for better/fuller viewing. Edit: What about a user setting that enables the poster, text, etc. to all fade away automatically when there is no mouse or keyboard activity for a set time (eg, 5 seconds) when there is a video backdrop playing, and everything fades back in if you move the mouse or navigate via keypress commands? With something like that the experience for items with a video backdrop would be that you'd enter the item, the video backdrop would begin playing as the poster, text, etc. fades away, and only if you move the mouse, activate a keypress, etc. would everything fade back in (while the video backdrop continues to play until finished, but just obscured again). And if you are not moving the mouse or activating a keypress for a set amount (eg, 5 seconds?) then everything fade away again to reveal the video backdrop (if it is still playing). The assumption being that if you're bothering to use video backdrops, then you probably want to see them, and so starting with the video backdrop as soon as you enter the detail screen makes sense, and then you can always move the mouse, activate a keypress to bring everything back in order to navigate to buttons, etc. PS-If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.- 5 replies

Hi - I would like to setup user accounts for 'parents' and 'kids'. I want to have some control in place so that my kids can't select the 'parents' or default admin account and immediately get access to all of the content on the server. I have not been able to find a way to set a PIN for the users. Here is what I've done so far: - Installed the server and setup a default admin account. I've linked this account to Emby Connect - Subscribed to Emby Premier (again with my default email linked to Emby Connect and the default admin account) - Created a local user and attempted to associated with my Emby Connect account (this fails every time - I've sent an email mentioned in the error message and have received a response). - Installed the app on iOS and logged in with my Emby Connect account (which is also the local admin account) - When launching the app - I can select either user and I am not prompted to 'login', the content is available without any restriction I know I can restrict content via ratings or keywords, but neither option will prevent someone from launching an account that has access to all of the media. Here is what I would like to happen (if I have a step wrong, please set me on the right path): - Install the app (iOS, AppleTV, Roku, etc...) login to connect my Emby Connect & Premier account - launch the app and have the choice of which user to 'login' as - be prompted to enter a PIN for each user (or in the case of my Kids - no PIN) - get access to the content based on the users settings (either library access, keywords, or ratings restrictions) Any help is appreciated.

Hi Emby crowd! I have an emby server visible on the internet via SSL/HTTPS only. My server has DDNS so is accessed via URL rather than IP address. I'll be off on a family holiday soon and we're looking to be able to watch our Emby movies on the TV in our destination. The problem is that I have found that Emby app support for HTTPS seems to be quite patchy... - iOS works perfectly with HTTPS. I can watch movies from other networks, from 3G/LTE etc no probs... but of course is is not a big screen family experience. - Samsung TV app works well - family members are able to stream from my Emby server... but I wont be sideloading TV apps on someone elses TV - Amazon fire stick - not working with HTTPS. It fails when trying to select an HTTPS address - Emby sideloaded to Now TV box (aka a roku 3) - does not work with HTTPs - Chromecast - TBC need to test it today One other option is to use the (very pricey) Apple lightning HDMI adapter to watch from iOS app on the TV. Does anyone know if the Apple lightning HDMI adapter works with Emby app? Does anyone have any good (well proven) ideas on how to stream Emby via SSL? Which apps/devices will work? What do you guys do? Note that I have direct access to the wifi network at my travel destination. Its not a hotel wifi with captive portal thank god. (The amazon fire stick is potentially the holy grail of Emby travel since it supports hotel wifi... but sadly not SSL connections) Big thanks in advance for you inputs!!

One of my favorite features from another home theater software I use is shared libraries. My friends and I like the ability to share and stream content from each other. Are there any plans at Media Browser to add the ability to load multiple servers to your library? Here are a few suggestions: The ability to add multiple servers to Media Browser Theater The ability to add multiple servers to apps...like iPad Integrate all libraries, so they are mixed into one giant collection An indicator on the movies that would be streamed vs local An indicator on the movie from what server it came from. So you can call your friend and discuss the movie you watched from their collection Adding non-editable metadata to your local server, so you can still apply maximum allowed parental rating to users Instead of loaning my movies out to friends and trying to remember who has what, this is a much safer and easier method. I really enjoy using Media Browser and feel these features would be extremely valuable to other users. Thank you for your consideration.

Is it possible to have a Hulu App for Theater like all the other apps in theater, where if it is installed on your computer it can be launched from theater. Thanks.

Media Browser Universe With version 3, Media Browser is no longer a single program that runs under Windows Media Center. It is now a complete suite of products anchored by a server engine that can centrally manage your library and feed multiple clients on multiple platforms. Therefore, it is a bit more complicated than previous versions but we're doing everything we can to keep it simple and easy to install and setup. There are some good tutorials being created to help you with step by step instructions on installation and configuration. Look for those in the Tutorials and Guides section of the Knowledge Base. This document will help you understand the big picture of the system, some of its key components as well as which of those components should be installed for your particular situation. Media Browser 3 components Media Browser 3 is made up of a server program that manages your whole library and any of a number of client applications with which to view and play content. Media Browser Server This is a windows-based application that should be installed on one machine on your network to manage your entire library and feed all of your clients. You only need this on one machine on your network, and that machine needs to be available with the server running for any of the clients to be able to access your media. Media Browser Theater This will be the new premier HTPC client for Media Browser. It is a stand-alone program that does not require WMC or specialized codecs in order to view and play your media. It is currently in development and not available for testing yet. Media Browser Classic This is the new Media Center client for MB3. It looks and behaves much like the old MB 2.x and still relies on WMC for its presentation and playback. If you are coming from MB 2 and like or need WMC for its other features, this client will allow you to stay in that environment. MBC also has many of the themes you have come to love under MB 2 available for it. The Dashboard The Dashboard is the new web-based configuration interface for Media Browser Server. It is a centralized hub for configuring your library, user profiles, metadata options, plug-ins, etc. Being web-based, it is accessible from many different platforms including mobile phones and tablets. Web Client Within the Dashboard interface there is also a fully-featured web client for MB 3. This client gives you a very rich interface into your media library including advanced views and searching capability. It is also web-based so it is fully mobile-compatible and can be used to browse and play your collection, and can even communicate with and control clients connected to the server. Remote features vary by client. Other MB3 Clients In addition, there are several other MB clients currently in development. There are specific clients for the following platforms: - Android - Windows/RT - Roku Streaming Media Player - iOS Example Installations The following are a few example installation scenarios and what you need in each one. These are just a few examples - there are many possible configurations but the one thing each one has in common is that you will need one, and just one, installation of MB Server for any Media Browser 3 installation. Single HTPC If you only need to access your media on one computer, you can do that! You can have the MB Server, and MB Classic or MB Theater (coming soon) installed on the same computer, along with all of your media files. Local Network with basic HTPC(s) If you have more than one computer on your network, you can install the MB Server on your primary HTPC only, and install MB Classic or MB Theater (coming soon) on the others. In addition, the computers on your network can also access the Media Browser Web Client. With User Profiles, you can control what media collections each user has access to. Advanced Local Network with multiple types of clients and NAS Maybe your network is a little more complicated. If your media is stored on an NAS, and you've got tablets, smartphones and a Roku you want to view your media on, MB3 can handle that with ease. Simply install MB Server on a PC and direct it your network storage shares. Then, install your choice of MB clients on your other computers and devices. Local and WAN access In addition to being able to access the MB Server from any computer or client on your network, you can expand your reach to anywhere you are connected to the internet by configuring your router to forward the ports used by the Server.
