  1. Hi, long time user - first time poster... With the recent update I found myself enjoying the "Chocolate" gui for the first time. Overall I really like it, and I want to say great job to everyone behind its development (and thanks!) Just a little background on how I use MBC. I have an HTPC in the living room as a settop box replacement (as well as a couple Xbox360's as extenders throughout the house). Although I have a mouse/keyboard available at the main HTPC, I don't like to have to use them if I can use the remote instead (WAF is an issue). Now a couple questions. In the new Chocolate gui, is there any way to "click" on a Director and/or Genre (as you're able to with Cast - and how you are able to in the Classic theme) to show all titles in the entire library with those tags? *I know you can sort by Director/Genre by indexing a folder that way - however, this only searches the folder/section you're in, and not the entire library. And further, I find it quite a bit more combersome to change the index of an entire folder when all I want to do is quickly see other films by a certain director (this is also true with the genre sort, to a lesser extent). I do like the feature, and the idea, that you can index an entire library by these different criteria; however I would still really like the option of the "Classic" way where you could just click the Director or Genre links from within the description page of a title. In practice, I find it far more quick and useful to be able to just scroll down to a movie with the director/genre I want - IE LOTR, and click "Peter Jackson" and/or "Fantasy" (for genre) - and with one click on the director have it show me all of the PJ films I have - or all of the media titles with "Fantasy" as a genre. Any chance I'm just overlooking this functionality in Chocolate? If not, any chance it will be making a comeback? If these "clickable" links can't be added to the description area any more, any chance of adding extra pages/sections to the "Cast" item for other sortable tags like: Director/Producer/Studio/Genre/etc? I see the x/5 Star rankings in the upper left of the description page. Is there any way to make this a numerical TMDB, IMDB, and/or Rotten Tomatoes score instead? In the Classic theme there used to be media detail information - ie, video and audio bitrates, containers, formats, etc. Any option somewhere to re-enable this? I know some of it was redundent, but I enjoyed having it - it was sometimes useful in deciding whether or not to play a title on an extender, plus just fun to see. If using vertical scroll, it's difficult to get to the "control panel" in the upper right. Is there any hotkey and/or WMC remote button that will take you to the control panel? Besides these couple of questions I think the new Chocolate interface is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  2. I wonder how the function "If you like XXXXXX, check these out..." work? The reason I ask is that when looking at eg. Samsara suggestion like The Debt and Sunshine came up. These results has nothing to do with Samsara. There are no tags in those two movies that has similarity with Samsara, nor any genre.

Anime Plug-in - "Cleaner genre list"

@@Aphid I have started allowing the plug-in to add the anime specific genres to each series but I noticed something. It appears to limit the amount of "tags" added as genres to each series. Is there a way to get all the tags turned into genres, at least having the option to do so? We can use the Genre Cleaner plugin to remove any unwanted genres. For example in "Vision of Escaflowne" it lists Genres:Fantasy / Mecha / Romance / Shoujo / Anime Tags: Adventure / Transforming Robot / Dragon / Angst / Steampunk / Alternative Present / Parallel Universe / Piloted Robot / Fantasy World / Shoujo / Action / Sci-Fi I would like those tags to be Genres as well if possible. I notice that some of the genres also appear under tags and vice versa so couldn't we have all the tags become genres and the genres become tags?
  4. Server, version 3.0.5083.27698 running on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 machine. I have been testing out Mediabrowser 3 with a selection of different music tracks. There are a few problems I have come across relating to how Album Artists/Artists are handled. Both the Album Artist and Artist tags for tracks by "Weird Al" Yankovic are written as "Weird Al" Yankovic for each track. The artist folder that contains the album folders and metadata is written as 'Weird Al' Yankovic since " cannot be used in file and folder names in Windows. Both the Album Artist and Artist tags for tracks by AC/DC are written as AC/DC for each track. The artist folder that contains the album folders and metadata is written as AC-DC since / cannot be used in file and folder names in Windows. In the Album Artists view: 'Weird Al' Yankovic - The artist image is not shown and neither are the numbers of albums or songs. AC-DC - The numbers of albums and songs are not shown, but the artist image is. This indicates to me that the folder name is being used instead of the information in the Album Artist tags which is not ideal in situations where different characters are used like these. In the Artists View: AC - shows one extra album and one extra song AC/DC - does not include extra album or extra song DC - shows one extra album and one extra song (the extra album and song it refers to is a track from the Last Action Hero soundtrack which has Various Artists written in the Album Artist tag) This indicates to me that the / in the Album Artist/Artist tags are confusing things somehow as entries called AC and DC are being created even though they do not exist at all in the music collection. They still point to the AC/DC albums, with the addition of the Last Action Hero track, but in the case of the AC entry, it has filled in a artist thumbnail image and description. Additionally, an entry for Various Artists shows up in the Artists view even though it is only used in the Album Artist tags of tracks for certain albums. There are 2 tracks from the Batman Forever soundtrack album in my music collection for testing. Browsing to Various Artists from the Artists view shows two versions of the album. Each one goes to one of the tracks which are both by different artists. The album is also duplicated like this in the Albums view. The file and folder naming convention I use is: D:\Music\Album Artist\Album\Disc 1/2/etc (if more than one disc)\Track Title.mp3 All tracks are tagged with Title, Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Track Number, Album Artist and Disc Number (if more than one disc).
  5. Hi guys, So I have a fairly large collection and after several iterations of media organizers am having a bit of trouble synching up with MB3's music features. From Winamp, Sonique, Windows Media Player, MusicMatch Jukebox, iTunes, TuneUp, etc, etc I've tried a number of things to keep my media collection organized. The last two being WMP and iTunes. The last big convert/organize was done using iTunes, mostly because it had the feature to combine/organize to a new /Music folder destination (as my collection grew I had music strung out across various drives). I ended up using this feature to move everything to an external USB drive and also allowed it to update its mp3 tag data. As time went on and I grew more frustrated by the limitation Apple builds into its products I moved back to WMP, but also allowed it to update tag data. So herein lies my problem... I have a large collection and the file structure and tag data are all over the place. Media Browser is linking it to strange connections on musicbrainz (not even close to actual name of artist). I've seen a few links here to MediaMonkey and mp3tag... and I have downloaded both but don't really have the time to dwelve too deeply into them to see what the best option is on doing mass updates. So that brings me to TuneUp. I have a valid copy but I haven't transferred it to my main machine yet to do processing. Does anyone know if TuneUp updates the tag data that is in a format is acceptable to MB3? I want to attempt using it to clean up as much of the collection as possible, then use the move features of MediaMonkey (or something like it) to put it all into the correct folder structure so that MB3 can pull the correct metadata for it all. Thanks in advance! Draz

    Searchable Metadata

Is there a way to to search the tags I've applied to my content? When using Chrome and IE browsers the search field doesn't seem to be working. While typing a search term, it displays... value cannot be null parameter name:input If I type a phrase and hit Enter, it tells me "coming soon" Perhaps the feature is not yet there or I've missed something during the install? I've not tried any other clients, prefer to use a browser. MB3 server hosted on Win7 Ent, IE9/Chrome running on separate Win7 Ent. Many thanks.
  7. I don't know why this is because it has worked before but Photos sortes as Genre / Tags do not longer show up. I have tested this in ROC theme, NEO theme and default theme but when I hit a genre the page stays empty. I have updated the library multiple times but nothing seems to be happening or it just takes that long and am I impatience. Photos sorted as Index /Group none do appear but I must say with large collections (35 GB) it takes very very long before I see the photos in MBClassic. Is this normal?
